Less than two years later, this has stopped working for a third time. I have had to replace the lid lock, and the inside hot and cold valves that keep rusting out.

It’s ok. I’ll give it two stars because it works, but, it’s a little over a year old (so out of warranty) and the chime stopped working. It actually stopped within the first year, but, of course, the repair guy said it worked so nothing was done. A month after he left, it died again.
Also, the washer will constantly tell me to clear my dryer vent on the refresh cycle, even though I just cleaned it. Only happens on that cycle.
Spend your money somewhere else. This is an overpriced piece of junk.

The only brand I buy. My first set bought in 1980 we sold with our house in 2003 and they still worked like new. The second set we bought in 2003 I just traded in on my current set in 2023. The washer had a slipping transmission and the dryer worked like new. We are getting 20plus years out of our Maytags so i am very please!!!

So far so good on our new Maytag dryer. Our old one finally died after 36 years. The dryer is fast! The old dryer took about an hour and a half to dry a load of clothes. This one has them dry in about half an hour or less. We really like that it notifies you when the clothes are dry if you hook it up to your phone. Definitely a good buy!

I originally purchased this dryer during pandemic production shortage. I have had too many problems to list in this space. Suffice to say it has been replaced 3 times and I am so insecure I just spent extra $180 to have warrantee protection. I know they don’t make them like they used to but still????? I will say when working is good dryer.

This is a serious upgrade from a dryer over 20 years old. The steam feature on this is wonderful. I was not sure how I would like it but cloths come out wrinkle free. Cloths dry quicker, makes it much more efficient. Highly recommend!

This is my 3rd Maytag dryer. First lasted over 20 years. Second one about 9. This new one is malfunctioning from the beginning. The dryness sensor rarely works. Sometimes the drying cycle finishes with the clothes still very wet. Sometimes the sensor keeps adding time on and running perpetually. Set it to steam refresh and it literally runs forever – just keeps adding time until the clothes are nearly charred. I’ve had a service person out who changed the sensors and it still behaves this way. Additionally, the top of the dryer is very thin metal – set clothes on it and it dents in (so far it always pops back). The executives at Whirlpool have cost-cutted this thing too far. I’d gladly pay 2k+ for a machine built like my first Maytag. But everyone seems to be building semi-disposable products.

Very easy to operate and can alert the owner that washing is complete via wifi/bluetooth. Manual override for drying time is an A+. The downside is it has a small lint compartment and once full, extra lint can easy fall inside.

This isn’t a bad dryer. I’ve had it a few years with no major problems. It is however a very annoying dryer. It senses your clothes and flat refuses to dry them completely unless you use the sanitize cycle. EVERY other cycle leaves clothes damp every single time. Maybe it’s supposed to help with wrinkles or static or something, I have no idea. I just absolutely hate it. I have to run every “finished” load through quick dry after it’s supposedly done; unless I used sanitize. If you do use sanitize, you might shrink items that shouldn’t be dried at such high heat. There’s just no middle ground with this stupid thing. Also, the lint trap is poorly designed so that lint falls down into the dryer. They recommend having it professionally cleaned out from time to time. I had a kenmore for 15 years and never had either of these issues. So long to the days of well made long lasting appliances. Hello technology, apps, and mediocre appliances. Why have all the fancy tech if you can’t even get a load of laundry dried properly. Get it together Maytag. You’re supposed to be the best.
