The McAfee – Mobile Security (1 Device) Antivirus Internet Security Software has a number of features that are in-step with modern lifestyles.
For a long time, McAfee has been known as one of the premier, go-to sources for computer protection. In the beginning, virus protection was its main feature and computers its primary platform. Over time, McAfee has added a number of features providing security from both viruses and internet intrusions. In recent years, McAfee’s security software has expanded to mobile platforms and includes ID Monitoring.
Having security software on your phone has, unfortunately, become an issue that needs to be seriously considered. If you’re like me, you’re finding yourself using a smartphone for more and more tasks which used to be done on a laptop or desktop computer. Along with that comes the need to be more security conscious of our mobile devices – especially with issues of identity theft or access to private personal information.
McAfee – Mobile Security (1 Device) Antivirus Internet Security Software is all about addressing these issues. Along with it’s award-winning antivirus protections, McAfee has added:
* A secure VPN that automatically turns on to protect your personal data and credit card info.
* This includes the option for the VPN to only ‘kick-in’ when you are connecting to a Wi-fi network that is less secure.
* Browsing protection that warns of risky websites before you click.
* Monitoring of up to 10 emails to alert you when you need to act to protect your information.
* A unique ‘Protection Score’ feature which shows your overall security score and guides you to the next steps needed to improve that score.
* I find this feature very helpful as a kind of ‘to do’ list for improving my overall ID security.
My smartphone actually offers a number of these features built into its system. However, they’re scattered all over the system settings, separated by numerous clicks, and hard to keep track of in a simple, overall way. McAfee – Mobile Security brings it all together and offers its industry-standard quality.
A couple things to remember:
* This particular version is for One Device Only!
* The included ‘free subscription’ becomes a Paid Subscription after 1 year.
If you’re looking for solid, trusted ID protection (and Anti-virus protection) for your mobile device, McAfee Mobile Security is a good choice.

FEATURES:
It can scan your WiFi to see if it is secure or not. Along, with set the VPN to either be toggled manually, with low security Wi-Fi networks automatically only, or all Wi-Fi networks automatically. Which I would say is the main feature of this software. Unfortunately, the VPN is only limited to 500 MB per month. These days going through 500 MB isn’t hard. Making it so you’d have to really watch what you are doing when on the VPN network (or not do it very often). And especially, if it was on 24/7 you’d go through it quickly.
It can scan your device for vulnerabilities and if found remove it. However, they mention that it requires you to either restart your device, which is fine. Or reset your device… which would solve the issue anyways. Android is more open source leaving it more vulnerable. Where I would say this may be a worthy investment for that. But I don’t see the point of having this for iOS. As it is so locked down and closed off anyways that your device becoming infected would be difficult and you’d have to almost go out of your way. But I could also be completely wrong about that.
Safe browsing will scan the websites you go to and if they find something questionable will stop it. If you’re an influencer, someone who isn’t great with tech, or someone who opens a lot of attachments or things from emails this could be beneficial. But for standard educated users I’m not sure how much it would help.
CONCLUSION:
Overall, it is easy to setup. It appears to work. But for iOS I don’t see the point of having this software. But think for Android with it being more open source you’re at increased risk (unless if that has changed, it has been a while since I’ve used Android) that this software may behoove you. But in general, would only recommend for power users, or uneducated users, who use their mobile devices for everything and often open sketchy things, go to sketchy websites, or are using unprotected networks often. Though in that case you’ll likely want to get a VPN with more data per month. But in common McAfee fashion it will constantly try to sell you a bunch of other things from them. As it appears that everything is behind a Paywall. Which can be frustrating. Making me hesitant to recommend for most people. If I could give it 3.5/5 Stars I would.

