YoRelaxYo –
I originally got this to use Nvidia Game Stream, but they announced that they will be discontinuing that feature so there’s no point in owning this device if you already have a smart TV.
The Device was very buggy as well. I found myself having to manually restart it about once every week or 2.
One very annoying “feature” is the Netflix button. I can not tell you how many times that button has been pushed by accident, but I can definetly tell you it’s literally never been pushed intentionally… I wish the button didn’t exist or was at least some sort of “favorites” button to access your favorite app.
All-in-all, the device is just a glorified Roku. The only feature that set it apart from other similar devices was GameStream and that’ll be gone soon. Save yourself the headache of this device failing on you and opening Netflix at the worst possible times and just dont buy it.
Superlarz –
This product can be very laggy while viewing 4k content.
I would recommend spending the extra $50 and getting the pro verstion. If I could go back in time I would do the same, it would have easily saved $50 worth of annoyance

Honestly, not impressed. If you are going to have a product at the same price point as an apple tv 4k, it better compete. It just doesnt. Poor resolution UI sets a bad start, youtube didnt support HDR. It was fast and snappy but it was just missing thst next level experience. Picture was noisy on most apps. I honestly like my chromecast 4k more and it is 1/3 the cost. Unless you want to use its gaming features, buy the apple tv 4k instead.

NVIDIA – SHIELD Android TV – 8GB – 4K HDR Streaming Media Player with Google Assistant and GeForce NOW – Black is always a good choice.
Funbeads –
The remote works great. I don’t like the way it fits in my hand
kin137 –
wasn’t compatible with my older tv, so I had to return the item. AI up scaling is great.
JonF –
Great upgrade from a firestick! Better interface and speed! Smoother experience overall!
mglind –
This device works ok but I would advise you to spend a little more to get the Shield Pro as its advanced features and shape are worth the price. I returned this device to exchange it for the Pro model
Munkee –
Works great. Port layout is a little weird and makes it so you basically have to hide it somewhere so you dont see wires.
SCG21 –
Did some research prior to purchase and have no regrets. Device has alot of built in features which you’d need to download on other devices. Works very fast and navigation is a breeze. Have recomended this to many.
Robby –
The Best streaming device ever! Nvida shield. Fastest streaming device available
KPGraham –
I primarily got this streamer because of its sound pass- through capability. It’s the only one that will play Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio lossless sound when ripping up a movie from DVD and streaming through Plex. The Plex app that is fully supported on this or the Pro device. This head’s above any other device in that respect. The only problem I have with it is that I do have sound cut outs. Usually streaming 4K material from different stream providers.
Soulless –
Absolutely love the shield best product that I bought in a long time would recommend them to anyone
user275538 –
Best android streaming device I’ve ever owned besides the pro!
JoseC –
Simple easy to use, great item for cost , easy to operate
JeremyH –
The Nvidia Shield makes streaming easy. The voice navigation makes finding the program you want to watch easy. The color quality and upconversion to 4K is excellent. You can download and install any streaming service you want. The shelf is regularly updated to enhance the user experience. This is definitely worth purchasing.
Jeff –
Best streamer out there very easy to use highly recommend it
JessicaC –
The remote exploded in my hand a week after buying. Would recommend a different remote to control the shield. I would also recommend that tou go ahead and spend the money for the other shield. It has more input functions then this shield.
KevinN –
this device presents a smooth streaming experience, even when viewing 4K HDR content. There is no lag or buffering – just a seamless, engaging viewing experience. Physically, the device is sleek and compact, designed in a tube-like structure, hence the name.
MarkS –
Best streaming device on the market, hands down!!!
BS1966 –
I first bought a Shield TV a few years ago and greatly enjoyed it. I used it every day until it stopped working a few weeks ago. I only use it as an Android TV streamer, and it works very well in that capacity. It’s more expensive than most other Android TV devices, but being able to hard wire directly to my WiFi router is a big benefit.
LtDan –
Love it! By far best android box out there! Does get pretty hot tho
ShawnB –
Very poor device.
Spend the extra 50 and get pro.
This is not good quality
Nimeshp –
Good device with handy remote controller, but still struggling to get soundbar and subwoffer work with it get better use of sound capability.
