it works fine. i’m not a demanding user, just use it around the 10 acre property so i am not able to test it’s distance capability too well. And I dont use the headsets
pros:
1. seems to hold a charge fairly well and thr voice transmission quality seems fine for the short distances i use it.
cons:
1. one of the two units has a microphone that seems to take longer to activate than the other and always cuts off the first words of a transmission to the other unit.
2. i did buy for the NOAA weather alerts also, and the quality of the channels is pretty bad where i live. It might not be a function of this unit, I may just be too far from the nearest broadcast station, but i was hoping for better since this is tornado area.
3. navigating the menu’s and trying to follow the instructions in the manual is too hard. i followed instructions to enable the weather, but then took me quite a while to set both radio’s to a secure channel to talk. i’m not sure i ever got the privacy codes or group codes to work. but the 2 radios communicate and i havent heard anyone else on the channel so that is probably good enough. Needs an online manual where descriptions can be more detailed with pictures. Better yet, take a lesson from those inexpensive car diagnostic pods which have complex menus but seem so much more intuitive than the setup on these units.

Like the fact they are waterproof and they have been durable. Charge lasts for a decent amount of time.

These are great! We will be using them while camping in August at High Cliff State Park!
Hamed –
The radio is great but it’s not that much range in the city
maybmay –
it works within the walls of our builiding and the 5 story parking garage for the valets, managers, cashiers, and car wash people.
Bennykhan –
Been looking for a good one for a while now I have found it.

A very nice portable communication device for its price
It works spectacular and built quality looks very nice. I highly recommend this to all who is looking for a two way radio
Pnf2018 –
This hand held radio is great for road trips or emergencies and has good range.
DaPreacher –
Great product except for the earpiece. Had issues adjusting and after messing with it, it broke off. Its not comfortable but it serves its purpose.

Works great love the range in the forest gets choppy around 3 miles with the trees but in open field no problem with 5 to 8 mile clear talk wished you could charge it going down the road and I recommend getting rechargeable batteries.

First and foremost, you need a GMRS license to use these on the GMRS channels legally. It’s not hard and it’s not too expensive. That out of the way, these are a blast with great range and clarity. More features than most will need, but nice to have when I eventually have free time to set them up properly. All the accessories are outstanding as well. Highly recommended for boating, driving caravans, and general oitdoor communications.
HamFan –
Lousy instructions in tiny print. They work well over a few miles without significant obstruction. Trees and buildings do limit range, however.
The battery indicator is not reliable but they hold a charge for a long time, certainly for a day of use.

We traveled from Texas to Louisiana with me following my husband to our new camp site for his new job. These Midland Radios worked perfect.

I had been researching for a walkie-talkie since my last trip to Europe due that my wife got lose Adirondack a tour and it came to my mind that we did a walkie-talkie to maintain our communication that this situation will not occur again. After been making a research about walkie-talkie it came that this one was one of the best at the market.
I buy this one and so far as a trial it had been working excellent. We are going to try to use it more frequently before we go again abroad and use it every time we made a tour .
So far so good
TFarm –
Excellent bundle to ensure you can communicate with those you need.
Breakingwind –
Not the range and battery life I was expecting. The weather channel is handy.
nukEmAll –
Good range and has Weather Band. Ease of use is there as well. The charging cradles are solid and you can charge in your car. Lots of good write ups about Midland as being good. I have to agree. these work as expected. Range for me while driving in North Dakota has been good at about 6 miles from next car.
Gofishpro –
We use these on the farm and they work great. Will buy an other set soon

Meatman –
Good quality. Seems to work as should. Have 300 acres and I’ve been able to communicate well the amount I’ve gotten to use them so far. I’d say they’re worth the money.
StefanieS –
Haven’t used these yet tested them when I first got them and they worked great around the neighborhood, but got them for a “go bag” cuz in todays time you just never know!
