    LifeLock Identity Advisor

LifeLock identity advisor covers the following
    Up to 5 Addresses
    Up to 5 Phone Numbers
    Up to 5 E-mail addresses
    Mothers maiden name
    Your drivers license number
    Your insurance policies
    Your gamers Tags
    Up to 10 bank accounts
    Up to 10 credit cards.
Also, you have access to an ID Restoration Services agent should any of your information appear to be improperly used.
Download and set up went without any problems. Following the prompts, I entered the required information and set up was complete. I ran the scans and tried to view the results. All I got was errors as per the attached.
Utilizing the support feature was exhausting, after typing in my problem I got 50 pages of results that had nothing to do with the problem. I have loaded pictures of the error screens I have received. I have not been able to use this product since I downloaded it.
There is extensive advice and weblinks to other items available to assist with securing your identity. There are links to the 3 primary credit reporting agencies, Bank security freeze via ChexSystems, and State level utilities freeze.

LifeLock Identity Advisor (1 Adult) (1-Year Subscription with Auto Renewal) – Android, Apple iOS, Mac OS, Windows [Digital].
Numerous large companies have been breached and had their customer data stolen. Your data, the data they keep on you. No product or service can prevent all cybercrime or all identity theft. All you can do is react. The faster the better. But in order to react, you first need to know your data is stolen. Hopefully before your credit is maxed out, bank accounts drained, your identity, credit rating, and reputation destroyed.
The sooner you act, the less damage and effort to restore will be needed. This subscription provides you with dark web monitoring and breach notifications to alert you to a problem.
After you register and start your annual subscription, you enter your personal and financial information for LifeLock to monitor on the worldwide dark web. If any of the data you entered shows up on the dark web, you get notified by your choice of Automated Call, Text, or mobile app, or email. The data that LifeLock will monitor includes:
    • Driver License
    • Insurance Policy
    • Mother’s Maiden Name
    • 5 Addresses
    • 5 Phone numbers
    • 5 Email Addresses
    • 10 Bank Accounts
    • 10 Credit Card numbers. Not the expiration date of CCV number.
    • 10 Gamer Tags
Naturally you want to enter everything you have so LifeLock can match on it in its routine search. LifeLock has a web site and a Mobile app that makes this easy. The mobile app lets you use the camera to input each credit card making quick work of this input. I found both the website and app to be well laid out, easy to use, and responsive. I encountered no problems with either.
This subscription package also includes the ID Restoration Service. You can connect to a US-based Identity Restoration Specialist to help you resolve any fraudulent activity. LifeLock will work with parties relevant to your case and advise on external services that can help resolve your claim.
There are also links to the three major credit bureaus, the ChexSystems used by banks, and the National Consumer Telecom & Utilities Exchange, NCTUE where you can freeze access to anyone. Using these will make it harder to steal and exploit your identify.
The LifeLock service supports Multi-factor Authentication. This should be enabled right at the start before you enter your data. The second authentication can be by a Mobile Authenticator App, a Security Key, or by SMS text to a Mobile phone number.
Realize what you are buying, and not. This is the most basic subscription package from LifeLock. It does NOT include the Million Dollar Protection™ Package to pay for lawyers or other experts that may be needed to resolve some issues. Nor will your information at credit Bureau’s or other information be monitored for changes. If you do not have such coverage elsewhere, you should review and consider one of the subscription packages that offers more help should it be needed. While I feel this product works well and as advertised, it only monitors one attack vector. While better than nothing, most people will be better served by one of the more comprehensive packages.

I had used Norton products for many years on our personal computers, but when our IT Department began allowing us to use another product on our personal computers I went away from it. I received this (download in email) and it only took a few minutes to download. I was shocked because I Norton still had my email stored. It took a while longer (No fault of Norton) to reset my new password than it did to download and proceed w/ filling out my information.

I am very pleased w/ LifeLock Identity Advisor, I was able to add my cell-phone, my home phone, insurance company, email, etc. I was shocked that as soon as I started that my personal email, which I rarely used while I was working (I have recently retired) due to the fact that I used my business email almost exclusively for the past many years, I instantly learned my personal email which I now use again had been in a breach. I immediately did what LifeLock Advisor advised me to do and am now protected again.

