I have been looking for a dash cam and debating for year plus now, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to drop $500 plus or buy a cheaper one and then I found Nextbase. This is an excellent camera and very easy to use and set up. Picture quality is great in day and night even at 1080P. I recommend buying the hardwire kit to enable it to turn on and off with car, as well as charge why you are driving! The app functionality is super useful as well. Coming from an insurance agent background, having a dash cam is a SMALL investment to save you A LOT of money and give you piece of mind! Protect yourself and your car with Nextbase! Highly recommend. The magnetic feature is clutch as well!

I have to reconnect the camera in the app to get any video footage. The app only works when I’m in my car in the driveway and that’s if I can’t actually get it to connect after trying 10 times.

No accessories included. Do you want the camera to record? Must buy the memory card separately. Wiring kit? Sold separately. Secondary camera? Make sure you select one that has a good view. At the end, you pay more.

The suction cup that holds the camera to the windshield pulls too hard splitting itself on one side, and falls off the windshield. Had first camera 3 days before it happened. Returned it, and the second one only lasted about 2 hours before it fell down.

Didnt like the fact it didnt make continuous video. It makes a bunch of 15 second or so videos as you drive along. Id prefer the type that just records constantly, rather than in snippets. not something youd like to have as a youtuber recording for uploads.

I researched prior to buying the Nextbase 322GW with rear dashcam. Had a couple of minor issues that support helped me to overcome. The dashcam was straight-wired into my fusebox to turn one when I cranked up my car. However, about 3 months past the warranty, it started doing strange things:
1) It no longer connected to my phone
2) It no longer turned on when I cranked up my car.
3) It no longer turned off when I cut my car off.
If I left the dashcam on after turning cutting the car off, it would stay on, which it is not suppose to do.
If the dashcam is already off and I crank up my car, it would remain off instead of turning on like it should.
If the dashcam was left on after cutting the car off (since it quit turning off when I cut the car off), it would turn OFF the next time I crank the car up.
I finally got the dashcam to connect to the phone but it still does not cut on/off like it should and I have to manually cut it on after cranking the car up.
I contacted support and they tried to trouble shoot. I have over $400 in this set up and I am not happy with what it is doing now. I emailed support and voiced my opinion about how I felt they should correct this by replacing my dashcam, which I felt was the right thing to do. They could not solve the problem and did not know what was causing it.

Do not waste your money. Believe the bad reviews. Ive had this for about 2 years. One year in, the I started finding it on the floor of my vehicle. That happened for a couple of months before all the suction cup material melted, dry rotted and crumbled to its death. The camera gets hot…really hot..like you could injure yourself hot. It records fine for about a year then…whenever it wants to. It doesn’t connect to its own app. It constantly asks for the SD card to be re-formatted…then it stops recording after a couple of minutes. Recently its begun to make a high pitched beep BEEP BEEP until unplugged. Over all sucky especially for the price.

Great quality for how inexpensive it is. Already saved another driver by sending them a video of an accident they were involved in. Easy, affordable great product. Audio is great, video is great. (Photos are screenshots of a meteor falling to earth that I got on my dash cam)

Ive had this cam now for 3 yrs. 1st issue i had was the wifi transfer to my phone never working, 2nd was the battery that went bad in the 1st year, 3rd is the random having to reboot the cam due to locking up or screen going black or white. Overall this cam is still working but would not have chosen this one, i have other cams that are 5+ yrs old that have never had any issues.

I love this! I use it everyday and it has helped so much! It has great sight and video quality as well. I would buy another if I had to!! Downside is that the app and nextbase dash cam have to “link” to each other while the nextbase is on/plugged in and takes quite a bit of time to “download” the videos onto the app, which was quite annoying after an incident where I really needed the footage right away. It probably took a solid 30 minutes for the dashcam and my phone to communicate and download the footage.

This is a perfect dashcam s long as you don’t ever need to review the footage. I’ve had 2 of these and trying to connect to them with the Nextbase software is nearly impossible. It’s a nightmare trying to get the camera to connect to your phone. Additionally, my first device expanded because of the heat (or something) and pushed out the screen. Stay away!

Worked for a few years but randomly won’t record. Turns on, I have the same high speed memory card I always did that worked, I formatted the memory, factory reset the device, tried plugging it into a power source in my house, for a new high speed memory card, formatted that…it just will not let me hit the record button. It sometimes acts like it’s recording for a minute or less upon startup. It’s like the camera is corrupted itself. Very odd. My Best Buy didn’t have a staffed bay for awhile so I couldn’t get it fixed and never heard back about another store getting me in.

this is super device…great image recordings of both front and rear of your car. provides back up w/ use of sd card and standard back-up on camera alone. audio recording is also a nice added feature. great buy for cost!!

I purchased this Aug 30, 2021, it started having issues mid-May, 2023. I could never get my phone to find the camera after it was paired days later, I would have to un-pair then re-pair the phone to connect even though my phone was on the pair list. That’s fine, minor inconvenience. Camera has a battery not a capacitor. If it is freezing (32-35 degrees Fahrenheit) or warm, camera will shut off. I am in the Pacific Northwest near the Canadian border where heat does happen but not often. 85 to 90 degrees will make the camera turn off. I do have the rear camera option attached to the main unit, not the wired camera that you run to the back of the vehicle. Ok, deal with it. It is now less then 2 years and the camera just cycles on and off by itself. Resetting, reformatting the SD, removing the fuse (it is hard-wired), and doing a complete charge and reboot does nothing. For the price paid, the camera should last longer than just over a year in a half. I gave 2 stars because there is a function for it to show speed as a screen saver when driving which was excellent and I greatly enjoyed as I could see it clearly with where the camera was mounted. If only it would have lasted longer in a mild climate. I really love this camera and the quality of videos and options, but I can’t recommend due to the failure of the camera in the timeframe I’ve had it.

Video quality is okay but not great. I would recommend upgrading to the higher definition version if you can afford it. I am really disappointed in the sound quality of this little camera, which is horrible. I really don’t think I would buy another one.

Bought this dashcam with same brand sd card but noticed that it stops recording after a certain amount of time. After that it won’t record new videos at all unless you format sd card. Contacted support and was told that they recommend formatting sd card once a week or every two weeks. After I formatted sd card, same thing happened again.

Battery not consumer serviceable. If involved in an accident you risk losing power and losing captured video. Battery is wired and wires are soldered onto board. Not a big deal if you know how to solder but this specific battery cannot be sourced from US as Nextbase is in UK and UK does not ship batteries to US as I was told by Nextbase Support Rep. This battery design was not an accident. Fooled me once. Will not buy again.
