    I left a prior negative review of one star based on playing a few songs that appeared to have a muddy low end. However after breaking in this sub and then testing our entire system from 20 Hz to 20K Hz using an online sine wave generator, I now conclude that this sub is truly outstanding. We have four 48 year old 5 element Kenwood speakers each with among other drivers a 15” woofer and a super tweeter to cover the extreme lows and highs. Yes they are old, but work very well within a 20×24 foot cathedral ceiling room in a surround sound setup. The only prior problem was our woofers were under powered from a 500 watt Yamaha RX-V620 receiver. This powered Klipsch sub really filled in the missing low end. BTW the sine wave test was great in evaluating the sensitivity of family members to different frequencies. As a 71 year old male I could hear from about 35 to 5.5K Hertz. The ladies low end sensitivity was not as good but my daughter could hear above 15K! This was expected given age differences and the size of our ear canals. Anyway you won’t go wrong with this beast of a sub.

    I added this sub into a 7.2 system. Had to dial back the volume on this one because it was pumping out way better than it’s mate and the one it replaced. Might have to upgrade the other sub now.

    Just amazing sound from this big box. Plug and play. Be aware that IT IS a big, heavy box, 14+ inches X. 400w. I can hardly turn up the volume on the back w/o making the windows and floors shake. Would need ear protection to turn the volume all the way up. Plenty of power to fund a small concert hall.

    Not a bad subwoofer speaker for under $300. I previously owned the Klipsch Reference Series 12″ 200W RMS subwoofer speaker. It sadly died suddenly after 8 years of home-theater use.
    Let’s see if this one lasts longer with twice the power.

    If you like good punchy bass, look no further! The cabinet is very clean looking, I appreciate the power LED which is noticeable if you look for it but not distracting. I have this sub paired with Klipsch speakers and a Yamaha receiver. I suggest setting the Low Pass setting on the sub to LFE and setting the crossover from your receiver whenever possible.

    Upper-end value subwoofer that performs above it’s price class. Not being a high fidelity audio geek, there’s no need to spend high fidelity money when this subwoofer produces quality bass surpassing my expectations. I’ve been surprised in some of the movies I watch over again to find there was low level bass I never knew was there, or wasn’t able to experience the first time watching. It got my attention with this subwoofer added to the speaker mix connected to a Yamaha 7.2 RX-V681 receiver. A pleasant subwoofer addition that lets me sleep at night knowing I didn’t break the bank to get it.

    I only gave this 4 stars because I am comparing it to the 1200 watt 12″ sub I used to have from Klipsch which it seems they no longer make. I have heard this unit clip on extreme musical transients, my old 1200 watt unit never clipped.