If you are in the market for a really good and easy to use Identity Advisor, look no further that this product. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Setting LifeLock up was easy and took only a matter of minutes and I was able to scan for issues. Anyone who’s had their information “potentially” leaked should try this service out because it does basic monitoring of the dark web for your personal information which can be used to help prevent identity theft and when it does occur they connect you up with a 3rd party that can help.

One thing that’s helpful is knowing user ID’s with passwords that are out there from breaches associated with your online accounts which can go a long way toward preventing problems that are sometimes difficult to fix or resolve quickly. Knowing this can help you prevent your accounts from being taken over or compromised in some way and I’d definitely recommend having it even if your info hasn’t been breached. What is out there might surprise you.

The features this service offers are basic but what I would consider essential monitoring for your personal information. A good way to look at this is if there’s an issue you may then want to monitor more than just for your personal info but watch or lock credit reports and take steps to secure your bank accounts and review who has access to any accounts you hold. I feel confident with LifeLock’s advisor service as they do work they offer other products that compliment Advisor as well which I’d also recommend especially if you run a business or are going to purchase a home. It’s so easy to setup and it literally could save you countless hours trying to fix identity theft problems. I’d absolutely recommend it!

Throughout the years my wife and I have subscribed to several different ID protection programs. We’ve tried the inexpensive ones and we’ve tried the more expensive ones. What we’ve found was a lot of times, the more expensive brands will have their website and mobile apps be overly complicated in the name of being better. But what happened was we got tired of the over complications. We just wanted the important information a click away. We wanted simplicity, but with all the features and information the more expensive programs had. I think we’ve found it with LifeLock. I’ve always heard of LifeLock through advertisements, but I never thought to use it (for no reason other than I used whatever fell into my lap). Now I know what I’ve been losing out on the whole time. This program couldn’t be more simple to use and utilize. The set-up was super easy too. You just enter 9 different pieces of information and it’ll take it from there. The mobile app is actually great too! Far too many times the mobile apps are an afterthought and half baked. Not LifeLock’s app. From now on, this is the only program we’ll use to protect our identities. Trust the reviews.

No introduction needed for Norton very trusted brand when it comes to security, my personal data got compromised multiple times and getting out of it is a very big process, having a software and a app which secures and monitors your precious and very important data is a life saver and that too without going through complex setup process.
Setting up Norton LifeLock Identity Advisor is a very easy and simple process just create your account using email and enter basic information and verify email that’s it done, Once the setup is done add what are all the personal information you want to be monitored and secured to the app or software it starts instantly searching normal web and dark web about your leaked data and alerts you if there any and recommends you what are all actions can be taken in order to secure your data, you can freeze your credit with multiple credit bureaus using this product so that no one can open bank accounts or credit cards on your name ,even if something goes wrong dont worry you are liable for anything Norton will take care on your behalf and reimburse upto 1 million and secure your data and identity back
Finally i can have a piece of mind thinking that my data is secured all times even if it gets compromised am in a good hands

I’m a fan of the lack of install. Simply the webpage. But this is also part of my concern. They ask for things like my bank accounts, credit cards, mother’s maiden name, insurance, driver’s license. This is a LOT of personal information to put in here since even THIS is conceivably hackable. We’ve all had notices from places we had personal data stored, telling us there was a breach, either an actual hack, something simply carelessly unpatched, someone inside copying data, literally hundreds of reasons why that company didn’t secure our data. For me, I rarely have anything anywhere like this. If someone gets a password to one place, it’s not a huge deal since every one of my passwords are different for every site, so losing one password doesn’t impact me much. Where I shop, I don’t save even credit card information, I fill it in each time in a non-persistent state…

So this is really pushing my trust limits. But at least the credit card info is only asking for the number, not the expiration date or any CVV data. So even if they were compromised, it doesn’t have the critical data needed. It only lets you save 10 credit cards though, which is likely sufficient for most people. There are limits to other things as well, 5 email addresses, 5 phone numbers, 5 insurance accounts, etc…

Not a fan of the main page. They have huge icons and text for all these bits of identity information you have to enter, with left and right buttons on each end to scroll through the list. It makes it REALLY annoying to enter the data, since you enter something, then have to click that annoying button to get BACK WHERE YOU JUST WERE to enter the next bit of data.

