    We replaced a 30 year old JenAir with this.

    It is a really nice cooktop. Installation was straight forward and rather easy with the included instructions. The burners heat quickly and evenly. The downdraft fan works well and is fairly quiet.

    The only downside is it scratches easily. We only found 3 brands with a 30 inch Downdraft and they all have the same complaint. Hard to knock a star for a common complaint among all brands.

    Cooktop looks and operates great. Even, consistent heat. Don’t be afraid to use razor blade on surface….it’s the only way you will get it clean and it won’t damage a thing !! Trust me :)). Nice, strong ventilation fan.

    This KitchenAid Cooktop replaces our old JennAir, and we were looking specifically for a cooktop that had a downdraft (DD) exhaust build into it. We loved the DD in our old JennAir and wanted to make sure a new one had it. Installation was easy as we were replacing the countertops in our kitchen and did not have to have a unit of the same size as our old one. Just had to realign the exhaust hole in the wall (cut a new one).
    The KitchenAid heats quickly, offers a variety of sizes with four burners and the multi-speed exhaust allows adjustment for the amount of exhaust needed.
    Cleaning is fairly easy but I would not recommend the use of an abrasives on the glass surface. Boil-overs or spills can be “scraped” off using a razor blade tool, like one for removing paint from windows, then soap and water.
    The build quality is very good and performance to date had been great.

    We’ve had this 5 months. It is beautiful, the downdraft works great- However…using only glass countertop cleansers and no abrasive sponges it has scratches and pock marks – the surface came off with the food splatters. Before I could report this, my husband was removing foil from a bottle of wine 2 inches above the stove, it dropped and shattered the glass. The serviceman just left and told us the damage should not have happened- it was bad- looked like a bottle was dropped from 2 feet up. He said he’s dropped wrenches and more on them without incident. Will see if the warrantee holds- kitchenaid told me no because we dropped something.

    I love my new cooktop. The burners heat quickly. You can cook at a lower temperature. The cleanup is easy and quick. It looks sleek and modern. My life just got easier.

    I am limited as to what I can use so this was my choice again a
    great cooking machine that is horrifically hard to mantaub

    I wanted to convert my cooktop to gas one initially but because if the cost to setup a gas line I started looking for electric one with downdraft. I came across this and I am happy with my decision. Installation was a bit hard as my countertop had exact measurements for this one but apart from that I am happy with my purchase.

    As soon as this cooktop installed and we started to use, underneath of each burner ceramic glass white bubble appeared and they didn’t go away. so every time I use this cooktop, I get more bubble showing underneath of glass. I called the best buy and they are trying to exchange it for me. when my son read some other people review, we found out that other customers had the same problems.
    I hope we won’t get the same issue with the new one that they are going to bring for us.

    Cooktop works just fine and heats up very quickly. However, the downdraft fan is a bit loud when running at the higher speeds. Overall, it seems to be a reliable cooktop for the time I’ve had it.

    The cook top works just fine. I do find it harder to clean than my last cooktop. It scratches much easier and even with the cleaner for a glass top cooktop it doesn’t come clean easily. Other than that it work fine.

    I am very happy with my KCED600 black Kitchen Aid cooktop.
    They guys who installed it were excellent. – Total Tech.
    My only wish is that the burner plate with the 2 options were on the front row. I’ll get used to it.

    So far the worst experience with bestbuy. The installation hasn’t been started as of Jan 14th while the cooktop was delivered four weeks ago. There was clearly a miscommunication between Best Buy and the third counterparty. It has not been resolved. The next installation date (the third scheduled one) is in a week so hopefully it could be done soon.

    Not a bad value for the money. The surface scratches VERY easily even with just a modern frying pan. I would recommend this stove based on one’s finances. We were limited on the size of the unit. Stove being used in a casita.

    It too long to be delivered. Need assembly and an extra electric box which not included!
    It does not seal well to countertop. It will collect dirt and grease which will need cleanup.

    This is a good cooktop, but it is one of only two downdraft options that are available on the market today. If other models were available, I would have chosen one without the large, shiny chrome buttons. Overall, I am happy with the end result, but I had to have the granite hole enlarged to accommodate the dimensions, which resulted in unwanted dust throughout the kitchen despite the best efforts of the installation team.

    Love the flat surface (my former cooktop has edges) – larger pans now fit. And it heats up so quickly! But heed the advice in the booklet — clean any spills immediately as it makes it much easier … and I’ve also purchased the cleaning product that KitchenAid recommends.

    This is a nice cooktop. Easy to clean. However, I had one just like this. Replaced after 1O years. Was still working but top cracked. Had a few chips on the corner too. I dont Cook often. So you may want to consider something else if do. Feel the top is fragile.

    A very simple, elegant design with easy to use knobs. Options for down-draft cooktops are slim but we’re glad we chose this model. Installation was super simple, with the exception of our need to slightly enlarge the opening in our granite countertop.

    The installation was rather sketchy. There was no measurement or prep made prior to delivery. The downdraft did not line up with the existing vent and installer was not prepared to connect it was left to the owner to buy parts at local hardware store to complete. The foam strips were not installed around countertop opening which would allow dirt and grease to enter. Cooktop was simply dropped onto opening. Electrical connection is exposed. Conduit from cooktop was spliced to plug using electrical connectors and taped. Was not run to junction box, nor was cable run to the box within the stove. This cannot be up to code not safe. Was the installer a licensed electrician?

    It fit perfectly but if you spill anything on the burners it is not easy to scrub off. It takes a lot of elbow grease to scrub and there is one spot that I still can’t scrub off.

    Good unit. Working great. Professional install. We had really bad luck trying to get a GE delivered. So we went with this one instead and glad we did.
