    I bought these as my wife didn’t want to overwhelm the room with big speakers. I used to have definitive Technologies 8060s but she wanted to downsize. I always wanted MLs and used this as the opportunity. I was worried that being entry level that they would disappoint. They are bright with good mid tones. You will definitely need a sub but these speakers have made me love watching tv again.

    Was a little skeptical about buying the slims but man am I glad I did. These things generate sound as clear, crisp clear and loud as other brands twice the size. I use them for my home theater left, right and center channels and they just simply rock.

    Currently using the speaker as a center channel. Installation was fairly simple and it looks great on my wall. A sub is necessary as these have terrible bass, however it makes it up with terrific mids and highs. These speakers can be used as either l/r channels or as a center.

    You pay $500 but get a well done speaker, not better than a speaker with a bigger size but incredibly good for such a sleek design. At 94 dB this unit is loud.

    while I loved the sound in the store I didn’t open the box at hm because I was told later that for the reason that I was using them as rear speakers while they would be great speakers. Real rear speakers are built a little different for the sound that I am trying to get and the store just didn’t have what I needed at the time.

    I bought the speaker as a center channel in my RV to keep down the weight and because I did not have the depth for a standard Center Channel. Having said that the sound is very clear and has enough low-end for a center Channel. I will probably buy two more for my rear surround. I also purchased two motion 15 bookshelf speakers and they sound wonderful as well

    My goal with these speakers was to replicate the sound from my previous large speaker system with more aesthetically pleasing speakers to pass muster with my wife while retaining an audiophile sound. My original speaker system was a Klipsch 7.2 system anchored by large Forte IIIs ($1,800 each) and 2 ported Klipsch Reference 12″ subwoofers. Obviously it is not possible to replace $1800 speakers with $500 ones and be happy with the result. When I replaced the Fortes as anticipated there was very noticeable hole in the lower mid/ upper base range as a result of going from a 12″ woofer/ 10″ passive radiator configuration to one with 4″ drivers. The ML Motion’s midrange to upper end was however very crisp and has a nice open soundstage. The folded motion tweeters I think are a bit more natural than the Forte’s horns. To deal the lack of a tight lower end I changed the crossover for the Klipsch subs from 75 to 125hz to cover the lower end better but it still was lacking punch & definition. I concluded I had to fill the hole with a tighter non-ported subwoofer. I ordered a SVS non-ported SB-2000 12″ 500W powered subwoofer (GREAT SUBWOOFER) to go along with one of my Klipsch subwoofers which went a long way to solve the problem. I set the crossover on the new SVS sub to 225hz to create an overlap at upper base and lower mid and it did the trick. Ultimately I have concluded that the Martin Logan SLM4 does a great job for it’s amazingly small footprint, but it requires a subwoofer that can cross over above 200hz to make it really shine.

    I used the SLM as a center channel in my setup, and the folded ML tweeter sounds incredible, compared to my old Definitive speaker. Dialog is super clear and crisp. Couldn’t be happier.
    My L&R channels are ML motion 4i speakers

    The speaker has a detailed sound for its size. But the wall mount for it is cheap poorly designed and does not offer reasonable engagement between mount and speaker. If wanting to wall mount I would not recommend.

    I do recommend the sound, but if needs to be wall mounted Indo not recommend. Before you make holes to mount try fittings the mounting post into the speaker hole. It hangs by half or less of the post lip only.

    These are incredible speakers with tons of versatility! Love the thin profile to it when attached to wall. I use this as a center channel and it’s great! Considering getting 2 more to swap out my front speakers as well, as they can be used for multiple places in the room. Highly recommend!

    Wow truly amazed at the sound that comes from these speakers. I love how flat these speakers are and the way they blend into the room. Have these set up as rear surrounds in a basic 5.1 setup truly make watching movies enjoyable again. would recommend

    I walked into Best Buy to just look at receivers and ended up talking to sales rep. I told him my issues and he told me that it was more of a speaker issue than receiver. He played various speakers for me and the MartinLogan just stood out. I purchased just one to use as my center channel. Best purchase that I made. I could not believe the clarity of the sound. I hear things on movies now that I didn’t hear before. I have since bought other MartinLogan speakers for my rear surround.

    This was an open box purchase. Not inexpensive, for a center tv channel. But the Hi notes on voice were just too hi for my ear—almost cracking. So I returned. Best Buy no hassle returns is a very nice feature. I eventually replaced this speaker with an open box Klipsch Reference Series Quad 3-1/2″ 400-Watt Passive 2-Way Center-Channel Speaker – and that did the trick

    I purchased this speaker to replace a perfectly great but too bulky center channel. my former center channel speaker was working perfectly fine but it is just big to mount below my 75″ TV with a pull down mantle mount. This Martin Logan speaker perfectly fit my size requirements perfectly and functions exceptionally well as a center channel in concert with large tower speakers, bookshelf rear speakers and an 800 watt dual 12′ subwoofer. All speakers are driven by a Marantz AV receiver with high quality speaker cables and connects. Playing Music is awesome with exceptional clarity of both voice and instruments with no overcrowding from any of the speakers. Movies are are powerful and engaging with very clear dialogue. I am more than very pleased with the seamless integration and exceptional performance that this speaker added to my Home Theatre.

    Great speakers. Very clear sound. These don’t have a ton of base with our system, you will want to make sure you have a sub for that. As a left and right Chanel they sound great with our TV and also good as stereo speakers.

    I am a fan of MartinLogan speakers. Mounted easily on the wall next to the TV. I like the slim look of the speakers. Good speaker for high end and mid-range sound. Was a good addition to the MartinLogin center channel speaker I already had. You will probably want to add a subwoofer for a more complete sound.

    Nice sleek look and great sound. Can be installed on wall or comes with speaker stand. Great installation by Best Buy technician on wall with hidden wires behind the wall. These take up less room than bookshelf speakers. I have total tech membership so all my electronic and computer purchases come with a two year warranty for free.

    These are really nice looking and great sounding speakers. I love the slim profile with then hanging on the wall. I use this one as my center speaker.

    If youre using these as stereo and center channels, you need a woofer. The sound clearity is amazing but there is very little bass out of them.

    Dont let my photo deceive the size of the speaker. I have an 85″ tv in the pic.

    Nice wall speakers for my garage. Needs a sub to give base. Also 4ohms so get a amp that can handle 4ohms and you are ready for business

    They have a crisp clean sound are easy to wall mount with the template provided. These are high and mid range frequency speakers only so you will need a subwoofer.