And you can NOT copy/past credit card numbers, that is a HUGE annoyance. Enter a credit card number, for example, then click “Save” and it closes that window, and you have to scroll again to find it again and enter another. Seriously, they should just allow multiple entries, or at least if you have to enter one at a time, give an option, “Would you like to enter another?” before closing out the whole window and making you go back to the beginning of the process.

And after getting four cards set up, I couldn’t get a fifth to save. It kept telling me, “Must be 19 characters or less,” and there were only 16 numbers. Even deleting everything and trying again, it kept giving me the same bogus error. Took me exiting out and trying again four or five times before it finally accepted another number.

They have an “Identity Lock” section on the navigation pane on the left. Credit lock isn’t included but apparently this is an upsell opportunity for them as they have a phone number here to call so you can upgrade. This section also has the links to freeze things for each agency, Experian, Equifax, Transunion. It also has links to manage a freeze for your bank, utilities, and Tax ID Theft protection, where you can set up an IP PIN that would be required every time you file taxes. Since I do file electronically, and I just verified that what I used last year, and likely will use again, H&R’s software, DOES support the IP PIN option, I followed their link and got to the IRS webpage. Conveniently it can use ID.me which I’ve already got set up for some VA things I have. So getting the IP PIN set up was less than a minute. Considering the increasing number of IRS refund thefts, this is certainly a handy thing for me to have had a link for, since I hadn’t even known about this offering from the IRS prior to this software.

The website is pretty basic at this point, since I’ve had no information entered for long, there’s no reporting it can tell me about yet. But when I checked my email, I saw I had an email already half an hour ago from Lifelock. So that would’ve had to have been sent pretty much instantly after I was filling in the email addresses I commonly use. Sure enough, some old things from 6 or 7 years ago for sites that either don’t exist anymore, I don’t use anymore, and all with passwords that were changed years ago as well.

The information they give can be useful to the right person, but I’m picturing someone like my mother, or a bunch of my clients (I’m the CTO of an IT company) seeing this, and they’d likely panic. The first thing it says for, “What can you do next?” It says if your notification mentions an email, change the password associated with it. This would be really problematic in some instances. Because Adobe had a breach in 2016 and I had a Hotmail account associated with it, there’s absolutely NO REASON I should be told to change my email password. They didn’t breach Microsoft in this 2016 data leak, so Adobe would have had no way to know my email password. So the information here really should be tweaked some. I can see clients or relatives calling me for help from something like this, causing them far more work than it needs to because the details are poorly written out.

They DO have handy information here though, about changing the WEBSITE password for sites that were compromised, not to use the same password everywhere. They upsell their Norton Password Manager on this page as well, although that’s not unexpected.

And that’s about all you can do. Fill in the information, then sit back and wait. There are quite a few services that do this “dark web” scanning, and all seem to do some big scare tactic about how “dangerous” it is to have anything out here, when in the majority of the cases it’s pretty minor things that I’ve ever seen exposed for ANYONE up to this point at the end of 2022. As I noted above, I’m the CTO of an IT consulting company, so we have a lot of clients scattered around the world, and so far we’ve never had anyone actually impacted by anything like this in the last 20 years.

Having been a person with an account that was exposed in some security breach or other within the past year (who hasn’t, with so many places being hacked) I’ve already got a free couple year of Experian Identity Works going, so I thought I’d see if this ended up doing anything more. This does track quite a few more things than the Experian offer does, so it’s definitely more comprehensive. Although Experian found my home phone number in a dark web search just two weeks ago. Norton found things when I installed it, but THIS one it totally missed. Norton only found things that were 6 to 7 years old.

On the home page, I can’t really tell what is tied ONLY to this, and what was tied to a Norton 360 service I had tried out earlier in the year and then removed since I didn’t care for it. So my dashboard here may have more things than you’d get only from the Lifelock protection service. I have a lot of ads though about upselling other things, other stuff Norton wants me to subscribe to, or if I extend my subscription today (I just ACTIVATED it today) they’ll give me 3 extra months, etc. I’ve never been a fan of things like this on the main status page for something I’m paying for.

In this digital age, its more important than ever to protect your information on the internet as it’s so easy for your information and money to be stolen. Lifelock is a fantastic product that can provide anyone some peace of mind that you can be alerted immediately when someone tries to steal from you and gives you the opportunity to lock down all your accounts right away. It covers everything from your credit card, address, phone number, email addresses, bank accounts, and even gamer tags which was really interesting to see.

