Not even one year and the ice maker had to be replaced and now the fridge died. Disappointed to say it mildly. Now tomorrow hopefully not a nightmare to get this fixed in a timely manner.

Ice Maker quit working and Best Buy won’t honor the warranty they committed to at point of purchase. Have had the refrigerator for less than a year (10 months) and the ice maker freezes up and quits making cubes. You might think that if you purchase from a reputable manufacturer and retailer that you will get good service. That would be wrong. Now that I am having problems with the product, they keep giving me phone numbers and I cannot even get a hold of a live person for assistance. Waiting on the manufacturer warranty service. Will see how that goes.

VERY FRUSTRATING experience with this refrigerator. I will preface this with the fact that I absolutely love the layout of this unit. It is my pride and glory of the kitchen. I am a social media influencer and constantly hear about how beautiful and functional this refrigerator is for family-friendly meal prep and snacking. And it absolutely is. IF it worked properly.
With that said–we invested in a very expensive refrigerator that has MAJOR issues with very unsatisfying resolutions thus far. From the start, the ice maker would never make more than one batch of ice at a time–no matter what we tried. Within 6 weeks of purchasing this unit, the back compartment froze up and it began making a loud buzzing sound and stopped cooling properly. It would bring the internal temperature to about 55 degrees only. We lost all of the food in our refrigerator and went through several rounds of lengthy wait-time phone calls, receipt transmissions and appointments. It took literally 3 MONTHS for the part to come in and the refrigerator to be fixed. I am a very patient person, but continued calls weekly grew more and more frustrating. Our hands were tied. No one could give us a better response. After repair (in excess of $700 but was covered by warranty), the refrigerator and ice machine then worked from October through May. Then the ice machine stopped producing…and now–THE SAME ISSUE is happening again within the refrigerator. We have exactly 20 days until the end of our 1 year warranty. All that can be done as per the customer service line is for a technician to again be sent out. We have again lost all the food, and I am very fearful for the longevity of such an expensive purchase. I should not spend $4000 on a refrigerator, only to have to buy a “back-up” one because of how unreliable it is.
Take it from this person who never writes bad reviews and absolutely fell in love with this refrigerator….this one is way to “iffy” and may cause more heartache than it’s worth.

The build quality of the unit is nice. The compartment on the door that you would think is for eggs does not hold a one dozen cartons as it is not wide enough. The finish is impressive and make our kitchen look really nice. It has a premium feel and so far has worked really well for our needs. We eat a lot of fresh produce and we have not had any issues with that. The freezer is adequate and the soft close is a nice touch. The doors have more than enough space to store things. My only complaint is the motor sound is noticeable. When it’s quiet in the morning and you pouring a cup of coffee you can here it. It does cut off from time to time but if you open the fridge it will come back on. I will use aurlex studio foam to fill the open space between the fridge and the cabinet to block the sound that stuff is excellent in deadening sound. Plus it’s a dark material so you won’t notice it’s there. Last, be sure to buy a 5 year warranty from kitchenaid as the parts are expensive and you never know what could happen in five years. Overall I am very happy with the purchase.

It’s gorgeous, but not as practical for a family. It does make noise that isn’t too bad. It has thrown out ice cubes a few times, but all fairness it seems that when it happens it’s one (so many it gets caught). In regards to keeping my food fresh it’s amazing. My fruits, herbs, and vegetables last forever.

I was so fed up with havign to get new Samsung every 2 years, I got me a kitchen aid, and I have always been a fan of kitchen aid for their quality. When it was delivered the delivery people said that the samsung they were removing was 1/3rd the weight of this kitchen aid, so, it is built well, really really well, it looks so beautiful. But it has 2 issues, compressor and ice maker and we have had both these issues, this was not to be expected from kitchen aid and that too at this price level.

Beautiful and functional. My only complaint is that you have to open both doors to access the interior drawers. I had a previous version of this refrigerator and each drawer was lined up so you didn’t have to open both doors. Very minor. Shelves are adjustable, the wood interior is beautiful. Spacious and high quality. Love it!