McAfee now offers more than just antivirus for computers.
I installed this on my kids mobile phone as it is no longer supported with anymore security updates by Android.
I downloaded and I was setup in max 10 mins. I allowed to do full scan and it found potential threats.
User interface on Android was super easy to use and navigate through. No issues. Easy to toggle and do scans and follow the various options and menus.
My kid’s phone is used to browse YouTube and websites on his phone so he has a high chance of clicking on a bad link and messing up his phone.
Another option is to use the VPN tunneling function to help encrypt and keep hackers out of your phone. If you do banking on your phone I would recommend that you use VPN to add an additional layer of protection.
With so much hacking and cyber crimes that are so prevalent these days, I would highly recommend this product for another line of defense. I always recommend to use best practice in being mindful of what you do online.
I would recommend this product for what it says it does.

McAfee has been a staple in antivirus software since the tender ages of personal computers. That has given them an edge and a massive amount of know-how in terms of keeping user’s data safe. Now, with the ever-growing personal data we save on our smartphones, it might be time to have a look at what McAfee has to offer in order to protect our handy, electronic do-it-alls.
Their mobile security suite does just that. It’s a precious aid to keep your info safe from fraud or theft. Here’s what it does right and what doesn’t work so well.
Pros:
+ Complete suite of tools, no need to purchase any other protection
+ A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is included which will prevent websites to track you and collect information
+ ID Monitoring will keep an eye on possible breaches which could affect the safety of your remotely stored data and accounts
+ It’s also an antivirus which removes and prevent infections
+ Clear and simple interface
+ Easy to set up and use
Cons:
– The VPN drops randomly and triggers notifications
– Certain functions require an additional payment to activate
– May drain your phone’s battery slightly more (nothing catastrophic, but I was able to confirm that my phone’s battery positively drained faster after the installation).
Frankly, I would advise everyone to start protecting their smartphones and the data it holds. New exploits, scams and other pests are showing up almost on a daily basis. Neglecting to secure your data can lead to really bad situations you probably want to avoid. McAfee has done a pretty good job with its Mobile Security Suite and I can recommend it, even though it’s not flawless. Your peace of mind is worth it.

Being online is not what it used to be with every service getting hacked it can be stressful trying to figure out how to protect your personal data. And it is not just that anymore that you have to worry about with services you sign up for charging you and then making even more money off of you by selling your personal information. It truly is enough to make a person paranoid.
I decided to get McAfee mobile security because my device is where I pretty much do everything. It practically has replaced my desktop and tablet for simple tasks. With what does McAfee offer that some competitors do not offer. They offer VPN to protect your data and location from being tracked, they also offer identity monitoring. I had made the mistake of using an old password across all the websites I was using during that span of time and I paid dearly and got hacked on so many websites.
I like to shop online, mobile banking and other important and leisure activities. And with this offering by McAfee, it can help better protect your mobile device whether you are at home or at Starbucks. It will protect you on the mobile network you use or on Wi-Fi. The app is easy to use and is self-explanatory but don’t fret it walks you through everything so you can understand what you are doing and looking at.
The app has a points system where it grades you based on features enabled and how often you use the app to check on your device. That is nifty if you ask me it is a good way to look at just how well your device is doing.
If you need protection from online threats and I believe we all do then have a look at this service and pick up a subscription.

Keeping our personal information safe is one of the most important tasks nowadays, since by giving access through our phone to different companies and websites to our personal data, such data is at a latent risk.
McAfee offers protection, relatively basic you might say, at an affordable price. A one year subscription that protects a single device (you have to take this into account) that allows you to have antivirus, safe web browsing, vpn, WiFi scan and the option to check if your email has been part of a recent breach.
Regarding the antivirus, fortunately I haven’t had any infected files or apps but I still do a constant check for security. Regarding the vpn it fulfills its propuse, personally I have activated the function to use it only in unknown or public networks, since also from the app you can scan a wifi network and if it is safe save it in a list of safe networks and thus only use the vpn in those that are not or where security is very low. I also checked my email and it turns out that some of my data was compromised in some pages that had such information, so I could go to the corresponding pages with the help of the app and change my password, I consider this a very useful feature.
The app is user friendly and intuitive, you have everything on the main screen with access to the most relevant settings and options, you can upgrade the subscription if you need to protect more devices and have a slightly higher level of security.
In summary I would say that this affordable subscription is a good alternative for those who use their phone to surf the internet and download various files, visit different places with access to public wifi or simply want to keep their device safe with an antivirus, vpn and be able to check if their personal data is safe

