    Not much to say about this one. You need it if you want to still use your F-mount lenses after changing to mirrorlessZ-mount system. I don’t think there’s any loss in functionality (autofocus, VR, etc.). Just keep in mind the crop factor when shooting with a full frame Z-mount system. (For example, a 35mm f/1.8 on APS-C is roughly equivalent to a 50mm f/2.8 on a full-frame camera.) Best Buy should still be offering to reduce the price when bundled with a new camera body; otherwise, check other camera stores online to do a Best Buy price match (cough, Bravo & Hotel….) 🙂 Example shots are with a AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G mounted on a Nikon Z6 II with FTZ II adapter.

    It works as it’s supposed to, my critique won’t be about the device itself…my critique is that the adapter, Nikon, isn’t making the pics from the AS-F prime lenses as sharp as I expected

    The FTZ2 adapter does a great job of converting older Nikon AF-S lenses to be used with the Nikon Z cameras. It shares the same functionality with the original FTZ adapter but doesn’t have the hump on the bottom. This also means that it doesn’t have the tripod screw on the bottom as well but that’s not an issue at all. This adapter also does well with the older AF lenses, though you lose the autofocus capability. With manual lenses (pre-AI, AI, and AI-S lenses) I preferred to use a dumb adapter because of the hump on the FTZ but with the FTZ2 that’s no longer the case. It doesn’t matter if I use a dumb adapter or not, now.

    Worked great with my F lenses, didn’t see any difference in performance compared to the Z lenses.

    Version 2 doesn’t have the part on the bottom that always seems to get in the way. Works great.

    This adapter allows me to use my Af-s dx lenses on my Z50. The lenses work just as well as on my original d3500. I do think it’s a little pricy, but it’s still cheaper than buying all new lenses.

    Unable to use the product as the Z Mount cap appears to be fused to the adapter and can’t be removed. Need to bring back to store for exchange.

    Note: Am checking off Yes on “Would you recommend this product” as it is a necessary accessory I need for my camera. Don’t have a choice.

    It’s perfect! It saved me SO much money in lenses, and there is no difference with any lens I use. This is a game changer if you have F-mount lenses and a new Z-mount body.

    Nikon’s FTZ II adapter works as advertised, allowing full-featured use of most F-mount lenses on Z-mount cameras. One notable exception: this adapter has no AF motor, so it can not drive the mechanically coupled focusing mechanisms in older lenses which don’t have their own motor.

    Great for mounting older Nikkor lenses onto the Z9 body. No optical components so there is no distortion of images. it does make the lens longer so the balance is affected, but still worth the cost.

    Love this thing. I recently switched to mirrorless and didn’t want to not use my old lenses. This thing is smooth light not even noticeable. Auto focus works great with f mounts doing video. Not as quiet, as my z mount, but quick and smooth.

    Best Buy bundled this Z to F mount converter with the Z7ii special. Glad I brought it. Works great with my F mount G series lenses. It’s a must have to use the F mount lenses. The electronics work very well. Thank for the recommendation Best Buy.

    Great adapter. Love this second version, However, it lacks focusing for older screw driven lenses. It’s price for what it is feels rather too much. All it does is it communicates with lenses and provides power. How is it more than $150? not sure.

    As soon as I received the Nikon FTZ II adaptor I mountored it onto my 24-85mm nikon lens and then to the Z7II. It fits perfect and pictures were amazing.

    When I purchased the new Z8, I wanted to continue using some of my F Mount lenses from my D750. The mount works flawlessly with my F Mount AF VR lenses. It is heavy duty and very sturdy! If you want to continue using your F Mount lenses after upgrading to Z, I highly recommend this adapter.

    I use it on my Nikon Z8. Work as expected with my F mount full frame and DX lenses. They auto focus just as fast as they do on my D750. Older lenses without auto focusing motors like the old 50mm 1.4D will not auto focus on the new mirrorless cameras. Thats the only older lens i have so is not a big deal. Eventually will move to native Z lenses but in the mean time this will be of great use.
