I am BEYOND ecstatic with this washer and matching dryer! I live in a townhouse with laundry on the second floor, so I had my hesitations about a front loader. My mom and sister both have older front loaders, and they literally shake across the floor. And my old Whirlpool top loader shook all over the place. I did A LOT of research and saw that LG by far had the best customer and professional reviews overall. So, I took the plunge and purchased this one and the matching dryer. Let me tell you– I think technology has come a long way when compared to my mom’s 3-4 year old front loader. This washer is soooo quiet. Even at top spin speed with 10 bath towels, you barely hear it. And better yet, you don’t feel your house, walls, or floors vibrating! I really can’t believe how quiet this washer is, and I have washed every type and size of laundry load- all quiet, no shaking.
And the cleaning power is amazing. Our bath towels had begun to get that musty smell, so I washed them on the Allergy Steam clean, and guess what- musty smell gone and they are bright, fluffy and new looking again! I also steam cleaned my cream-colored slip covers from our sofa, and they came out fantastic. I had never washed those before, so they had 2 years worth of stains, greasy fingerprints, and more on them. It looks like I have a new couch.
Really can’t say enough how satisfied I am. Worth every penny.

Our washer went out over Memorial Day weekend, so we were in a rush to find a washer/dryer set that we could count on for at least the next 10 years or more. Plus we have a second floor laundry room and needed something quiet. After doing our research, we settled on this LG series and couldn’t be happier. The technology is mesmerizing — I’ve caught myself turning on the drum light (stays on for 4 minutes before automatically turning off) just to watch the cycle and how it works. And with so many cycles to choose from, you’ve got your bases covered. The cycle selection/display is intuitive and easy to use.
At first, I was worried that there wasn’t enough water to adequately wash a load of laundry, but in true high efficiency fashion, I confirmed that it’s meant to be that way. Love the little song that plays at the end of each load’s cycle (and yes, if you’re not into that, you can mute it). Suddenly, doing laundry doesn’t seem like (as much) work anymore. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

The mulitude of cycle options is incredible. I am most impressed with the washer’s ability to get out tough stains without pretreatment or soaking. Some cycles are very long, like the Allergiene and sanitary, but well worth the time for people with severe allergies or young children. The speed wash, 15 minutes, is fabulous when you have a last minute item. Finally, the spin cycle wrings out laundry so throughly you can significantly reduce drying time.

Without going into technical details (of which I pretty much know nothing with regards to washers), this washer does everything I want it to do and it looks good doing it.
I like that it has a stainless steel drum, it’s quiet and has numerous settings so you can have your clothes cleaned just about any way you want.
Capacity does *seem* a little smaller than a standard top-loading washer, but that just may be a perception on my part since I’m getting used to the whole front-loading thing. But it’s not enough to keep me from recommending this washer to anyone looking for something new.

I decided to pull the trigger on the LG steam washer/dryer combo as an upgrade from our old Whirlpool combo. It is pricey especially if you’re on a budget but I looked at it as, hey this is something you use almost daily so spend the money. I am glad I did as this is one of the best items I have purchased in a long time. The steam cleaning is great and the most noticeable feature was how quiet it is to run. I actually thought it wasn’t on when I did the first load and had to look inside the little window to see my clothes bouncing around. Unbelievable. Being a maiximizer I tend to “fill’er up” which is normally a bad idea for actually getting your clothes clean but this thing tosses your clothes around a few times to measure how large the load is and adjusts the wash time accordingly! Brilliant! Absolutely no complaints here.

This washer was exactly what we were looking for. We needed to replace our GE that stopped working after 15 years. What amazes me the most is how quiet it runs especially on the spin cycle given how fast it spins. The clothes come out much dryer than our previous machine and clotes air dry faster and with less wrinkles. We are also able to wash larger loads and all of our clothes come out smelling and looking very clean.
We do wipe down the inside of the door and rubber seal on the machine after we are done washing for the day, leave the door on the slightly open setting for a couple of hours and we have yet to smell anything other than detergent.
I would also like to comment that Best Buy did an amazing job of helping us before and after our purchase…I would reccommend Best Buy to anyone looking to make a large applliance purchase!

Quiet, fast, gets close clean and almost makes it fun to do laundry. I’d use less soap than the tray calls for, there is a normal and heavy line, I fill slightly below the normal line.

My wife was a little worried about all the buttons but found out that this washer is easier than her old one to operate. It is very quiet, does not vibrate or move around and our clothes come out cleaner and brighter than when we used our old machine. We went back and forth on the steam option, but now that we have it, we are very glad we went ahead and got it. It really made our comforters smell clean and fresh. I am impressed with LG products as we have several applicances and a cell phone that are LG.