Set up was super easy and intuitive, you simply input your information and Lifelock scans the internet for any exposure right away and continues to monitor your information. Lifelock will immediately notify you of any issues by either email, text, or even phone. After inputting my information, I received several reports of several websites that my information had been exposed on. It also comes with a convenient mobile app that is super easy to use as well.

TL;DR: Lifelock is a great product if want peace of mind when browsing the digital age. It will monitor your information so you can safely browse the web.

  9. Samsing

Due to various identity fraud issues in my life over the last 10 years, I have had the “benefit” of receiving various free identity alert guidance. However, all of my “free” options have run out, so I picked up the Lifelock Identity Advisor to make sure there weren’t any unexpected changes. There is a convenient dashboard and I received emails immediately with issues that I should look into.

This software appears to have all of the primary coverage that I’ve seen from other companies including phone number, bank account information, credit card number, home address and email address. But I haven’t seen Driver’s License Number, Insurance Number, or Gamer Tag (is this a concern?). I generally think more is better, so that’s a nice wrinkle.

The best wrinkle that I noticed was the option to prevent other people from filing their taxes in your name – a new scam where people obtain gift cards by falsifying your tax return. So I like that I won’t need to consider that as an issue in the future thanks to this software.

The software is very clear that the option to freeze is included, but not the option to “lock” your credit. Locking your credit requires additional cost — now, this may be a valuable option, but I have been fortunate enough to never need it and wouldn’t want to pay for something that I wouldn’t use. Generally, I think the freeze is enough if there are any credit issues, because other people can’t access my credit records and therefore it’s more difficult to obtain a false account under my name.

So just really happy with this software as it provides me with the security to make sure no one is destroying my credit.

  10. TechFan

I ordered this to add to my existing Norton subscription and so far it seems ok. It’s nothing really special to this point, but I guess that could be considered a good thing until I need it. I believe in the mantra that it’s better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

The initial installation was a bit confusing because there were really no instructions on how to download and install it. I reached out to customer service for instructions on how to install this and about a day or so later I recevied a response. Basically, i had to log into my account and select the software. I have to admit, it was a bit confusing and it is possible that I dont have it completely installed, but I have gotten some notifications to date about my personal information being found on the dark web. This is one thing i think they need to fix. Installation should be pretty cut and try. Download the software and install it. Simple.

I will continue to use the software to see if it really benefits me while I have the subscription and then determine if its something I truly need to pay for. As of right now, I dont really think so, but time will tell.

  11. HBCUgrad13

The LifeLock Identity Advisor is identity theft protection in a small, but easy-to-understand package. LifeLock covers the essential needs in monitoring private information. I found the interface easy to navigate and interact with. I was able to get monitoring attached to a number of things such as addresses, emails, phone numbers, bank accounts, credit cards, and other things as well. Fortunately, LifeLock allows for multiple entries within these categories which is a major plus. Upon completing registration, I received an alert within 10 minutes to a comprised account. Fortunately, that account was no longer in use, but it did convince me to update multiple passwords as an extra precaution. The only real drawback to this software is that subscription can only be used on 1 adult at a time. It would be more advantageous to offer family plans for the service to provide an additional layer of protection. Despite being limited to only one individual, the product is useful and definitely a recommendation as a must-have.

  12. Discount Computer Service

LifeLock identity theft protection by Norton is effective and simple to set up. Within just a few moments of setting up your profile, you simply just go through a series of questions and inputting all of your personal information, including address, phone numbers, mothers maiden name, credit cards, and even your gamertags. The process was simple, however I will say when I tried to add my address to my profile multiple times I was getting an error message and still have not been able to add my address to my profile. I also noticed that you are only allowed to add up to 10 credit or debit cards which may seem like a lot but I know a lot of people have more than 10 so you’ll just have to pick and choose which 10 cards you would like to add. I did not have more than 10 so this wasn’t an issue for me, but I’m just pointing out that it may be an issue for other people that are potentially looking to purchase LifeLock for themselves. Other than that, everything seems perfect. In fact, as soon as I added my information, I got two notifications that some of my information was found on the dark web. After reviewing the notifications, I realized that it really wasn’t a big deal. It was only an email address that was leaked. No passwords or anything else so it wasn’t severe. But I can highly recommend any and everyone having this in today’s age with identity theft becoming the number one cyber crime in the world, you can’t be too careful to protect your information and LifeLock by Norton does just that!