McAfee Mobile Security is great for protecting PCs. It gives virus protection, ID protection, tracker remover, and more. Used on many of my PCs for the time being letting you do real-time scans and create’s firewalls. Does the standard job of scheduled scans for Windows 11. Comes with a year of protection without worry. The app is easy to navigate with clear and bold directions to what each feature does. McAfee Protection Center allows you to check and see how safe you are online. Find weak spots in security to take them out.
McAfee also supports iOS, Android, and Chrome devices. So no matter what you get it on it should work fine. There are other basic security PC apps out there but McAfee has been around for a while and take the PC protection business seriously. So far its been placed on 3 of my devices including a laptop for a friend. QR code provided can give you quick acces to the devices you use. Random notifcations are annoying but can be turned off. There are ways and tips on feedback to help you imporve security.

Having a mobile security app installed on a phone is very important as we use our phone not only to communicate but also to conduct financial transactions, make purchases and store our private data. Mobile security and internet breaches by malware attacks, phishing, internet intrusion and confidential data leaks are real so anyone who uses a mobile phone or has accounts on the internet (who doesn’t?) should really consider having a mobile security app.
I’m using the McAfee app on my iOS device. The app comes with many useful features to protect our mobile phone from malware and online threats as well as letting us know if our confidential data is floating somewhere in the net. The menu interface is also easy to use and self-guiding. There’s the quick actions menu that provides easy access to security feature that the app recommends us to review and the security center, which gives us quick access to all important features of the app.
The basic function of the app is to protect our phone from malware and virus attack, this is always happening in the background and active. There are important features of the app that require us to interact from the quick action menu in order to make use of them. The VPN feature is very useful when we use public Wifi as it will conceal our connections from the unduly prying of data by hackers. We can also setup our network as trusted network. The VPN feature also let us to set other location around the world as our virtual location, which is useful when we want to access local websites from a particular country that sometimes require local ip address.
The app also gives us information on data breaches that floats our confidential data on the internet. There are many apps and websites that are supposedly safe in storing our data but sadly data breaches are facts of life. Some of the popular apps and websites have been subjected to data breaches that even passwords can get leaked. The app is very useful by letting us know if our confidential data is being leaked in those breaches so that we can change our password or take other actions appropriately. I like it that the app let us to add more email to monitor for breaches. The app is also clever enough to let us know if a newer version of our phone software is available to install.
As we use the app more often and utilize many of its useful features, the app will raise the protection score that appears in the home screen of the app. It’s a useful system that reminds us to improve the security of our device.

Setup is simple and the application is configured very well. You get all the needed mobile security tools in one packaged. The Security Center displays your overall security score and you can drill down to see what can be done to increase the security on your device. Antivirus scans can be initiated as needed or set to scan at a certain time each day. You can set to scan only new files and also select applications to add to a trusted list. This greatly speeds up scans. Wi-Fi networks can be set to automatically be scanned and get notifications if security is weak. Secure VPN can be set to automatically enable on unsecure wireless networks. I really like the fact that can set trusted networks so that VPN does not connect to these automatically. You also have Safe Browsing that can be turned and will notify if you an internet site you are connecting is possibly unsafe. Identify Monitoring can be enabled to monitor you personal information, such as email addresses, to inform you if was identified in a breach. With all the features this software includes, each is explained very well and there are helpful hints provided to increase your security knowledge. I feel that my device is fully protected and this is one of the best mobile security options available from a trusted name.

