Very disappointed. I am a life long Maytag user. I believe the motor still works good. But just a year after purchase, its not turning on at all . I am guessing its a control panel issue which is not covered under warranty. Maytag makes great motors , wish their electronics did the same.

I love this washer so much!!! So glad i bought the model with the agitator. Had it over a year and just love it. So quiet and has many levels for whatever you might want to wash. Even my comforter.

After 2 and 1/2 years, the washer no longer works. The washer just stopped turning on one day. Tested the outlet, checked the cord, had somebody come out to repair it, our only choice is to replace the control board (a $400 part) and Maytag will not cover it under warranty, even though it’s clearly a defective part to only last 2 and 1/2 years. Even before the control board went out, the motor started making a noise that can best be described as a jackhammer sound. That was less than a year into owning this washer.
Do not buy a Maytag. Washing machines should last 10+ years, and Maytag even offers a *very* limited 10 year warranty to back that claim up. You likely won’t get 10 years. I wish I had been steered away from Maytag. I will never buy Maytag product again, and neither should you. Now it’s time for me to got buy a new washer from a quality brand.

Washer machine works mostly as expected. Tends to go “off-balance” easily when entering the spin cycle which requires maintenance to be able to complete the cycle. Got it at a great price from the outlet store so I can’t complain for the price, but I wouldn’t have wanted to pay full price for this washer. “Time Remaining” display lies – it is almost double what it says the time will be when you initially select the cycle.

After having a bad experience with LG front loader washer and the constant leaking from the door and the service men could never fix it. We knew that we wanted to go back to Maytag and the steam wash on this model is amazing. It’s easy to use and cleans very well for our family.

The Maytag top-loader is HORRIBLE! It does not fill with enough water and we have to add several buckets of water to make it clean anything. It is crap and it is new!! Follow the reviews and never buy this machine.

There’s a major flaw in the control panel. It’s open on the bottom and steam from the washer corrodes the board. The control panel MUST be replaced once per year at a cost of $300+ per unit. Note the corrosion in my attached photo. This is on a new control panel that’s been in for about 8 months.
Don’t believe those Maytag commercials. I’m shopping for a new washer now after my control panel has stopped working yet again.

We purchased this machine one and a half years ago. It is actually rusting underneath the paint, and the paint separating from the machine. Overall, we have liked the machine. We expected a little more quality in this price range. With a machine that is obviously going to be exposed to moisture, you would expect a little more concern in sealing the Finish. We realize the manufacturer is only trying to save some money where they can, but we were willing to spend a little extra to get a little more quality.

The shifter went bad, the drum seal is bad, the gear case needs replaced, the wash plate and drum need replaced.
Ugh…what happened to appliances lasting more than a few years?

Have had both good and bad experiences with a product that was sold to me. I have purchased washers, dryer and refrigerator from this Company. Great to deal with. Only 1 Item is defective and still under factory warranty. The Maytag Commercial washer MVW7232HWO is useless.Most of use do mixed loads when we do laundry. This machine per the Maytag repair will only accept towels, jeans etc but you cant combine them as the machine will rock and roll across your floor. Even though it is a large tub, don’t put any king size sheets or light blankets together in it, I was told by repair. If I knew I could not wash all my darks with other darks to get a full load I would have never purchased that model. Repair has been out twice already and it looks like my life is now waiting for the Maytag man. Cant use the machine until the new parts come in. If you have a job like me, forget fast service as you will have to change your life around to accommodate Maytag. One tech I called myself as I needed to see if I could get this fixed quicker and just pay it out of pocket said that product I bought is a bad design and it will always be a problem for me. Thanks Maytag for the terrible job you do! I wish I could donate this piece of crap, but since it doesn’t work, no one wants it even though I bought the 5 year extended warranty and its still under factory warranty.

Will not buy Maytag anything ever again. Regret this purchase. The washing machine does not use enough water and it ruins your clothes. Opted for top loader because I didn’t want to deal with the mold issues with a front loader. Horrible washer and waste of money. Honestly, the old washing machines with a full agitator and not high efficiency cleaned my clothes better and didn’t ruin them.

The washer was purchased Feb of 20. After a bit over 2 years of use it is junk. This unit was advertised as a low water use with no agitator to damage the clothing. It should be tagged as low water use and no agitator so your cloths don’t get clean. Another problem was that the tank is so deep my wife had to use a pair of tongs to reach the bottom to remove clothing. (Our bad, we should have checked before buying.)
The finial end came when the left side lid hinge housing broke. I called Maytag to inquire how much a new lid would cost. I was appalled the cost of a new lid would be over $500 which is two thirds of the cost of a new unit.
We bought a replacement unit and sent this pile of junk to the recycle center.

I like that the washer is huge it spins the clothes almost dry but it leaves alot of lint on the clothes. The detergent dispenser that pulls out from under the lid holds water so therefore it will eventually get mold on it. I have had this washer for 4 months now and I have to constantly empty the water out of the dispenser to avoid mold growing on it. That is a pain

Horrible washing machine. Clothes do not get clean. The detergent sits in the clothes and when you pull the clothes out they are packed in a ball with detergent marks all over them. Worst washing machine I have ever had. Also, the smell never goes away! Doesn’t drain and stinks all the time.

I just had a repair company come out to fix the issue. He told me it would cost over $600 for the repair. I’m going to purchase a new one because it’s not worth repairing it. We purchased this washer in January of 2018. We had it a little over 5 years. The control panel went out and it will cost almost $600 to fix it. If you google how long a Maytag washer lasts, it will tell you 10-11 years. I guess we’re the unlucky ones. When you buy a more high-end appliance, you expect it too last longer. Otherwise, why spend more money. Very disappointed in Maytag.

Never liked this washer from the start. Huge capacity, but doesn’t wash clothes very well. Have always had fuzz/scum on clothes, even with 2nd rinse. And, I used Assure to clean the washer, regularly. The wash cycles were incredibly long! STAY AWAY!!

We’ve had this machine for a little over 5 years. Our family has always preferred Maytag products and this machine is just another reason why. Even though we have had some issues after 5 years, the machine still deserves 5/5 stars. The bowl is massive. You can wash all your standard loads and then the heavy loads, including a king size comforter. The audio is pleasant and it just looks nice.

I had this machine for less than a year when its first electric panel went out. It took 3 months for Maytag to get the service company a new one. The panel has now went out a total of 4 times on my machine in less than the 4 years I have had it. It is a poor designed on Maytags parts which is why the panel keeps frying and giving error codes. Stay away from any Maytag washer that is designed this way because they are junk and Maytag will not do anything about it!!

I had high hopes for this machine. I had been waiting for my previous washing machine to break so I could get a new one. Based on the manufacturing date, my old machine was around 20 years old (it came with our house.) We use our machine a lot, and there were a lot of features I liked on this machine, but it needed to be replaced in less than 3 years. The lid broke and it was so expensive to fix it made more sense to buy a new machine.

I had bought this brand new about 3 years ago and it was working fine for the first 6 months then we started to have issues. So we did what anyone else would which was call to get it checked by Maytag so they came and “fixed” our issue and to this day it just got worse and worse. Now the washer goes off balance during the spin cycle and no matter how little you add to it, it always goes off balance. I think it’s time for a new washer and new brand.