  13. jsnkc28

This is a great companion to the Norton Security program I already have on my computer.
Its very easy to set up. You can enter as much or as little information as you want. With this package you can monitor 5 physical addresses, 5 phone numbers, 5 emails, your mothers maiden name, drivers license, as well as 10 bank accounts and 10 credit cards. You can even enter health or auto insurance or other types of insurance and even your gamer tag ID’s! You just enter in all the information into their secure servers, and they do the rest!
The great thing is that they not only protect you for the future, but they protect you in the past as well. As soon as I entered my information, I got notifications that some of my information was previously found on the dark web and may not be secure. So, it’s a great way to check up on what information you already have is secure, and what isn’t.
Another great feature is that you can do credit or bank freezes right in the program. If you get an alert that something is wrong, you can instantly freeze things instead of fumbling around trying to find contact information to get thigs frozen. Anyone who has had bank account information stolen before knows that the sooner you can freeze accounts, the better! It only takes a matter of minutes to wipe out your entire bank account
Overall, it’s a great program with TONS of things you can monitor to make sure your identity and accounts are safe! I would highly recommend it!

    INTRODUCTION:

The LifeLock Identity Advisor has gained universal recognition as the best known go-to source for identity protection. LifeLock offers 3 levels of effective protection for your identity & your assets. I chose the most basic plan, because it addressed these concerns:

    – Social Security Number & Credit Alerts.
    – Lost Wallet Protection.
    – Verified United Sates Post Office Address Changes.
    – Monitored Privacy.
    – Monitored Dark Web.
    – Monitored Credit.
    – United States based Restoration Team.

    REVIEW:

LifeLock consists of a do-it-yourself layout. You enter data by answering a simple questionnaire.

The settings are easy-to-configure. You control the protection level, and can change settings any time.

    CONCLUSION:

LifeLock is a bargain, alerting you by cell phone, text or email & covering up to 10 credit or debit cards, your home address, gamer tags, insurance, email, bank accounts & more. I highly recommend it for affordable peace of mind.

  15. David

Life Lock Identity Advisor is a decent identity monitoring service which can give you peace of mind. Identity Advisor is a monitoring service which monitors the dark web for your identity details and gives you alerts if your info is found and gives you direction on how to correct any accounts that may be compromised. The way it works is that you enter things like email addresses, names, mailing addresses, and account numbers to monitor. Then it gets to work checking the dark web to see if any of this info is found for sale or otherwise compromised. It is somewhat limited. 5 emails, 5 addresses, 5 phone numbers, 1 Driver’s License, 10 bank accounts, 10 credit cards, and 10 gamer tags. This is a decent amount for an individual, but if you want to monitor a whole family for instance, you may need to pay for multiple licenses. One noticeable exclusion is SSN. I was very surprised that it offers no kind of monitoring for SSN. What is there though, is pretty thorough and gives me pretty good peace of mind. Luckily, it only found a few of my details out there. Namely, old accounts from sites I don’t use anymore. But it gives you direction on how to update and change passwords if needed. And if it recommends you freeze your credit, it gives you assistance in doing that as well, making it as easy as possible. Overall, I found Life Lock Identity Advisor very easy to use, and it seems to work well.

  16. Mike

I thought it would be more complicated but the software is pretty straightforward. Very easy to use and does not blasts you with alerts.

  17. DakotaDan

Lifelock Identity Advisor was incredibly easy and quick to setup. It does take some time to enter all of your information to ensure the product works effectively with identifying risks, but the basic setup is relatively easy. The app is very user-friendly as well. The product completes an initial dark web scan back to 2008 which is a great benefit if you haven’t already been using a product to monitor your identity. It continues to monitor the dark web. Not much has been found yet, but maybe that’s a good thing. You also get subscribed to a newsletter that provides some articles to help protect your identity as well. The content overall is ok. None of the content was anything I hadn’t heard before. Overall, the product is good and offers some degree of reassurance that your identity is being monitored by a reputable company – Norton.

My only con is that I think it’s far more valuable to get a product with broader coverage. For the cost difference, I’d prefer to have a product that provides additional security for all my devices and members of my family while this product is limited to identity monitoring for a single adult.