I was a little skeptical of McAfee Mobile Security, because on iOS you “think” you are safe but after several days of use, I am a believer. There’s a lot of little ways your information just leaks out, even on iOS including your location or the risks of randomly connecting to free WiFi in various stores. McAfee Mobile Security made me more aware of this and I would consider myself technical and savvy, but we all get lazy and just go for convenience. McAfee Mobile Security is like having your mom stand next to you and go “do you think you should be doing that?” and to be honest, it’s the kind of discipline many people need. In fact, as a package, McAfee Mobile Security is incredibly good value and I will buy it without hesitation for my parents and kids – because I really think they need the extra pair of eyes keeping them safe online. Like safe browsing is actually really good on a mobile because so many times website addresses are hidden and not fully displayed in your mobile browser, so how can you know if it’s safe or legit? The included indentity monitoring is also great – I still can’t get over what a great value package this is and definitely recommend it.
The only little frustrations. The VPN limit is low and most average users would burn through it in a week. So I wouldn’t recommend this as a full time VPN alternative. I also can’t work out how (or if) you can upgrade the VPN with more data, I think you just need to upgrade to a full VPN package but it’s not super clear and I have been careful not to hit the 500Mb limit so not sure what happens when you do. Also, the iOS security scan is just do you have the latest version and a passcode set – it can’t deep check for sketchy apps (that’s Apple’s fault and limitation, not McAfee). Even then, I would still recommend McAfee.

So I’ve been using McAfee Mobile Security +VPN for the past week and a half on my iPhone and have been putting it through its paces. This particular version is for iOS devices or Android devices. Downloading and installing on my iPhone 14 Pro Max went without a hitch and I was up and running in no time. Simply go to the App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android and download the app. Once downloaded, setup your account and you’re set. The app is very easy to use and comes with a number of options that allow you to tweak to your liking. Once you load up the app, you’ll be greeted with the following:
Quick Actions:
Add another email to monitor for in security breaches.
Security Center:
Protection Score – lets you know how well you’re protected from online threats.
Scan Wi-Fi Connection – lets you know how strong/weak your Wi-Fi security is and how to fix it.
Scan System – scans your device for any possible security threats.
Secure VPN – allows for more secure and private connections.
Safe Browsing – alerts you if/when you come across risky websites.
Identity Monitoring – notifies you if/when any of your personal information is breached across the web.
I’ve been using this app for a little while now and thankfully I’ve not come across any threats to my data and my connections have been secure. The app is very straightforward and easy as pie to use.

This is a review of McAfee – Mobile Security (1 Device) Antivirus Internet Security Software + VPN + ID Monitoring (1 Year Subscription) – Android, Apple iOS, Chrome [Digital].
The is handy but only basic coverage to protect from security risk while using mobile devices. It include option to Wi-Fi Scan, System Scan, Secure VPN, Safe Browsing, and Id Monitoring.
Except of VPN services, the rest are preventive than actionable to address the risk I my view. First as connecting to wifi in any coffee places for instance, and browsing are common situation that with WiFi Scan and Safe Browser can lower the risk of being hacked or install virus.
For ID monitoring is basically what data has been breached and warning to address it by taking action as the user, not by the the McAfee service which require additional paid service.
Regarding VPN service, it offer 38 countries to connect from + one generic for Fastest. Previous to activating it ask to accept terms that McAfee use some of personal data and network that is connected on. Afterward, it is simple to activate and select from what countries to connect.
During the usage of VPN, I find that often can’t access to certain known business sites unless I disconnect from WiFi or unable the VPN and open the site and then activate back. Also, noticed certain emails from known business or organizations doesn’t show the content that makes bit upsetting moment.
Furthermore, while leaving the device for the night with VPN enabled, next morning happen that the VPN is disabled.
The application is good to have and helpful from preventive action. Although it has some funky way the VPN works, but still serve well the purpose.

This is a nice security solution for anyone just looking to protect 1 device. I wanted to test this out to see how it stacked up against some of the other security solutions I have used.
The software setup was fairly straightforward, the only part that had me scratching my head was the Identity theft monitoring. It had me popping out to a couple of other websites to setup. I had to do these steps a couple of times in order for it to work properly.
So the obvious limitations here are that it is only for a single device, so if you need to portect more than one device you are going to have to look elsewhere or upgrade to a multidevice solution. Another limitation for some is the Limited VPN, again for 1 device and you also have a limit on data usage. I think this is meant to be used by someone who uses light data on their mobile data plan. If you are one to stream video and music quite a bit, and want to leave the VPN on, you are gonna consume that VPN data allowance fairly quick.
The virus protection is nice, interface works well. The identity theft was a little confusing to setup, but once on it’s fine. Again the limitations are the one device license, and the limited VPN uage. If that is ok with you then this might be the security solution for you.