We purchased this unit 8 months ago. It has failed to operate so we called LG and was informed that it would take 3 to 5 days to locate a repair technician. We waited 6 days and had to call LG and was told they finally found a repair tech. however they would not be coming out for another 10 days! Finally after 16 days without our washer we have been told that the part must be ordered and it will take another 9 days before he will return to install the part. Not very good service from LG. Upon calling LG to get faster service was informed that’s all they could do! Again “THINK TWICE BEFORE PURCHASING”

Have used every cycle on this washer and they all work great. It’s gotten old stains out that were in my clothes for months before that my old Whirlpool didn’t touch. Some of the cycles can be a little long (over an hour) but my clothes come out great. I’m so very, very glad I chose LG over Samsung. ( I was considering both). The sales associate recommended I dry around the rubber gasket at the end of a day of washing to prevent mold or smells and I’ve done that. No odor whatsoever. You will not be sorry if you choose this set.

I purchased this washer back in June 2011, you can’t go wrong with this washer. Thoroughly cleans, quiet (so much so from another room I have to check to see if it’s on), and as long as you follow the owner’s manual doesn’t leave a terrible smell around the rubber seal. For those looking for a washer for their 2nd floor laundry room this is it. I love all the washing options and energy savings — I haven’t noticed a real difference in my utility bill. I’m completely happy w/ my purchase.

I love my new washer! I could tell a difference right away in how well it cleaned our clothes. I haven’t had any issues other than trying to keep my toddler away from the fun buttons. (But it does have a child lock!) It does kind of sound like a jet engine when winding down, but its only noticeable if you’re listening for it. I will definately be buying the matching dryer!

I love this washer (and the matching dryer)! I have never (and I have had lots!!!) had a washer that worked so well and got everything so clean. I have another brand that I thought was wonderful, BUT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST ON THE MARKET (In my opinion!). There are so many options for stain removal, sanitize, steam, normal, and I have used most of them with great satisfaction. Although I was a little afraid at first, but I washed a king-size comforter and it came out beautiful! The matching dryer is a must have as well. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE LG SUPERCAPACITY WASHER DRYER COMBO!!!

This washer works great! It is very quiet, and uses less water and soap than my old toploader. Even though it is mounted on a pedestal, there is very little vibration, even when spinning at high speed. Along with the matching dryer and pedestals, these things are so cool, they look like they would be at home on the starship enterprise!

It is fairly new to me still but I have used a number of different settings on it already and I love it. The only thing I can possibly say may be a negitive is sometimes it feels like the clothes could be a little bit more dry from the spin cycle. But then other times, they are almost dry…so I think it just depends on the settings and types of loads. It even plays you a little tune at the end of the cycle! LOL Looks good, performs good, sounds good! Its very quiet too.

We bought a Samsung steam washer and dryer set last year. The washer had problems balancing a load since day one. It would walk all over our laundry room. Samsung came out 6 times before I made them give me my money back so we could get new machines. This washer is slightly smaller than the Samsung, but its quieter, it doesn’t shake anywhere near as much, and it seams to clean clothes better, no more little grease spots on shirts and pants transferred from other clothes.

Great: features, VERY quiet, spins stuff until it’s almost dry, uses very little detergent. Doesn’t beat the life out of our clothes.
Not great: small and gray control labels on darker gray paint- low contrast, hard to see, need to use a flashlight to see what we’re selecting.
Overall, I’d recommend- just put in a brightly lit area or get a white washer.
Nice feature is the music that plays when it’s done- first time we heard it we thought the ice cream truck was driving by.
Also, Best Buy delivery guys were great- on time, polite, professional, very fast, installed it very well, took my old w&d away.

Our old washer was a loud, clothing-eating monster, so it wasn’t hard to improve upon it. But this LG washer is an incredible improvement! It’s hard to beat the choices in cycles and features for the money we spent. Admittedly, we bought it along with the companion dryer during one of Best Buy’s sales, so we got it at an amazing price.
Although I haven’t really begun to put it through its paces yet, I’m already impressed with it’s low water consumption & quietness. Due to reading other reviews, I leave the door open after I’m done with washing, so that no mold or mildew develop in the door seal area. (A minor detail that is common to all front loading washers)

We got these super on sale at best buy! We bought them originally for 1000 each, but then they went on super sale the week of Thanksgiving and they dropped to $700 each! What a deal! BestBuy was fantastic during the whole process, the delivery was great and they came right when they said they would. They held to their word and refunded the price change directly to my card and I was in and out with my $600 price change within a couple of minutes. The washer and dryer are fantastic…I’ve never had better machines! The only thing I don’t like is that I have to leave the door of the washer open in order to avoid mildew smells.

