    I was able to purchase my Jitterbug4 at Best Buy. Being a senior the phone makes everything easy for me. My Geek Squad is always there when I need them.They are the best.

    This smartphone is advertised for seniors as being
    easy to understand and use. Lively is the company
    selling this cell phone. I have had their Jitterbug Smart4 for a few week now. The provided manual
    could be better since setting up this phone for specific purposes needs more elaboration. I have
    had to contact Lively customer service three times
    for expansion and clarification relating to various uses. I have been impressed with battery life.
    Your should wait for the battery life indicator to reach
    no more that 3-5 minutes of battery life before recharging. There is a definite learning curve for
    this phone unless you are reasonably savvy with
    other more complicated cell phones.

    I bought this phone for my brother who has some cognitive issues. It is fairly easy to use, but I had to activate by phone since the online activation was not working properly. The phone is supposed to have a customizable home screen which would be great, however the original home screen keeps coming back once you restart the phone. Very annoying.

    Excellent for individuals with limited vision. Works in Europe by restarting at each location. Wish the menu was more adjustable, allowing the “View All Apps to be moved closer to the top of the list

    I bought this for my 80-year-old grandmother who has wanted a smartphone forever but is terrible with technology. It’s so easy to use, there are multiple ways to get to everything from the home screen, it’s extremely affordable, and the font/buttons are huge and clearly labeled. Unfortunately, Grandma did not like it because “This isn’t an iPhone” but I’m hoping she’ll warm up to it because there is no reality in which she would ever be able to use any smartphone aside from the Jitterbug.

    This is a wonderful, easy phone, however – the lively service is sketchy in the area where our friend lives and there seems to be no fix. For this reason, sadly, we will be forced to return this phone because it cannot work with other services.

    I love my Jitterbug Flip Phone. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because you have to watch the button on the side that adjusts the phone volume. It goes to silent easily if you accidentally touch it. Otherwise great phone!

    The Smart 4 is easy to utilize. While figuring out how to use it is fairly self explanatory, there is always the truly friendly customer service. The only issue I have are the random additions that appears on the all apps options.

    Bought this for my mother-in-law who was getting overwhelmed with her Android phone. Interface is more straightforward — the list approach for apps is easier for her to deal with than the multiple screens of icons on her old phone. Sound quality is excellent. Not surprisingly, we needed to spend a fair amount of time getting her accustomed to the new interface, but she’s caught on pretty easily. Only reason I can’t give 5 stars is a couple of design challenges:

    1) she holds her phone with her left hand wrapped around the back, which puts her fingers right on the volume controls. More than once she has inadvertently turned the volume down to the point she can’t hear us. We wound up putting duct tape over the toggle controls as a reminder to not grip the phone so tightly.

    2) She likes to turn her phone off when she’s not using it (even though we’ve told her it’s not necessary — it’s the old dog, new tricks thing). When she turns it back on, her fat fingers tend to hit the Airplane mode button instead of the On button and you guessed it — no phone, no text, no email and she was convinced the phone was broke.

    I point out these issues only as a warning that you may need to invest a good deal of training before the phone is user-friendly.

    On the plus side, Lively’s customer support has been excellent, so all-in-all this was a good purchase. Camera seems adequate although she doesn’t use it.

    As replacement for an aged flip phone, we fell for the ads, promoting how easy the Jitterbug is. Yes, price is good. However, NEVER shared in any ad we saw, is the fact that you are limited to service with Lively; price: $33/month. A true wake-up was the user’s manual; admittedly, small size, BUT 170 pages! Activation NOT easy, at least, for us; I am fairly experienced, far from expert, but it was a challenge. And my husband never did get the trick for using the phone. a safety measure for him on his daily walk. He is back to a truly simple flip phone, with an annual plan with Tracfone for $99.00.

    This is actually not a bad phone for the price. The only thing I’m disappointed in is the camera and that it’s 4g. A plus is that it offers a simplified home screen for those who aren’t too familiar with using a smart phone yet.

    Phone may be fine for some seniors but a dementia patient had to go back to an iPhone that he’d used before. There’s too many steps for him to follow for just about all of it. So it ended up a big unnecessary waste of money

    I bought this phone for an 89-year-old friend who lives alone. She had an iPhone for three years, had difficulty operating it, and would only use her home phone to talk. She is finding the Jitterbug much easier to operate. Still has a few more “lessons” to learn before she becomes more comfortable with it.

    it breaks down a lot and i was told i had unlimited talk and text. Not true. My bill was raised 25 dollars plus tax because they claim i went over the unlimited talk and text

    Bought this for my 80 year old father. Its very easy for him to use. The screen is a nice size. The menu is in bigger print making it easier to see and the volumn is loud enough that he can hear it ring as his hearing isn’t so good. The only thing is the Emergency Call button tends to get in his way or attract his attention. There is a delay if you press it and it gives you a 10 second countdown before actually going through and gives you the chance to cancel. Other than that no issues at all. It was easy to set up and the customer service people were very nice and patient.

    This phone is great compared to other models offered by Lively in the past and offers 4G technology and a faster speed. While it is not another type of phone it is both easy to use and a great value. You do not need to have the safe and sound package so that saves on your overall plan. This phone was easy to set up, easy of my Mother to use in her 90’s and offers a lot of options on the plan and apps.

    This website (and Lively’s) do not mention the ACTIVATION FEE required to turn on phone ($25 online, $35 if you do on the phone) and that you will be forced to sign up for a monthly plan, even if you want to use the phone unlocked. Moreover, you must purchase and activate *at the same time* in order to get a partial refund of the activation fee (i.e., you need to buy a plan at the same time you buy the phone).

    Best Buy, do better. This is already too complicated a process for seniors (or for me, their adult child). Buying an unlocked phone or getting a cell for other prepaid plans is much simplier. Why can’t you just be clear and transparent?!

    This is a very nice phone. It is just as awesome as the regular big screen 5.4 ” phones. I love the magnifying glass feature to enlarge the fonts. Very easy to navigate and it has tutorials to help navigate anytime you need it. The plans for the phone is awesome not expensive at all for what you are getting. The design is ni e. This is a great phone. I highly recommend one for all elderly persons. It has special features for them to call a nurse,doctors, emergency features, so much. Help you & your loved ones feel secure with this phone today. You can also use google,add apps from the app store. I am thinking about getting one for myself.
