    It’s a good camera. The Alexa part doesn’t work that great. I was hoping it’d be easy to talk to it to save a video, much like the Garmin, but not so much. If you don’t want or need that, it has good quality video.

    The dash cam fell off from my windshield while I’m driving. Not very happy about it. I don’t know what to do about it. It’s sitting on my dashboard

    Absolutely horrible. 16 months of glitching. I can no longer wifi connect to this camera to get files. I have to manually update it via a computer. Freezes randomly, the app glitches and loses connection. The first 3 months were wonderful, then it started going downhill. All you get from support is *buy our expensive sd card and it will work find*. Done it, didnt change anything in how it functions. Paperweight at best at this point. Reliability has been lost, dont trust it to function correctly when i truly need it to.

    Complete and utter garbage. Stay away from this brand. Just everything to get to work properly and just does what ever it wants. Glitching, freezing, shutting down all on its own.

    My Experience with nextbase 522gw, i have purchased 5 of these cameras for my 5 vehicles. After 8 months one off 522gw smoke coming out, i was very disappointed having paid top Dollar & top quality camera . I contacted the uk based nextbase they replaced new one. Today i have another camera stop working, call they technical department asked to do 5 different thinks so i did. I was asked to buy new sd card but still the same not recording.

    I got the dash cam 522gw nextbase last year and iv been having problems since I got it.
    I’m having problems with the stick on pads the camera it keeps on falling off. Iv cleaned the window multiple times and the camera just falls off really quickly. I’m not happy at all. Can anyone help me.

    This Dash Cam is awesome & a great price. All features work. I paid to have it hard wired so it works off the ignition – great choice & well worth it as they integrated the rear camera option at the same time.

    My only gripe (hence 4 stars) is that live view only works if you turn off data on your cell phone. It worked before the firmware update downloaded – beware!

    This unit is programmed to constantly seek my cell phone to store video on more than it is programmed to store on the micro card. Also, the release doesn’t work well at all to remove it from the holder on the windshield.

    Its okay i keep having to reset it which is really starting to make me mad and I’ve done everything right, i got the memory card i was supposed to, and i keep it charged because it dies in literally like 10 mins if that which is absurd and it records almost everything that happens which is good and the picture quality is great.

    Kind of disappointed with the 522GW dashcam. Bought it last weekend. The mobile app and the camera itself have this glitchy way of connecting if you can figure out how to understand the glitches with the basic procedure of doing it. Confused yet? I am too. The battery when fully charged will only last 10 to 15 minutes if it’s not being constantly charged. The battery will just drop…..quick! So be careful with that too. On a positive note it takes food quality video. About as good as what i would expect. It’s real use is to not worry about connecting it to your phone. Connect it to the charger stuck to your windshield and let it connect when you start your vehicle. If you need to save a video take the card out and save it on your pc. That’s the most beneficial part of this thing. Plus it also has a reset button for good reason. It locks up easy if you push too many buttons at a quick pace plus it gets warm quick. When that happens you have to push the reset button to start over and power it back up. More work than its worth in my opinion..

    Not great. Video quality seems good, but expect to format the sd card every 10 days or so, and it doesn’t sync to the app either. I should have stuck with Garmin

    Terrible camera. Broke in less than a year. Sent back to Nextbase, they replaced it with a “refurbished” camera, which was also defective. It wasn’t truly refurbished because I had to delete the previous owner’s information off the cam. Nextbase refuses to replace the camera again, and refuses to refund my money.

    This cam does provide a much better picture compared to other brands in its price range. Garmin does make a good cameras but for the price point this is better. The one model up from this does do 4K but its more expensive. This one wil capture license plates quite well. The only thing that lags with Nextbase is the app. Its not particularly great. Can be buggy and have connection issues frequently. If an event happens where you need the footage its best you plug the momory card into your computer and get it that way. Other than that get the hardwire kit and have the Best Buy folks install it. You will be glad tyou did.

    amazing dashcam!!! I have 7 of these in all of my trucks and I have never had a problem with any of them. The quality is outrageously good compared to other brands. A very high quality dashcam. Great connectivity to the app, my drivers use both Android and iOS, never had a problem. Highly recommended to any fellow dashcam lovers.

    Pickup at the store was quick, easy, and hassle-free. The 522 is exactly as described. I haven’t noticed the need for image stabilization, which is a feature on the 622. But 4K might be a reason to consider the 622 over the 522. Finer details, like license plate clarity, could be better. Otherwise, the video review is smooth; like watching a movie.