  18. MoniMouse

LifeLock Identity Advisor digs deep to find your information on the Dark Web and on sites where your data may have been breached. The Dark Web is a place that cyber criminals do all sorts of things, but I’m only concerned about my data being out there for sale or for the taking. The information that LifeLock Identity Advisor looks for is all based on what information you provide. Current and previous names used, addresses, users to 5 phone numbers, up to 5 email addresses, drivers licenses, insurance, mothers maiden name, gamer tag, financial information such as up to 10 bank accounts and up to 10 credit cards. If your information is found anywhere, they will send you a notification via text or email. You can specify which one to send it to. The first time I ran it, it found an account that I had created once upon a time, and no longer used. A data breach has occurred in 2021, and I was unaware of the breach. I was given advice to go to the site and change my password. I did as advised and the problem was solved. This is a great tool to use and you can use it on unlimited devices. The second time I ran it, it didn’t find the password on the original account it told me about, so it works.

  19. DITGUY17

The Norton – 360 Deluxe (3-Device) with LifeLock Identity Advisor (1 Adult) (1-Year Subscription with Auto Renewal) software is something that I can recommend to all of my family and friends.

I have been using the software on all of my devices. The entire software includes an antivirus software, password manager, VPN software, Norton utilities, and the life Lock identity monitoring. All of the products individually are great, but you get the most value when bundling them together.

I did not have any Norton products prior. I had to go to their registration page to set my account up, which was pretty straight forward. After that, I entered in my information, and began downloading the software.

Once I had everything setup, it was time to test everything. The VPN is simple, nothing too complex. It was interesting though that after I entered in a few email addresses and phone numbers, I had some security alerts for accounts I had not used in years! I went back to address them just to be sure.

In this day in age, having this type of monitoring is a must. There is no price on peace of mind.

I think the best thing I can say about this product is no news is good news!

I was looking to put a freeze on my credit reports, however the level of lifelock I have doesn’t allow that option. So far I’ve added my email accounts, for which I got a security alert on. My drivers license, thankfully no hits there. Finally I’ve added my address as well.
The other options I can use are my bank accounts, credit card info and insurance, none of which I’ve done yet.

I guess that had I read the description a little more carefully, I’d realize that what Norton Lifelock doesn’t do is give me secure web browsing information. That’s on me not the product
So heads up, if you’re just wanting dark web monitoring and ID restoration services…this is the product for you. Otherwise do a bit more research and find something that will fit your needs.
So, the Identity Advisor does what it says it’ll do for me, but I will also be looking around for something that has a few more bells and whistles to fit my needs.

With technology being literally all around us, it is important to keep one’s personal information safe. You are constantly hearing more and more often people’s identity being stolen and a bunch of other horror stories. I felt that it was important to add a layer of protection to my personal information and recently go my hands on the LifeLock Identity Advisor.

The sign-up was a breeze. I just entered a few pieces of information and was on my way to to being protected. With dark web monitoring, app based notifications, and live support, I feel comfortable knowing that my identity is secure.

It is peace of mind that you get knowing that your identity is being monitored by a trusted service provider. You can never be too safe, and you can always take preventative measures at a relatively low cost.

And yes, I know that you are not always 100% secure, but LifeLock offers restoration specialist help to make sure that issues are resolved if you need them.

I feel better knowing that I will get a notification if my information is every found somewhere in the web. I would definitely recommend LifeLock Identity Advisor to anyone.

I’m writing this review based on the ease of setup and weekly status reports only. It was extremely easy to get Life Lock Identity Advisor setup and monitoring my life. The user interface is very easy to use and intuitive. I get weekly updates on how Life Lock is protecting my identity and that peace of mind is very nice. I wish I could report how they take action when a threat is detected but since there are no threats on my account as of yet (knock on wood) I can’t really review that part of the service. I can say that I will be recommending this service to all my friends as you really can’t have too many services looking after your best interests these days with all of the identity theft and cyber crimes committed every minute. It’s pretty scary to know that you could have your life turned upside down in a moment and have a long road to recovery without a having service like LifeLock monitoring your everyday activities and checking in with you when it sees something out of the ordinary.

