This refrigerator is complete garbage. In less than a year 5 service calls stemming from the fridge not making ice or shutting off completely causing ice to melt and food items to go bad. Stay far away from this fridge or make sure you have an extended warranty because you will need it,

Arrived with dents in the door, had to wait an extra 2 months for a replacement – but that’s not necessarily in LG, but worth mentioning related to the delivery. 13 months after purchasing the ice maker stopped working. Reached out to LG but they’ve been radio silent. For the price I’d expect much better. Even when working, the ice maker is quite slow and low capacity compared to our old fridge (KitchenAid, also an in door I’ve maker).

I like this refrigerator for the counter depth and the size. I did take one shelf out for taller items and think there could be more spaces added to the bottom to have more options for adjusting the shelf heights. I am still getting used to organizing the freezer drawer. It seems to keep my veggies fresh longer. Overall, I am happy with the refrigerator.

I love this refrigerator. The space in the freezer is much better than the side by side that we had. One of the reasons we bought this refrigerator was because it was rated highly by Consumer Reports, but the craft ice maker stopped working in the first two months. Best Buy handled the repair pretty quickly since the refrigerator was under warranty, and this seems to be a common issue.

I replaced my side by side with this amazing French Door. It’s like going from a Ford Pinto to a Porsche! It seems so much bigger to me because I can put large, wide items in it (a cookie sheet) and can organize the freezer compartment to hold so much more. Food seems fresher and there’s never any odor. The retractable shelf for tall items is definitely a selling feature which I use all the time. The door shelves hold so many items and my condiments are well organized. I have no use for craft ice and turned that feature off. I do brag to people about how much I love this refrigerator and I’m sure they must think I’m nuts!

Ok now that we’ve had this awhile: It’s EXCELLENT!
We got this almost 2 years ago, finally doing a review! Absolutely no problems and I hope I’m not jinxing it. 2 ice makers – both working beautifully. Large balls in lower, water and ice in door. So much room and still counter depth. In laws are in need so I’m going to buy another if this exact model, why change what’s working? Open area for large items, shelves/bins good quality, doors hold lots and well placed. Temps are easily adjustable and even throughout. Quiet operation – getting door ice is a little noisy but that’s a quick thing and normal. Internal water filter a breeze to change with indication when it’s due. Great lighting, easy to clean, holds a lot! We have no complaints- you will be happy, if not, the problem is not with the refrigerator. Doors and bottom freezer open effortlessly, nice non-annoying chime if doors are ajar. Well designed, did I mention we’re going to buy a second?

I absolutely love this refrigerator. The secondary ice maker in the freezer with craft ice is also special. Even though it is counter depth I have plenty of room. The only downside is the top has an extended lip that I can’t actually push my refrigerator in to make it a true counter depth but that’s minor. Very pleased.

The refrigerator is fine the issue is the craft ice maker DOES NOT WORK. The ice maker will work for about 9-15 months then it will start getting jammed the company will not do anything for you and there is currently a class action suit working it’s way through the courts. You can replace the ice maker for a couple hundred bucks but within months it will start doing the same. BestBuy and LG in my opinion should not be selling a product with a known deficiency like this. Also is someone manipulating the ratings because this is an issue with almost all of these ice makers

Do not buy an LG fridge if you want a reliable appliance. The compressor fan motor on our relatively new LG fridge broke less than two years after we purchased the new fridge (a “CF error”) and right before Thanksgiving. This broken fan motor is supposed to disperse heat from the cooling motor (compressor) on the back of the fridge. Once this fan stopped working, the fridge and freezer stopped cooling our food. Unfortunately, this happened the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, when we were supposed to host dinner.
I contacted LG support the next day (Wednesday) and they told me they wouldn’t be able to send out a technician for 8 days! I understand there were likely scheduling delays due to the holiday, but this was a huge convenience to be without a way to refrigerate our food for over a week! With the food rapidly warming in our LG fridge, and the threat of bacteria growing on our food by the minute, we had to throw away hundreds of dollars of newly purchased food that we had just stocked for our Thanksgiving dinner. We were lucky that none of our guests got food poisoning from eating bacteria-laden meat and cheese from our unreliable LG refrigerator.
To add insult to injury, the LG support told me this CF error code is only covered by their one-year warranty, so technically, this repair should not have been covered. Fortunately, LG decided to cover this “as a courtesy” for me, but it’s unbelievable that their fridges can’t last more than 2 years without breaking.
On top of that, the technician who finally fixed the fan motor said that LG knows the original fan motors are underpowered or aren’t as durable. He said LG has now been providing repair technicians with more durable/powerful fan motors because this is a frequent problem. This sounds to me like LG is aware that they made fridges with shoddy parts and now its customers are the ones who have to pay for it with spoiled food and risk of food poisoning.
Finally, one of the LG support reps I had originally spoken to for scheduling my repair said I should contact LG support again after my repair and request a form for food loss compensation. When I did this following the repair, the new rep told me: “I did check the account and upon checking your account is not eligible for food loss compensation.” How can they not compensate for food loss in this situation? The LG rep said he would escalate my concerns about the lack of food spoilage compensation to “upper management” but it’s been several days now and I’ve heard nothing from them. At this point, I’m not expecting much, which is why I’m writing this review as a warning to others who may be considering LG for their kitchen appliances.
In summary, LG sold me a fridge that lasted less than 2 years before breaking, they couldn’t send a repair technician for 8 days, all my food spoiled the week of Thanksgiving, and LG didn’t have the courtesy to compensate me for the hundreds of dollars worth of food spoilage.
I will never buy another LG kitchen appliance after this experience. My old GE fridge lasted for 10 years without this kind of issue. I’ve attached some photos of the error code on the display, as well as all the food we had to throw in the garbage due to LG’s unreliable LRFXC2416S refrigerator.

Absolute trash. After 1 year of owning this piece of **** and just slipping past the manufacturers warranty, my ice maker stopped working. I defrosted the refrigerator for 8 hours, then turned it back on and i am still getting th F1 E error code. So that most likely means that the fan motor is bad. I had a GE for 11 years and never had a single problem. I will never purchase another LG product. DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE!!

We purchased this same product from a retailer other than Best Buy, but we are so mad we are posting wherever it is sold. The ice makers, especially the craft ice maker will start giving you problems after approximately 1 year and the support people will tell you to unplug it and defrost it for 48 hours and “see if that helps”. This is a one-year-old fridge and shouldn’t be giving problems at all. Other reviews agree with ours and say if you repair the craft ice maker, you will have the same problems in the same short amount of time.

DO NOT BUY THIS (or anything from LG if you ask me)! If I could give it zero stars I would. Bought this fridge 2 years ago & have had to replace the fan TWICE now. It’s $430 through LG to replace – EACH TIME. The fridge looks nice enough & it was great while it worked. It’s made fine, but the actual functionality of the fridge is so poor. But the ice makers are absolute garbage & LG’s customer service makes me enraged. They do NOT care that you just spent $3,000 on a fridge that didn’t even last 2 years. They don’t tell you when they send someone out whether or not it’s covered under warranty, and then you get charged outrageous amounts of money to come fix their brand new product. GO with literally any other brand. Although, we switched from a Samsung & their ice maker wasn’t much better.
