    The technicians did not have to use the dashboard Radio installation kit, they transferred the factory brackets and worked well with the unit. I was given a full refund on the Metra Dashboard kit.

    For a 2005 Toyota Matrix XR AWD I had to modify the brackets to fit. Original screws that held the Toyota radio in didn’t quite fit (too short) and the holes were offset. Had to drill bigger holes and install screws and washers I had in the garage. Duct tape was involved. I am not proud… but I kinda am because it worked long enough for her to get a different car and the kit I bought for that was spot on! Anyway, if you’re doing it yourself expect some issues possibly.

    This item worked perfect on my stereo, your stereo practically uses the factory mounting brackets and this item basically mounts on to the sides of your stereo to cover the gap that is left open on both sides of stereo to make it seamless. I used it on an 2006 Scion XB

    Best Buy auto stereo shop in Mission Valley did a great install of a Pioneer touchscreen double-DIN in my Scion. This kit made for a sturdy install in my dash — totally sturdy! No vibration at all and deck doesn’t move when I control it with the touchscreen

    Works just fine for the Sony install in our 2012 Scion XB. The only thing is that the new head unit doesn’t sit flush.

    I don’t think that is the fault of this bracket, but the size of the Sony, which has a larger screen.
