    I am not sure if I had to use this or not. I know that I do have some kind of antenna wire left over, but I had both the stereo and the SiriusXM receiver… perhaps there was one that came with each? Any way, I am thrilled with my new music maker

    If you are buying an After Market radio you will need this After Market antenna because the factory antenna has poor reception with an Aftermarket radio . I learned the hard way

    I’m glad I spoke to someone who was very knowledgeable about the extra components that were needed for the radio installation. Though I’m not good with electronics and installations. I know the employee who I spoke with me, I unfortunately can’t remember why this exact antenna was needed, maybe the xmradio? I’m unsure. My regular radio antenna is still on the outside of my Jeep wrangler, so maybe it is for the xmradio. My apologies for not being able to explain more for people who are looking for components. All I know is the installation was completed, everything is working perfectly and having no issues. Just enjoying my new radio, with all the features I was looking for.

    This works as expected. Simple plug and play. I purchased a Ram 1500 having an aftermarket radio. It worked fine for bluetooth but offered no radio reception. Turns out the previous owner did not connect the antenna cable. This Metra adapter solved the connection differences between the aftermarket radio and factory antenna.
