I purchased this dryer after my whirlpool I had for 20 years quit. I wanted something American made and no fancy bells and whistles. Just to do the job it was intended for dry the clothes. I wish it had a hamper door option but it doesn’t. I do like the sanatize option though. Overall so far very pleased and hoping it will last as long as the dryer I replaced.

Good. Service. picked up on a rainy day. the guys and gals where very helpful and loaded on the van with touchless interaction. All where very professional. Only issue I had was that they were a little rough with the placement and scratched the sides. Not really visible so I didn’t make a big deal out of it.

We chose Maytag because of the brand reputation. We also chose Maytag because the product is Made In America.
The price seemed like a value when compared to brands that made waffle makers, irons, toasters, TV’s and the like of everything (Samsung, LG) as well as appliances. Maytag makes appliances only.
The dryer I am replacing is also a Maytag that served us for almost 30 years (really true). Talk about quality back then.
Another real plus was this model has Analog controls instead of digital. They last longer and they are very simple to use.
This Maytag isn’t at the quality level I was hoping for but still a solid 3-stars. My initial issues are the screw-on hard-plastic feet you’ll need to install (they also act as levelers). They’re cheap and plastic and have a great deal of resistance of movement for adjustments. The plastic feet are also hard slippery plastic so the dryer slides with ease when touched.
You’ll need to place one hand on the dryer and one hand on the door when you open the dryer door. Expect the unit to slide with ease when the door is opened. It isn’t built with any quality weight (thin metal).
Install is easy. Power cords are NOT INCLUDED. It take either 110V or 220V power cords.
There is no ‘Strain Relief’ bracket included for the power cord. You really do need one so plan accordingly (the strain relief bracket supports and protects the very heavy 220V power cord).
The manual with instructions for install are average-at-best with multiple directions. They are generic so I would highly suggest you view a YOUTUBE video first for the electrical installation; especially when working with the high voltage of 220V.
When you are ready to finally plug your unit into a 220V outlet, please go out to your breaker box and first turn-off power to that outlet. Then come back inside and plug it in; eventually going back outside and returning the breaker to its engaged position. *BE CAREFUL*, 220V is dangerous and unless you feel skilled enough, hire someone to handle the wiring aspect of your Maytag dryer.
The lint trap is nicely elevated on the top of the machine for ease of access.
All controls are large and well marked. Easy to set and as said, thankfully they are analog controls!
Drying is fine. In my head, a dryer is a dryer is a dryer (I am a novice) and I thought it dried very well. The drum is massive so clothes movement is excellent.

If you want a machine that will make you think you live in a laundromat, this is the dryer for you! The LOUD BUZZ at the end of the dryer cycle was a bit too much for me… That wasn’t the main reason, though. The main reason was because the delivery date for the matching washer kept being pushed back further and further and now it is backordered for another month. We returned the dryer and cancelled our order for the Washer it in favor of a newer Whirlpool set (both IN STOCK) with a nice chime.

Love it, love it! This replaced our 10+ year old dryer where it used to take two 60 minute cycles to dry one load. I am very pleased overall. I am getting used to the fact that the lint trap is on the top versus within the dryer door, but research states this configuration is more efficient. Additionally, I do think that appliances these days just aren’t as high of quality as they used to me made, so it’s give or take with new features vs. quality. The door seems a little flimsy and light weight and doesn’t stay open when I need it to.

Just got this today. Have dried two loads so far. So far so good… seems to take less time to dry heavy items ,such as jeans, than my old dryer did. The only thing I Don’t like so far is that it’s a little noisy. I’m hoping that maybe it’ll be less noisy after it is broken in. I mean it’s not intolerable but I did choose to close the laundry room door lol. I hope it lasts as long as my old Maytag (20 years) which was still working but I wanted a dryer to match my new washer i got a few months ago

Purchased in 2016. Good for the price but make sure you purchase the service plan!! Third service call since I purchased. Mechanical issues not user errors.

Unit is efficient, quiet, and more than large enough for a standard household load. Choice of cycles and temperatures is on par with a household model. Door reversal is an easy process. Lint trap could be improved, but it is the standard design. Heat mitigation/ exhaust is effective in preventing a substantial rise in room temperature.

Dryer has alot of space. Easy to dry comforters.The sensor seems to be working well. Also, like the light in the dryer and easy to clean lint filter. So far so good! I didn’t give a 5 star because of the delivery, I believe the delivery truck knocked out my internet cable line, they were in such a hurry. Also no instructions came with dryer for different settings

Do not buy this dryer! We have had it for 6 months. It has never dried a load in one cycle. I always have run 2 cycles to get it to dry. I have tried every setting.

I was dissatisfied when Geek Squad delivery said they could not level the dryer because the legs were not with it. No one, sales person, said that buying unit out of box meant there would be no leveling legs !

Good gracious! They are requesting a review and just pressed the button on the latest Maytag dryer .. now … chose this “ model” cause it matched the washer .. the operation was simple .. had plenty of settings for various” situations” and you won’t have to be a software engineer , or contact the geek squad every time you use the thing .. only thing had happen was had a size twelve shoe get stuck stopped the motor and had to do a safety reset .. so chose the right one for the job here !

Not been terribly impressed. It dries clothes okay, but we have had problems with the ‘start’ button detaching, and now the timer has broken. I should not have to repair a dryer that is less than 2 years old!

Absolutely the WORST dryer ever. Not even 2 years old and it has been repaired 7 times. The warranty company just gave me a buyout for $611. Time to find a new dryer. Don’t buy this dryer. It is a nightmare especially if you have a large household like us.

Solid dryer. It will never dry a batch of shower towels or cotton clothes in one running. I can watch 6 towels or a dozen tshirts on sanitize (highest heat setting) and run it for 70+ minutes (highest tie setting) and I cannot get everything dry. It always takes 1.5 – 2 runs so typically when it is halfway done, I just turn the time to a full load again and it works but this is not ideal and not huge. I have owned this dryer since 2020.

Best value for our money does the job in good time. Energy efficient
