NAD – D 3020 V2 Hybrid Digital DAC Amplifier with Bluetooth – Black $240.00 Save:$134.00(36%)
Description
  • Reinventing an Icon
Offering an excellent quality 24/192 DAC with 8 channels mixed to 2 for improved resolution, the D 3020 V2 represents the same kind of value-bending innovation that gave the original 3020 its legendary overachieving phono stage.
  • Connected
The D 3020 offers Coaxial and optical inputs. There are also analogue inputs including a MM Phono input. This Phono stage includes highly accurate RIAA equalization, an Infrasonic Warp Filter, and features both high overload margins and extremely low noise.
  • Power
Power output may sound small at 30W per channel, but like all NAD amplifiers, a properly designed 30W amplifier can sound superior to a 100W amplifier. The D 3020 astounds many for its ability to drive loudspeakers to satisfying levels without adding noise or distortion.
  • Performance
The D 3020 lives up to this promise through a unique implementation of NAD PowerDrive™ that allows low impedance drive and high dynamic power at vanishingly low distortion levels.
  • Bluetooth
The D 3020 V2 delivers the convenience of wireless streaming with its Bluetooth® capability. Stream all your music from a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. The D 3020 even supports the highest audio quality Bluetooth, aptX®, which is becoming ever more popular for its sound quality.
  • Mean and Green
The D 3020’s highly efficient design wastes less energy, requiring only 20% of the power needed by traditional Hi-Fi amplifiers. Standby power consumption is a miniscule 0.5W. NAD has taken amplification to new lows, with lower distortion, lower noise, and lower power consumption.

  1. NicR

    Fantastic sound, lots of problems.

After I first set it up the first thing I noticed was how poor the remote was at controlling the device. I use this as an amp for a 2.1 speaker setup for a home PC. Even at point blank the remote sometimes fails to register clicks. When increasing and decreasing volume, unless I hold the buttons down for long periods of time It will not register more than half of the clicks, making it impossible for small changes. I resigned myself to controlling the sound through other means as the remote was simply too cheap. After I first experienced this I should have just returned it right away as it was the preamble for what was to come.

Next, this device goes to sleep if “unused” or if no sound is being sent to it for more than about 15 minutes. I think this is due to the fact that it runs HOT. It’s basically a mini heater that NEEDs to be set upright or it will overheat. When I’m using my PC there can be long stints where I’m not using sound, and then when I do turn music or a video on the device has shut itself off. So, I have to turn it on again with the finicky remote. This frustrating dance was happening several times a day before I ended up calling NAD and learning it’s instead supposed to enter sleep mode and not shut itself OFF.

After firmware updates and some more troubleshooting, I was fortunately able to get it to enter sleep mode instead, so it would wake itself up when I needed it. I was happy for a while since the remote was such a pain to work with.

It was working good enough for my set up once this issue was resolved UNTIL, after 6 months of use it fails to turn on, flashes red, and turns itself back off. According to their troubleshooting guide it has been bricked.

Started horrible, finished worse. This device is my most expensive audio hardware regret.
