Broke on me after a year of usage!!! I didn’t even use this everyday. My capsules won’t brew anymore, and I’ve tried everything to get it working again. Sad case cause it was a great machine.

I bought this gift for my wife since she is a huge coffee drinker. So far this machine works great however there was a flaw we found. When utilizing the Nespresso side, the pods that were meant to fit didn’t not fit initially. When we dropped the pods in the slot it went in fine. However, when lowering the lever to engage the pod with the machine the pods kept getting crushed and not punctured properly. After months of manually adjusting the pods in the machine, the machine is finally worn down enough to properly utilize the pods without any crushing. I was not aware there was a break in period with the machine but other than that, it works well.

I was skeptical when I bought it as I dont really think of Ninja brand as making coffee makers. However after using it I love it. Definitely better than my Keurig. I like the fact it can make espressos too. No warm up time…its instant. No funny taste and the drip shut off is a nice addition. The only thing I dont like is the water jug is on the back and not the side but I dont see how they could put it on the side with the milk frother.

It’s nothing extra ordinary at the price. I feel the limitation of Nespresso pods is negative! They should have focused on k cup and nespresso together to earn a name. The frother just froths, there is no steamer to it. The coffee on espresso side is not as hot. If there are less expensive model I’d go for that.

Pros:
– all in one for espresso, coffee, and frother
– large water reservoir
– can hold a decent amount of used capsules
– uses the original Nespresso capsules so you have more options to buy them
Cons:
– inconsistent amount of espresso made. Lungo initially was 4oz. Within a few months only made 2oz. Ristretto shots were just a dribble in the cup. Multiple cleaning and descaling cycles did not remedy.
– eventually started to leak from underneath
– the coffee is honestly, not good. Using the same grounds I always have this was a significantly worse pot than my previous coffee maker (which was also a Ninja)
– had to swap it under warranty due to the leak, new machine was also inconsistent amounts of espresso
– randomly would decide it was out of water despite having a full carafe. Both machines did this, never figured out the rhyme or reason. replacement machine did it within the first few times I used it. Cleaning etc did not change this.
– flavor of the espresso is just OK. A little more bitter than expected. The same capsules get much better/smoother tasting espresso from other machines
Overall:
I ended up returning it and buying a completely different brand/model espresso machine plus a $40 basic coffee pot (for when we have company and need a whole pot) that makes MUCH better coffee than this model Ninja.

Only Con, the height when opening the lid for coffee grounds won’t fit under cabinet. Have it have it pulled out to put grounds in to brew but considering everything else it’s worth it

After brewing a cup or a pot of coffee it continues to drip even after it beeps that it’s done brewing. We purchased this December 2023 and I tried to recharge it January 2024. The employee said the only way she could take it and allow us to exchange it was if we paid $50 to become a member and then she’d allow it but that was the only way. The customer service is mostly the reason I’m giving it 1 star. Because I called ninja and they couldn’t believe it and are sending us a new one. Ninja customer service was great but giving this one start because Best Buy just wanted more money.

This is a very easy and nice machine to use, I got it to use for espresso but didn’t realize to use your own you need a re-usable pod or buy their pods. However the nespresso options out there are amazing and this bad boy brews a nice pot of coffee. Delay brew and all the works. Happy with the purchase.

There is nothing special about it, and, for the amount of money, the drip stop should work. If they can’t figure out how to make a Mr. Coffee with a good drip stop, avoid it.