I was looking for a way to quiet down the washer and dryer that are in a closet / room off of my family room. I was replacing some top loading models. I have had it for a couple months. It exceeded my expectations for quiet I can barely hear it working while watching my TV. It uses so little water and will fit my king sized comforter that I was unable to wash in my top loader. They are a little low to load so I made my own pedestal to raise it up. They do sell some but for big dollars. I would recommend raising it up. The size was larger and the doors have to swing out so make sure you have enough room for all that. It does a great job of getting clothes clean and the speed that the spin cycle uses removes so much water that the dryer is quick to finish the job. I did my research and this is supposed to be the most energy efficient pair for the money. I work with hydraulic oil and my clothes get messed up. This machine does as good as my old machine at getting the oil out with the added feature of the pre-soak with detergent works so much better. I have little need for the steam but know that when we have a virus in the house we use it for trying to keep it at bay. The one feature that i didn’t expect to work as well as it did was the auto balancing. It works so well at keeping me from having to fix the (bang-bang-bang). That also added to the quiet operation of the washing machine. The dryer that paired with it works great too.

I went from a top loader to this side loader and I couldn’t be happier. I am convinced that my clothes now will last longer due to not having the agitation of the top loader. I can fit a huge amount of clothes in this washer. As soon as I got it I washed all my pillows, sleeping bags and comforters. All of them did great and fit. The clothes come out clean and its worth the longer wash time. I have also used the quick wash feature that takes 15 minutes for something we needed right away and it worked great as well. I had my father in law build a stand to put it on the exact specifications of the drawer they sell and it works great and saved me a bunch of $. It has a cool feature that allows you to have the door stay cracked open when not in use so the inside doesn’t get stinky. Every time aI do the wash it puts a smile on my face.

My first front loader, works great, many choices for types of load, getting used to the way it works takes some time, but is very efficient and have no problems. The only bad thing, not about this particular washer, but front loaders in general. Tend to drop small items on the floor when transferring from the washer to the dryer.

We bought this on a super sale before Black Friday. Gravitated towards it because of the price and sale included for buying a set. Couldn’t be happier with it. We love the many features and have noticed how much less detergent we use. We had top loaders before and they made so much noise from vibrating back and forth. I actually set a cup of coffee on top of the unit and there weren’t any ripples showing up. We also thought it was funny and great that when the washer is done, it plays a little song instead of letting out a loud, annoying buzzing sound. It’s super quiet, very efficient, and well worth it. We have been happy with LG products before and buying this washer and its accompanying dryer have vaulted our respect for their brand.

I can only smile every time I go to my utility company website and watch my daily consumptiom charts. It uses about 25% less electricity than the previous W&D combination we had.

We got this at Christmas time and a great deal, almost 45% off. I have a family of 5, all kids are in sports non-stop (dirty clothes constantly). This washing machine has so many options, I haven’t even tried them all yet. But my clothes come out so clean and fresh smelling. It uses less water than my top loader did. It may take a little longert but is more efficient in the long haul (a plus for me)!

When we purchased this washer, we had heard great things about the LG washers, but being the skeptical husband, I didn’t believe that a washer without an agitator that uses a small amount of water could really get my laundry as clean as my old top loader. After the first load, I was amazed at the results. After a few cycles, my laundry actually started looking fresher and “newer”. The machine looks solid! Opening and closing the door gives you that “well built” solid sound. I highly recommend this product!

We have been very happy with our purchase of around 6 months ago or so; however, even on the highest volume level the signal is WAY too low. This goes for the matching dryer/washer as well. If your machines are in a separate laundry room you will never hear when they are finished with just the typical household noises, TV, microwave, radio, etc. even with the door open. Although happy with the performance, if we had known this to be the case, we would have chosen a different set. It seems minor, but our clothes often sit in the washer or dryer for hours until you have that “Oh Shoot!” moment when you realize you had a load in, thus leaving your clothes very wrinkled. This small oversight is such an annoyance it makes laundry duties VERY frustrating. We now set a kitchen timer to help us remember which is ridiculous for as much as these cost. This is such an irritant that I would look elsewhere despite the good performance. They will pay for themselves in 18 months with our water bill reduction.

This washer and dryer set are incredible! This was my first front-loading washer, and I am more than pleased with my purchase. The functions on the washer are great. We really love the steam options, and the dryer does such a great job on getting rid of wrinkles that I haven’t ironed since we got the set. The anti-vibration technology really works. Our laundry room is directly off the kitchen, and we can have both washer and dryer running without much extra noise. I have two small children, two dogs, and my husband and I are very active people. Needless to say, I do my fair share of laundry and this washer and dryer just make it a joy instead of a chore! Well worth the price!

We bought this waher and dryer pair around Thanksgiving for 699 each. It turned out to be an incredible deal.
As for performance, the washer is super silent and doesn’t vibrate at all. Our clothes are noticeably cleaner too. The dryer does it’s job well and we like the steam option.
I recommend this pair especially if you can get them at our price or less!