I am someone that has always had malware protection on my phone because I think phones are definitely a less protected attack vector in a home. I’m not someone that fully believes in either the fruit company or the search company having full investment in my security. I know that when I pay someone to protect my device, they’re kinda on the hook to do that one thing!
So, I was stoked to try out McAfee Mobile Security! I have no problem rotating my malware protection every year to try out what is out there and be more familiar with the various protection companies’ solutions.
I uninstalled my current Android malware protection and installed McAfee and I wasn’t very impressed with what I saw at first. I think the interface really looks like it should be on a PC vs a mobile device. I have a foldable so my expectation for a modern subscription based software is that the base app is going to be up-to-date and using the newest tech. It doesn’t look good to me if they aren’t following the UX convention of the past two OS releases. It should at least look good on a standard phone and also a tablet, if it isn’t reflexive enough to work right on a foldable.
In terms of malware protection: I thought that it was fairly slow compared to other products I’ve used. This surprised me because I am familiar with the PC product and think that product is fairly light and fast. Compared to Lookout, the scan function on ~400 apps took a little over 1/3 more time to complete on my Pixel Fold.
I thought that the browser protection was slightly better than other products I’ve used. I didn’t get as many false positives from the app scanning my browsing, and the blocks were easy to remove when they triggered wrongly.
I have a credit bureau identity protection so what was included in mobile security seemed light duty but was a welcome add to the package. I think if you can get another bot in your arsenal searching the dark web for your data, all the better!
As an android user, I have quite a few choices for VPN service. I tried out the McAfee mobile VPN, and it seemed to work well, but it doesn’t seem to work as well for using apps with the appearance in another region for things such as video streaming apps. However, for protection, it seems to work okay with good speed at least in the U.S. where I used it in two airports on public WiFi; At least, it didn’t make the connection much slower.
I think this is a good package as a start to good mobile security. I’m glad that it allows you to protect your mobile device with several different security features with just one subscription. I just wish that it had more polish on the Android side app and a faster engine too.

I recently downloaded and installed McAfee Mobile Security Antivirus Internet Security Software _ VPN + ID Monitoring for 1 device for 1 year. It is a suite of applications for Apple IOS, Android, and Chrome. What can it do for you? A lot.
First off, this software runs on a subscription model. You buy the software and have to renew it every year so it’s an ongoing expense. It’s not expensive, and depending on how much you use your smart device, it could save you from a lot of headaches. After installing it, you will want to do a scan of your mobile device. It will scan for viruses, malware, and PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs). It alerts you to anything it finds and gives you options on how to handle the issues. It will also build a VPN connection on your phone. It’s not the kind that says you are somewhere that you aren’t, that you are someone else, and stuff like that. This one secures your Wi-Fi connection so you can’t be spied on. It hides your location and personal information. It is also used to monitor the data going to and from your phone and protecting it from threats. It can be setup to automatically establish a VPN connection any time you join a Wi-Fi network with weak security so that your online activity stays hidden or you can start it manually. There have been times that I’ve had issues with the VPN blocking me from getting to sites that I know are safe, and in those cases I have to disable the VPN. It will also monitor up to 10 e-mail addresses for security breaches anywhere on the Internet.
When you open the app, a security center is displayed that gives you a numerical security score up to with 1000 being the best possible score. If you have a lower score, you can click on the number and it will tell you what the score ranges mean. As you fix problems that it finds, your score will increase. You can start by doing a full scan of your mobile device. It will scan all of your files and apps for viruses and alert you to any that it finds. You can then scan your Wi-Fi network for vulnerabilities. You can use the “McAfee Scam Protection” feature to use their smart AI system to scan your text messages before you open them. It will alert you if it detects a risky link in a text message sent to you.
Overall, it a good system to protect your mobile device from outside attack, malware, PUPs, and viruses. It also monitors your e-mail addresses for security breaches and provides a VPN to protect your data transmissions. Everyone should have something like this on there phone because it just isn’t safe out there anymore.