With Identity theft on the rise, I was looking for a shield of sorts. I chose Norton LifeLock Identity advisor. The protection is something I needed to protect my credit and finances. I was impressed by the UI in the dashboard, but it’s basic add-on software. I needed more with the current cyber crimes and things of that nature.
To help you monitor things, you have to pay for more features and configuration. It has some features that I like, such as adding several addresses, email addresses, your license, etc. But most of the info that I was alerted to can be found with a general search. I was looking for more control over my credit profile and dark web protection.
I wanted the credit lock feature, but you have to upgrade, which means more money to pay. I didn’t research the price for the upgrade, but I have credit protection with my Bank. So that will be enough. Also able to freeze your credit account so I can TransUnion Equifax Experian. But to me, it’s an essential piece of software that, if you got more than 360, you don’t need it.

Super easy to download and install. I already have a VPN subscription from Norton, so adding this went swift and smoothly. I can login and see my dashboard, alerts, identity lock and monitored info features. Fortunately, nothing was found when the system ran my identity so I haven’t had to use this to freeze my social or anything like that, but there is the option to do so and this adds a sense of security. With how things are nowadays, I better be protected than be sorry later. The website is easy to navigate and really have no issues with it. Personally, I haven’t had to call support but I hear good things about their customer service. I always trust Norton with my electronic devices and this product is no different. I think this can be a good gift to our older parents who are more prone to scammers or falling for some of those internet traps, so I actually got one of these for my dad and my mom. I want them to feel safe as they navigate the internet and use random apps especially because they are not the best at using the internet. Overall, it’s simple and offers protection, and I appreciate this very much.

The installation/registration was amazingly simple and the information was easily displayed on the dashboard. It provided an accurate credit score and allowed for the review of alerts or tags to your information. In order to get the best use of the software or best protection you need to input your information. The more detailed information you enter , the better the tracking and searching on the dark web for your compromised information. The dashboard has the information displayed in an easy to read format. The monitoring service also allows for the monitoring of social media accounts, gamer tags, credit cards, DL, social security number, it pretty much will keep an eye out for any info you input. It also lets you lock your identity, preventing someone from opening a credit card account or applying for a short term loan without your knowledge. It also allows for restoration services, if you find a a discrepency it will put you in contact with restoration services to help clear your account. A very simple and necessary software in todays day and age.

In this day and age, one of the worst things that can happen to you financially is to have your identity stolen. It happened to me 20+ years ago before it became much more frequent. Someone got a hold of my ATM number and started racking up bills. It started with a carton of cigarettes and some gas. They worked their way up to jewelry and electronics. I found out about it when I was notified that my bank account was overdrawn. Thankfully, my bank returned the funds to my account and they were able to bust the guy.

LifeLock Identity Advisor could have helped me. They monitor the dark web, private forums, and social media sites around the world for your personal information and alert you if any of it is found. They give you notice so you can change any exposed passwords or pins. It has an easy to use interface. Not only do they offer live support, but they have US based specialists that can help resolve any issues that may come up.

Don’t get your identity stolen and be caught off guard. Be in the know and have the experts at Norton help you before the problems arise.

This is a good value compared to what I have with the credit companies give out at this level. This is a year subscription for one pre-paid price versus what amounts to $4-24 a month, but there are some important differences than what you might get from a credit bureau account.

You can have 9 different categories monitored: eMail addresses, addresses, phone numbers, your mother’s maiden name, driver’s license, insurance accounts, credit cards, bank accounts, and gamer tags. What it will do is scan each of these credentials and make sure that they are not stolen or tampered with during the lifetime of your subscription.

This is a little less comprehensive than what you would get with a full LifeLock subscription. I would call this LifeLock Light. You get all the Dark Web monitoring and identity theft protection, but none of the insurance. So if you’ve seen the big $$$ guarantees on TV or otherwise that go along with most LifeLock plans, this is not one of them.

It’s really easy to install this on your computer because it’s really only web based. There’s an app component for your phone, but I doubt you’d interface with it on your phone. This is really a set it and forget it type of item. It will send a message to tell you when something you’ve asked it to monitor was found on the dark web or otherwise, and then you’d need to figure out the plan of action for yourself. If you want a more proactive team you need to go to a higher plan. I do like that it streamlines freezing your big3 credit reporting companies, which is the mark of a higher end plan. Nice to see it in this product.

