It serves it’s purpose, but we (family of 3) have to clean the dryer vent far more often with this dryer than our previous one. Before it would be once every 6 months, now it’s closer to once a month.
If you don’t clean it out, performance is severely impacted. FlowSense is helpful at telling when this happens, once you know what the LCD code is.

I purchased this item as part of a washer-dryer pair for a home with natural gas. It has performed well without interruption since it was installed. I selected this model which was on the top of Consumer Reports’ ratings for dryers. They have never misguided me but I purchased an extended warranty just to be on the safe side. The prices of laundry machines has skyrocketed in the past 10 yrs.

2 issues right off the bat. first there was a really bad odor coming from the inside of the dryer. i called LG, they scheduled a tech to come out and did not show up. they scheduled another tech and he said he didn’t know where the smell was coming from. he took the whole thing apart to look for a dead animal and couldn’t locate anything. also checked the vents, nothing.. he never reported this issue so when i called again and complained and asked for an exchange, they said no because there were no notes on it….. the second issue was it was rattling very badly, another tech said it was something with the gas line and he fastened some bolts after taking it apart… 2 issues within a few months of owning this unit… it’s been a year now and the rattling is coming back. of course it’s outside of return period and the warranty ran out. any future repairs will be out of pocket cost while they will be trying to sell you on a protection plan. buy this unit and you will be on beat street. i will be considering other brands moving forward, sorry not sorry LG!

What a nightmare it has been Owning this washer. My husband promoted it so much I got rid of my top loader to get a front loader. You would tell me how quiet they are you can heart be here working spinning any of that. So we purchased them in September and within 2 months we had to call the Geek Squad to come out because it was shaking uncontrollably and making a horrendous sound so loud you could hear it all the way across the house. This so the Geek Squad guy came out and said yeah he knew it it was hes gone order parts having delivered and then come back once they’re all here. A couple of days later I started getting deliveries of all these packages I think it totaled 6 or 7 boxes and it had something to do with the actual drum in the washer and the support things for it anyway turns out it was a $460 fix. So needless to say it was enough to a great start. As far as I was concerned they could go back. But we gave it a chance I could go on about the additional 6 calls we had to make and all the parts that had to be replaced, And then the dryer acted up I think we made a total of 5 calls on that basically I had to sell my house and I was All too happy to let them go even if it meant I was washer And dryerless. The last straw what is Geek Squad sent out the LG text and I have to tell you that was horrible the Tech showed up insulted me insulted my intelligence and within 5 minutes of being in my house I had to ask him to leave. The other Tech that came for the dryer asked me a couple of stupid questions and when I told him I put 5 dryer sheets he said oh you’re only supposed to put one that’s your problem and he was ready to pack up and leave so good luck to the new Owners. But since these up a year old yet I still look like my Money back on the warranty. The Geek Squad Tech did all he could do but his hands were tied we were trying to get them returned.

My wife and I love this dryer. We have the matching washer. It’s silent and very efficient. It holds a large load of laundry too. It’s a true workhorse!

The washer is great but the dryer just doesnt dry. You can adjust the dryness level but even at the higest setting closes are still damp. Its got all this great technogy but it just makes me mad that Samsung is so careless about the dryness sensor. Don’t get stuck with it. Buy somethibg else.
I also want to complain about the ease of use. Its not. They have a fancy looking controll pannel but its a lot of steps to manyally go in and select extra dry every time you start a cycle. Its not like the good old days with a mechanical knob where you set it once and forget it.
Also – its expensive. After trying the steam feature a couple times we dobt use it.
As for quality – its just a poor quality design.

I am very happy with the dryer and the features. I have had this dryer less than 2 years. When you open the dryer door, the opening that goes into the dry now has paint that is starting to peel. It is a white dryer and the paint feels like rubber in small pieces. You can now see areas of bare metal. It should be baked in enamel, but isn’t, and should not be doing this when it is less than 2 years old. I have a protection plan and will insist it be fixed with the amount of money I paid the washer/dryer set with pedestals.

This dryer is much slower than our previous one (a Kenmore). Even when set to “Very Dry,” clothes come out damp and require an extended time. The front panel is not illuminated and is difficult to see, even in good light.