This McAfee Mobile Security is exactly what I needed for my smartphone. It’s a mobile application that has a one year subscription. It covers a lot, and keeps your data safe. The things I like most about McAfee Mobile Security are the VPN (Virtual Private Network) that keeps safe while browsing the internet, keeping your location secret, and protecting you against bad websites. The next thing that I really like is the WiFi Scan. This module scans your wireless network for any issues regarding intrusions or other unsafe activities. Another module is Safe Browsing. This module makes sure that the websites you visit are not putting you or your device at risk. It will warn you if you visit a website that is considered unsafe or compromised. One of the most important modules in this Mobile Security suite is Identity Protection. Identity Protection monitors the Dark Web for data breaches that can steal your identity by exposing your credit card information, birthdate, social security number, drivers license number, email address, banking information, and so much more personal information. It will alert you if your information is found on the Dark Web and tell you what it is that was found, and how to fix it. The application also gives you an overall score for protection. The more information that you put in, like email addresses, and personal information, the more it will have to search for and report back, allowing you to fix it and raise your score. This is an excellent application and I will continue to use it.

I have always had protection for my laptops and computers but have not given much thought to my phone yet I access all the same websites and apps that I do on my other computers.
McAfee seems like a good solution for my mobile phone. I have a Samsung and it was easy to install. I had a little issue with set up as I apparently had an old McAfee account with my email address and could not reset the password. As a work-around, I just used an alternate email address and was set up without issue.
I like that I can use a VPN if needed. I have used one for my laptop and find it very helpful to protect me. Some websites do need your location so I have had to turn it off at times to access certain sites.
The McAfee can scan and run scans to protect my phone from viruses. It can also let me know if a wifi I am connected to is safe or not.
It will check websites I search for safety, it scans texts and looks for scams and does basic identity theft monitoring. You can upgrade for more identity protection if needed.
I like seeing the little McAfee symbol in the upper corner of my phone knowing it is working for me 24/7!

The McAfee Mobile Security service is a great protection tool to have on your cellphone. More specifically, I have it on installed on my IPhone 14 Pro max. The service is easy to install and activate. I simply downloaded the app and logged in with an my existing login and activated the service with the provided code. If you don’t already have an account it only takes minutes to setup one up and your account can be used across all McAfee’s plentiful protection services.
The security center is where you will primarily spend your time reviewing what you can do to make things a little bit more secure for you. You are provided things such as an over all protection score, wifi scan, secure vpn, system scan, safe browsing option, and identity monitoring. You have everything you need in one small section making it easy to monitor your protection and feel safe.
Your protection score is an overall score of how well you are doing and it’s from 0 up to 1000. The more you do as the service suggests the higher your score will be. Ultimately you are in control of your data and it provides an excellent guide to help you be more aware of your data.
The WiFi scan is one my favorite features. It will scan any WiFi system that you are currently on so you can trust if your transmitting safely. Although we are typically safe at home, it is a must have feature when you use public WiFi as you never know who might be peering in.
The system scan will scan your phone to make sure you’re fully up to date with your iPhones iOS version and passcode settings. Pretty simple and I haven’t came across any issues as I typically always keep my phone up to date with the current iOS. It’s always important to keep your system up to date as it alone will have the most security benefits.
The secure VPN allows you to provide additional protection on unsecured, public WiFi and other common connection areas. VPN will hide your location and keeps your data private. The app will ask permission to your phones settings but it’s worth to have this feature and extra barrier when in a public setting. I personally like the safe browsing as this is where you will typically fall in trouble on a mobile device and those fraudsters and those who try to put you and your device in harms way.
Finally the last included service is identity monitoring and this is where your part comes in. It will generate a report and show you every website or service where your email/username snd password are compromised. I have been going through the list weekly and changing each password when I can. I was honestly surprised by how many websites had my information compromised and McAfee makes it simple to fix each one with only a few taps.
All in all this is a great service to keep you safe while on your mobile device. While it did not unlock all the features available in the app which doesn’t make much sense as it would make things simple if it was (once and done type of thing), the service provides the essentials you need to keep safe out there. An upgrade in services allows you to have more identity monitoring and provide more protection for multiple devices.