I tried this out for a month and I think I’ll keep it. I like it a lot! It’s way more straightforward than the competition. Very easy to see your information. I realize this is not a comprehensive solution and that’s all I need for now. I do wish that it had some kind of insurance vs. nothing, but at least I’d know that something happened.

So here’s the deal… This is a bit of a difficult product to review, at least based on efficacy, because in all honesty, I hope I never need to find out how effective it is! I’d rather NOT have my identity stolen!

That said, I’ll start with set-up… I’m not going to lie, the setup was a little frustrating. Over the years, I have had several iterations of both Norton products and Lifelock products. Well, after trying to sign up with a number of legacy Email addresses. Apparently, this product is designed for new users only. Not a huge deal, I just created another Email account and tried to log in. All should be good right? Nope, the code was associated with the legacy Email I signed up for. Circular firing squad.

Having received this from the Best Buy Technical Insider Network program, I was able to contact a support team at Norton who was able to re-assign the code to my new account.

Once I had it set up, it was pretty straight forward. The other minor frustration I had was that there is a lot of bouncing back and forth between the app and browser. For example, you click on a function in the app and it opens a web-browser. Kind’a frusturating.

End of the day, I’m sure it does what it does well and I’ll close where I opened… I hope I never find out!

The LifeLock Identity Advisor annual subscription is peace of mind in a world of uncertainty when it comes to you personal data and information. It’s easy to setup the service and within minutes you can be notified of any fraudulent activity related to your personal identifiable Information (PII) and be given recommendations on what steps to take to rectify and mitigate any concerns.

I was generally familiar with LifeLock prior to starting the service, but now that I’m enrolled, I see all the wonderful benefits firsthand. No complicated enrollment processes, no questionable information submissions. Just activate your account and you are good to go. You can download the app on your mobile device and get alerts when activity is detected. You can set up approvals for changes to your data, things like opening new accounts or applying for credit.

I love the dashboard. All of your information in one location where you can see the most important details that you would want to monitor and drill down into each section for a more comprehensive look.

It’s severely important to protect your information in this digital age. Having the ability to stay informed with real time alerts and information and to be able to place locks on your data is extremely valuable. I highly recommend the LifeLock Advisor service. You will be glad you enrolled.

So I will start off by saying I already have had by personal info stolen and used. Ever since then, I have been very vigilant. After having gone through that, I can say that any protection you can get is worth it. Lifelock is a very reputable company and I was excited to try this product.

The Lifelock identify advisor is very basic but one that I think provides a level of protection that will benefit virtually anybody who uses the internet. It is very simple and easy to use. You just enter your basic personal information and it will monitor those things. You add emails, addresses, phone numbers, cards, bank info. It will see if there is any leaked data and what you can do. I think with all of these tools, you must also have the drive to actively protect your information. Sure, this will identify leaked info but you have to be the one to change passwords, etc. These are monitoring tools and are not a replacement or one-stop shop to prevent identify theft.

All in all, this is another good tool to help prevent identity theft. It is not all-encompassing but can definitely benefit everyone.

Seems great, no problem with ID theft, realized I needed to update some passwords and what data breaches I have been a part of. Works fast and easy

I’m going to be honest with you. If you’re reading this review, you may be wondering if you should buy this LIfeLock Indentity Advisor or not. My honest opinion? If you’ve never had anything suspicious happen to you where someone is using your info to apply for credit cards or account passwords haven’t been stolen, you probably don’t have a need for this.

However, if something like this has happened with you or you want to be extra secure, it doesn’t hurt to have. I applied the subscription and was shown the benefits of this immediately. When you access LifeLock, it tells you where your information is public and has been released on the internet.

For example, it notified me that Dropbox has leaked my password and that I should change it. Anything suspicious that’s going on on the internet that has your info, it will let you know. I don’t know how it’s able to do this, but it does.

You can even set up alerts so that you know right away if something is odd or out of place that it detects.

Overall this is great if you feel your accounts/yourself keep getting hacked. Even if you don’t in actuality but feel like you do, this can provide extra comfort for you letting you know what passwords you should change to be safer on the internet.

  33. DennisP

It doesn’t really have enough features to be an identity product. Be aware it’s not software you install, but a web portal you login to.

  34. Bomber1955

Makes me feel much better about my personal security online. With so many hackers out there anymore, you need to do everything you can to protect yourself.

  35. Shana

Brought to see if it will work. Will update review if it changes.