Wayne –
Nvidia Shield is the best and most powerful android box.
RubenA –
It does what it’s supposed to do in a well looking package. It blends great with any decor. Only drawback is the ads card slot, not easily accessed.
FilbertoP –
Great device for a tv which is not able to download apps. Great for my dumb TV.
professor57 –
The shield is a great setup for streaming love the quality
CorneliusV –
I stop using t/4K fire stick it kept getting FULL because of advertising w/Amazon t/Shield is much better and less advertising and it doesn’t get full & I hope it stays that way..
Kimm –
Excellent purchase! Worth the money because the device actually saves you money in the long run. Within a couple months ; you already made your money back. Gee i wish i would have done this a long time ago!!! & setting up is a breeze!
HermanQ –
The best android box in the market runs so good i will buy another one
DavidW –
Thought this would be better than a roku or chromecast, but I have all three and this is by far the most buggy. Hulu fails to play certain shows via the in built app and only works if you cast from a device. Constant nagging issues (freezes, lags, restarts itself at inopportune times, etc), and occasional more major ones that stop everything working completely and will have you searching web forums for answers. Immensely more prone to issues than cheap streaming sticks. If you’re a tech savvy enthusiast and willing to put up with something that behaves more like a computer with poorly QC’d updates maybe there’s some benefits, but hard to find any upside for the average user.
Zakaria –
Excellent quality. Easy to install. Nvidia did a good job with this box. The software is stable and very fast.
FayFisher –
Great product. Great customer service with Dan I believe his name was. Very helpful. Thank you
GregC –
Great android streamer but has framerate issues on Amazon prime.
Straightshooter –
Excellent device. Works great much better connection since it has an Ethernet cable instead of WiFi only.
AfflictedNation –
Great Media stick. Handles all the streaming apps, and local content codecs, as well as streaming video games from pc.
I’ve got an original ShieldTV, and this is basically the same thing, but has a weird tube shape.
One great upgrade is the internal power supply, which means no brick sticking out of the wall. makes it much more portable if you want a media stick to travel with.
LordSlug –
The Nvidia sheild is a great streaming device. I love the fact. I can integrate with my home theater. And using Google assistant. To turn on & off the entire system. Awesome interface and menu.
DarrollS –
I exchanged for the 16k unit, more memory made more sense
RegNuf –
10 stars and counting… I love this box, you can watch anything and do so much with it..
Jeff –
A very good 4k streamer even thou the are newer other brands out there, nvidia is one of the best as they keep their hardware updated to the latest Android
skibaru –
I bought this Google TV from NVIDIA thinking it was going to be better then Apple TV device but I quickly found out that after a few days of use it started to be laggy. So I had return it and reinstalled my Apple TV back. I really wanted to use the Google TV since I’m an Android user but I have yet to find any good devices that are good
Badmoon –
Would be nice if had a power on LED to indicate when the unit is on or off. Streaming video freezes sometimes.
AioS –
Chromecast had been my “go to” casting device for a few years and it served it’s purpose. One day I said to myself, there has got to be more out there. Boy was I right! I ran across this little guy and shifted to another dimension. I had been sitting on a lawn chair on the moon when what I really wanted to do was go galavanting through the galaxy. That’s how big the difference is. I know that for the gamers this is now old tech but it hits the mark – no – created a NEW mark in my viewing experience. I highly recommend.
Alex –
Much faster than other streaming/casting devices i had before. Still works well but after a while i started to wish i bought the Pro version so if you’re on the fence don’t make my mistake.
DanielP –
Best streaming device. Menus are snappy and works well
user267072 –
Purchased on dec 1, 2023 & the remote is not responsive at all on dec 21. Called Best Buy & was routed to Global calling center because all stores are busy with the holidays. So it will cost me lots of incoveniences by taking time away from caring for my elderly disabled mother to return this in person. I trust that BestBuy will make things right with customers courtesey for fair compensation of unsatisfactory experience with product failure within a short time
RonS –
Much better than the Firestick! You get what you pay for!
LYBAL –
Nice value when you want Android TV, but don’t want to spend the extra money for a game console. Wish it had more memory to install more apps.
FidelJ –
Great product and savings are awesome !!¡!¡¡!¡!!!!!!!!!