As a tech-savvy individual who values both privacy and security, I recently decided to invest in the McAfee Mobile Security (1 Device) Antivirus Internet Security Software + VPN + ID Monitoring (1 Year Subscription) for my Android device. After using it extensively, I’m pleased to share my thoughts on this all-inclusive security solution.
The first thing that struck me was the effortless setup process; I appreciate when things are straightforward. Installing and configuring the software on my iPhone was a breeze. The user-friendly interface guided me through each step, ensuring that even a novice like me could easily get everything up and running.
What truly sets McAfee Mobile Security apart is its comprehensive nature. With antivirus protection, VPN, and ID monitoring all bundled into a single package, it’s like having a digital fortress at my fingertips. The antivirus feature scans my apps and files in real-time, providing a reassuring layer of defense against malware and other digital threats. Knowing that my device is continuously safeguarded gives me a genuine sense of security.
The inclusion of a VPN is a game-changer, especially in a world where online privacy is becoming increasingly elusive. With McAfee’s VPN, I can confidently connect to public Wi-Fi networks without worrying about potential breaches. Whether I’m sipping coffee at my favorite café or traveling, I know that my data is encrypted and shielded from prying eyes. It’s a convenience that I’ve quickly grown accustomed to.
Identity theft is a modern nightmare, but McAfee’s ID monitoring feature helps put my mind at ease. Regular notifications about potential breaches or unauthorized access attempts allow me to take swift action if necessary. This proactive approach to protecting my personal information is something I truly appreciate. It’s like having a vigilant guardian for my digital identity.
All in all, the McAfee Mobile Security Antivirus Internet Security Software + VPN + ID Monitoring (1 Year Subscription) has exceeded my expectations. Its user-friendly setup, combined with its comprehensive security features, offers both ease of use and peace of mind. As someone who values their online privacy and the safety of their devices, I can confidently say that this product is worth every penny.

There were things I liked and things I don’t like about the software. I installed the application using the twenty-five digit activation code and logged in using an old, inactive account. The app first gave the spinning wheel of death before crashing. After I restarted the app, everything seemed to work fine.
I started by using the system and wifi scans. Both were quick and came back with no issues. Then I turned on the vpn and safe browsing features. These two features basically made my phone unusable. Apparently every website is unsafe and a vpn makes web surfing unusable. Any site that needs location information or takes payments requires you to turn it off. I spend more time turning my vpn off so I can do something on the web. Now I don’t use it at all. The last feature is the identity protection. Every single breach gas to be individually addressed. It took me hours. It really did not feel like a user friendly experience. The scans are nice but they never find anything. Would not recommend.

It has become increasingly important to protect ourselves from intruders when it comes to our mobile devices. Mobile phones are used for more than simple social media, with a majority of us using them for personal and work purposes. The exposure to malware, virus treats, phishing schemes and identity theft has increased drastically over the past several years, leaving us vulnerable without something to block uninvited access to our devices.
McAfee Mobile Security not only protects me while browsing, but it also scans for viruses and protects me from accessing sites that could potentially send malware to my device. The product is seamless to install and doesn’t cause any performance issues while it runs in the background.
Virus protection is just a part of this software suite. It also includes secure VPN for safe browsing, Identity Theft monitoring and alerting, safe wifi scanning and scam protection. Since I use my device for both personal and business purposes, I feel that it is prudent to protect my company’s data assets as well as my personal data.
McAfee has a nice graphical interface with their security center to give a quick overview of how well the phone is protected, along with a score with a rating letting me know what should be addressed.
This is another quality product from McAfee.

