    I bought this unit 6 months ago and waited to review it. I am very happy with the value and performance. The optical audio works fantastic with the smart TV I bought from Bestbuy. The audio setup was easy and I love having simple Bass and Treble controls on the remote. My good old vinyl turntable sounds fantastic with a preamp thru the aux input. It switches automatically from 5.2 to all channel stereo when using it. Nice touch!

    Love my audio receiver, Great for 5.1 or 5.2 surround sound. Very clean sound, using with Jamo Speaker set. As a bonus this has a nice little video upscaler built in. so i hooked up my Nintendo Switch to it and it makes the graphics look alot cleaner than just direct connect to my Vizio TV.

    I hate this receiver. Our sub woofer roars every time we turn the tv and receiver off. So we have to turn woofer off manually. It also defaults to GAME mode every time we turn the tv on when nothing is even plugged into that HDMI port! Zero customer service. Wish we had gotten another Yamaha!

    We hook this Onkyo up to our 15 year old KEF speakers and base unit… and the it sounds like the Sydney Opera House! Great buy if you only need 4 surrounds, a center, and a base unit. Make sure to get great quality speakers to really appreciate this receiver.

    Worked great…for 1 year. Right Rear (Surround) channel now has an unnerving popping sound. I’m concerned it will damage my speaker. I’ve tried everything, change settings, swapped out speaker cable, switched speakers around, it’s definitely some sort of feedback noise coming from the receiver.
    THE GOOD NEWS: It has a 2-year warranty.
    THE BAD NEWS: Obtaining warranty service is difficult. After multiple attempts contacting Onkyo, I was told to bring it to an authorized service center. Great, EXCEPT the closest one to me is 2 states, 225 miles and 3/12-hour drive ONE WAY. Um…No, that’s what we call throwing good money after bad.

    Totally blown sway with this unit and the price point. It has all kinds of sound adjustments, Bluetooth, 5 channels, two sub ports, plenty of hdmi ports and much more. It’s pushing 155 watts oer channel. I’m running two jbl home studio large speakers, two polk audio floor standing speakers and just o e polk audio sub with amazing clarity, bass and it just ricks. It also has audio sound options. You can adjust almost anything. Very satisfied with this unit. A++