    Very nice dashcam video I really enjoyed it, I confidently recommend this product to the public, check out my review one of a driver hit my my car while I was driving on the street and he was trying to deny the incident but thank to my dashcam which I bought from best by and I take out the footage and I won I appreciate the help of my dashcam.

    One of the best dash cams. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star is its connection to the app. It works, but is a bit of a pain. This seems to be an issue with most every dash cam I’ve read reviews for. It’s not a deal breaker for me. I rarely use the app. The quality and use otherwise is top notch.

    This is our 4th dash cam of the same model. There are a lot of crazy drivers where we live. It’s worth catching all the crazy on video. It also withstands the insane temperatures in the windshield of our cars without issue. Wish it came with the suction mount like it used too.

    This dash cam is great when it works. Purchase this dash cam base on the reviews on YouTube and articles online “Top ten” kind of article. Got install by Geek Squad…it worked great until recently. The internal battery fail and will not longer charge. It will still work normally when driving but the parking mode and accident features will not work without the internal battery. In order to change the internal battery it is necessary to take it apart and unsolder 3 wires….that is not the hard part….the hard part is getting the battery….nobody in the US sells it…even Nextbase will not sell you one since they cannot ship lithium batteries out of the country. Nextbase is a company based in the UK so, no office or authorize dealers in the US that sells parts. So basically, people in the US after couple years…when the camera’s fail….and trust me ..it will. We need to buy another and hope for the best. So, do me a favor and stay away from this company products and buy something with US authorize dealers or base US companies….like Garmin…I hear they make good dash cams….at the very least you can buy parts and they are widely available. AVOID THE HEADACHES. You will thank me later.

    The camera is great! Quality is really good, and the microphone is amazing as well. Unfortunately, mine stopped working after 2 years of constant use. Unsure if due to heat or overuse.

    Yes, it works as it should most of the time it does have an issue sometimes where it doesn’t seem to wake up and you have to reset it every once in a while but other than that, it’s been a great Dashcam over the last eight months

    Do not buy this dashcam.
    Mine is dead (flat battery kills it even when supplied with vehicle power)
    The manufacturer will not fix units out of warranty, sell a replacement battery for install, or refer buyers to a seller of comparable batteries. This unit was installed with always on power in my vehicle. The battery was flat dead in just over a year (warranty 1 yr). It is not replaceable without soldering and the Lithium-Polymer 3.7V / 320mAh has 3 leads and is very difficult to source. I have been working with there tech support for two weeks and they are now able to tell me they are sorry but it is out of warranty and will not help me find a seller for the replacement battery. According to the internet these battery failures are not uncommon.
    I got the camera 2 mounts rear camera with long cable. All useless as the camera is DEAD. Huge waste of money.

    This camera works great. I installed myself using the optional hardwire kit. I wired to a circuit that is continually on so that the camera would be recording when parked. The suburban battery has drained (become dead), and a battery booster was required to get it started. Next week an automotive repair shop will be diagnosing this issue to determine if it is the camera that is causing a dead battery.

    I was happy with my Nextbase 522gw at first, and it worked well for the first year and a half. Now the screen has colored static on it, and the camera at times will not record. I discussed the issues with Nextbase customer support, which is rather slow to respond. They questioned my micro SD card, thinking it was bad. I replaced it, and the camera still malfunctions. Next they had me do a routine batter test, which proved that the battery was no longer holding a charge. This is considered a “consumable item”, and was not covered under warranty anymore. They did provide a battery description for me to try to locate on my own, but they cannot provide a link to purchase nor do they sell the batteries in the USofA. As of now, I cannot find a replacement battery, anywhere. How ridiculous is it that this device needs a new “consumable item” such as a battery but you cannot purchase one anywhere? I have let Nextbase customer support know that I am not at all a happy customer. They couldn’t care, they discontinued the email conversation. Going forward, I will always have at least one dashcam in each of my 3 vehicles. However, none will be Nextbase. I cannot support a business that cannot offer anything better in product/customer support.

    After 2 years-5 months of use, Battery no charging, the camera is constantly turning off, emailed Manufacturer Customer Service, they said out of warranty so they can not replace it or send a new battery. This is very incredible, only 2 years and a half of using it for a $200 dollars dashboard camera is not acceptable, I dont know how BestBuy sells that kind of junk, the dashboard cameras that EBay sells for $15 dollars last longer. I even purchased from BestBuy a warranty for 1 year but also expired. Im attaching the email with the response from the manufacturer customer service.