I have tried a few other McAfee products, including their information monitoring services, and have had great experiences with it. Unfortunately, with their Mobil Security services, I have had some issues with their VPN feature.
Not only is having a VPN important to avoid people from knowing where you are, but it is also a great thing to have for streaming services. It allows me to view content not available in my area. But most importantly, I always turn it on whenever I am away from home.
The first downside experience that I had was that it was interfering with me being able to connect to my security cameras at home, and even with websites that I frequent often. It was a real pain to have to troubleshoot almost immediately after installing McAfee Mobil Security.
In order to fix this, you have to go into your app setting and into McAfee settings. It really sucks to have to take all of these extra steps to make sure that things work.
Although this is a minor inconvenience, I still want to be secure everywhere I go. McAfee has done a great job with the app, as you are able to have full control of your mobile security from the palm of your hands.
Although the VPN issue was the only downside, after adjusting your settings some, you will love all of the great security features that are instantly available to you.

I tested this on a Pixel 7a. The install was super easy. The app size doesn’t appear to take much space for those concerned about storage on device. This software is super rich with features, scam protection, wifi scanning, traditional antivirus, safe link for web surfing protection, basic identity monitoring (seems to be like your email and online identity), and VPN. because of all of these features, I felt that the setup process was a little time consuming, but worthwhile. I would encourage anyone looking to get this, to set aside the time to understand the features included with this package. the identity monitoring offers a nice peace of mind for my identity. I did find a few paywalls behind the app that made the experience a little less pleasant and uncalled for. Additionally, battery life seems to diminish post install (maybe 3-ish percent) on my Pixel and the VPN was a little limited in terms of how much you can use it. The VPN at times also seemed significantly slower than other times of day.

This software is more of your standard bread and butter mobile security. You can use this for your computer browser, but it’s really geared more towards your mobile device. You download the McAfee app on either your computer or your phone, and then what Mobile Security allows you to do is check your protection score, have antivirus on for you, 500MB of Secure VPN should you choose to use it or if you’re abroad and don’t trust the wifi network that you’re connected to for example or at a hotel’s wifi that you don’t trust, tracker remover which gets rid of temporary files/cookies on your computer that you may not want, protection for windows, Android, Apple, and iOS via QR code scan, email, or text message to add to all devices you want especially for family members, and ID protection which helps monitor your information and detects websites that have leaked your information.
The antivirus scan takes roughly 5-15 minutes, but it really depends on how many files you have as well. I’ve found that with 16GB of RAM I don’t feel much of a difference in processing speed, and according to my Windows PC task manager, even while scanning it uses only 0.5% memory and 0.1% of CPU processing. This is really optimized for performance.

I’ve been a long time McAfee customer and previously had the family plan of the McAfee Plus premium family. This subscription was due to end next month but with this mobile security plan it extended it by a year. I’ve been able to thoroughly test this product and if they would make just a few tweaks it would be great!
The data info cleanup is really great, but this is one of the areas that are really apprecially it would make some changes to. There is a competitor service that I have been a beta tester for for a long time, I was actually one of their original customers and testers back 2 years ago. This competitor service will allow you to automate the data brokerage removal, but McAfee does not. If they would make this one change in completely automate this it would be a five-star product all the way around that. I would tell my friends, family customers every one about. However, with how it is currently implemented by McAfee, I cannot recommend it using it and I will continue to use this competitor from it to do this data clean up. And that is a real bummer because McAfee is truly exceptional in every other way.
Since I run rooted Android phones, I have to have a decent antivirus to make sure that my phones are not getting any kind of malware and McAfee is the answer and my solution for that. I’ve used a competitor product with the initials of BT and while it was good, I must say the McAfee really blows it out of the water with its ease of use.
I’ve been able to let my family install this product on all our phones including my almost 70-year-old mother and it is really easy for her to use. That is a huge win for me because then I don’t have to troubleshoot with her or go over to her house and try and set it up when she lives 3 hours away. So if McAfee can automate the data brokerage removal process, it will be absolutely amazing.
Otherwise I’m very happy with the product.
