Just over a year old and I am replacing it. Door handles rust at 3 months (considered a housekeeping problem), food freezes in the fridge intermittently (have lost so much food this way), ice maker stops working fairly often, ice dispenser spews all over the floor. When changing the filter the water doesn’t turn off so it flooded the fridge and the kitchen. I have tried everything suggested but would rather replace it than keep losing food and patience

The fridge (fan?) is a little loud at times, and it always seems like we need to wipe down the tray after getting ice. I had this “same” Maytag fridge before and this one doesn’t seem to be as high of quality. The sliding of the drawers (including freezer) aren’t as smooth. I still like the fridge and would purchase it, again.

I bought this with my house and it didn’t come with an ice maker (as you know). They list ice maker as an option. I made an order over the phone on January 24 2022 for it. I wasn’t charged as it was on backorder, and “the factory had to make it first”. Customer support gave me a timeframe for order arrival between “February 24 – March 15”.
I called on March 8 to see. Customer support said the status was the same, and that the timeframe was still valid in their system. I said it didn’t look like it was gonna make it, since it was too close to March 15. I called again today on March 24, to get an updated timeframe (to have a remote idea on what I should be expecting after 2 months of waiting time).
All the above is okay still, I’m not blaming anyone up until now.
Then I talked to the customer support again. They said they can’t give a date. I reconfirmed asking “so you’re saying that there’s no timeline, and at this point it’s not a question of ‘when’ but a question of ‘if ever’”. They nodded.
Now this is a 1 star CS for this item. Listing something as an option then not providing it, and then not being able to give even a timeframe to simply say that it may never be an option, is outrageous.
Would not recommend unless you’re sure you won’t need an icemaker ever, because it’s not an option.

This fridge is really loud you can hear it running 2 rooms away from the kitchen, and it had several different rattles that would start and stop sporadically. This was a deal breaker for us, the noise was driving us crazy. Best Buy’s customer service was amazing though and they swapped it for another fridge that was from a different brand. We really appreciated that and will buy from them again just because of that. If you don’t like a noisy fridge DO NOT buy this fridge.

This is a great refrigerator. The inside layout aids to the size because all of the space is usable and most areas are also adjustable. The only note is that it does make a lot of sounds and can take awhile to get used to.

So far I have major problems with the fridge (leaking water, ice maker, door seals, list goes on), problems with the microwave (door sagging), oven (inconsistent temps), and dishwasher (adjustable rack failure, stuck in drain cycle). Whirlpool ruined this brand.

I bought this maytag during the civid shortage period. All that was available were french door stainless steel with ice-makers. I have well water so I didn’t want an ice maker. I finally found a side by side, but it was stainless, which i didn’t really want.
I bought it anyway, thinking it was a good brand. (Lol)
Its electronically controlled in the fridge which controls the freezer too.
Totally UNbrilliant! My ice cream is too soft, the top shelf in the fridge freezes.
The produce drawers are flimsy and hard to slide in. Cheap and with rough edges that I had to grind down myself. It does stain and does NOT clean with a damp paper towel as I was told. I absolutely hate it and the fact that I had to pay $1700 + tax really makes me sick.

Our original version of this refrigerator is 15 years old. We moved it to the garage when we bought the new one.
I read people complaining about noise and I’m like “what noise?” this thing is very quiet.
I like how the ice and water in the door has been reworked into separate functions for ice and water dispensing.
I did notice that the fan turns off when you open the doors. That to me is odd, but whatever.
Overall, I love this refrigerator.
Best Buy delivery was top-notch too. I needed to move the old frige into the garage and then haul away the old one. No problem there whatsoever, the guys were great!!

I purchased this refrigerator/freezer in Oct 2020. I have had NOTHING but problems since I got it! The ice maker has been a NIGHTMARE since day one! From the beginning ice constantly would freeze in maker and not drop, constantly having to defrost. Would make ice off and on, basically whenever it felt like it, I guess. Crushed ice function rarely worked. It would get jammed and eventually broke off front cover and then the plastic lever that holds ice bin in place. Can no long even use dispenser because bin doesn’t stay in place. One morning I went into kitchen to find water pouring out dispenser and all over kitchen floor! This was 1 yr and 1 week after purchase date. Water was trying to fill maker, to freeze for ice. I was panicked and trying to figure out how to turn off ice maker. Everything I looked up said it was inside the fridge in specific spot. I didn’t have it/couldn’t find it. Call Maytag and person is telling me the same thing on the phone…where the on/off switch is. I kept saying no it’s not. Got NOWHERE with Maytag! Finally one of my children came in kitchen, looked on door display and noticed above one of the buttons said ice maker on/off. I called Best Buy for repair and to verify the warranty I had. Best Buy said I had a 3 yr warranty and would transfer me to Maytag to set up repair appt. Transfer and get appt made. 3 days later Maytag calls to confirm and tells me cost, just to come to house. I said Best Buy said I had a 3 yr warranty. They said no, only 1 yr. But, they said that was a Best Buy warranty and Geek Squad would need to fix. For over a year I agrued with Maytag and Best Buy and got ZERO help!! I had no ice! I did my own research and fixed myself. The arm on dispenser constantly gets stuck, so ice doesn’t drop…when it decides to even make ice. The problems with this ice maker go on and on and on!!! It was a lemon from the start! NO ONE with either company will help me, or even wanted to! As far as the refrigerator aspect, it’s not great. Items freeze on certain shelves, in certain spots. I’ve rearranged the shelves, like they suggest, to help with the flow of the cold air. Doesn’t help. It constantly runs and is loud! As a single mom with 4 children, I did not have the money for this expense…but, had to because my other one went out (25 yrs old). I financed this item for 12 mths and it put a strain on my families life! So disappointed and sad at what I am stuck with and no help to fix! I will NEVER buy another Maytag appliance or recommend for any appliance! And,honestly, I don’t know if I will ever buy another appliance from Best Buy. They were NO help to me, either! It is all VERY sad!

I would love to say that we are thrilled with this fridge. Unfortunately we are not. At an over $2000 purchase price, we should at least like it.
There has been, and continues to be issues with the ice maker dispenser not working, jamming, leaking. When we turn off the ice maker, it still makes ice, subsequently freezing the unit. Basically you have this hole in the side of the fridge that is supposed to serve a function, and it’s just nothing more than an aggravation, and it has been since the beginning. The water dispenser works, but we had to turn the water connection off in order to stop the ice machine from leaking.
The fridge itself is a decent size, cools nicely, etc. But the whole dispenser/ice machine component takes away from all from all of that.
Overall a huge disappointment. Look elsewhere.

We love this fridge. Reason for the 4 star ranking. The first fridge only worked for 12 hours and the fan bearings went and made no ice. The first delivery was about 3 weeks out from purchase. Then the OOB failure took another 3 weeks to get a replacement delivered. Thank goodness we had a backup fridge. The wait on delivery and the response to resolved a faulty equipment was painful and multiple phone calls to get resolution. I am a membership plus account holder and the hours of arguing to rectify the situation was extremely painful. First phone call to have the OOB was to call the manufacturer to resolve. This made no sense if I am member and was just delivered. Finally, had a resolution 3 agents later and multiple calls to get someone to finally tesolve the problem.

This fridge is awesome for the price. Only downside is the bottom drawer pops out but that’s not a big deal. It goes right back in.