Beautiful refrigerator- both inside and out! The wood serving shelf and LED lighting make this the most elegant and dramatic fridge I’ve ever seen. Lots of storage options and flexibility for different types of food packages. Ice maker is fast and efficient. My only complaint is the price.

Very beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. It is the same size as my old LG but because of the well thought-out design, it actually holds more things. It’s also much quieter than our old frig and we love the tiny ice-cubes that it makes! The only negative so far is due to the installation team that came out to deliver it. They said they couldn’t install the shelves due to Covid reasons so we had to unpackage everything and figure out where all of the shelves went on our own. But that is a negative for the Best Buy installation team, not Kitchen-Aid.

Best fridge ever! Absolutely loved this fridge. We was the first year of this model and my only complaint was that the block kept freezing. The new model updated to avoid this but since we bought ours as a open box item, they returned ours at the cost we paid and I wasn’t purchasing this $4-5k fridge. We paid half that as open box so we bought and LG with that. Hands down our favorite fridge still. Great designed interior with a great layout and the gray/dark interior is much more gentle on the eyes and looks phenomenal.

Fridge looks great and that is about it……for a $4500 fridge, it performs poorly and as I am about to find out, cost a fortune to fix. The ice maker has never worked that great, now it doesn’t work at all. Repairman is saying it is not the icemaker but possible the motherboard (1 of 2) and if it is not that, then the compressor is bad. Meaning the whole fridge is an issue.

Bought this fridge in January 2017, moved into our brand new house in April, we were so happy to start fresh with this gorgeous fridge. Gorgeous is all it is. We’ve had all the issues a fridge can have:
– bottom of the fridge freezes and cause water to leak, and to fix it we need to completely turn off the fridge for a day or two
– inside screen stopped working
– handles have to be screwed in all the time
– ice machine broke and we had to have a technician fix it
Overall, we’ve had a technician come about 3 or 4 times in 5 years, until it just finally completely stopped working all together. The compressor is dead and unavailable in the US. The piece is under warranty but not the labor. The motherboards + new screen + compressor (free under warranty) + labor was about $2100. Are you kidding me?
The technician told us this fridge has issues and has about 5 motherboards in it, which he does not recommend at all.
We decided to call it quit and just bought a Samsung.
Good luck to you if you decide to buy this one.

After reading other reviews, it appears that this refrigerator has a known problem with defective a ice maker. A technician came out today and said that the whole panel needs to be replaced and it would be over $1,000! I’ve only had the refrigerator for abour 4-5 years, and it’s a very expensive, supposedly high-end product. The whole brain shouldn’t fail in that amount of time. Or maybe the tech doesn’t know how to troubleshoot and they just want to replace everything to make sure they get it right. I don’t know. Super upset and frustrated.

BEAUTIFUL refrigerator! Unfortunately the ice maker is HORRIBLE. First off, it’s TINY! Most importantly though, it had to be replaced twice in the first two years. Now, 3 years in and no more warranty, it’s broken again and leaking water out the front and inside the door. The ice it does make comes out in a solid block and won’t come out of the dispenser. $5000 for a lemon! Don’t be fooled by the wood and pretty interior. Waste of money.

We were down-sizing our fridge to fit the space better and match other appliances, so we went with this particular model that is a little more shallow than our last one but just a bit taller. It fits the space perfectly.
The aesthetics, both inside and out, are fabulous – exactly what you would expect from KitchenAid. I love the size of the ice this produces, but I wish it produced just a little bit more.
We have not had any mechanical/technical issues as of yet.
This is a gorgeous refrigerator but with a high sticker price.

We have received this product in 2017 and since 2020 It was leaking water underneath the drawer and back of the refrigerator. We have spent more than 800$ on a repair with an authorized Kitchen Aid repair company, and finally, they diagnosed the unit is not repairable. Now Kitchen Aid is asking us to pay an additional $3000 to exchange the unit. What a bummer! Never ever recommend this product to anyone.

Although it is a beautiful fridge, there are twoa few things I do not like about it. The first one is that it only has ONE light bulb in the freezer, so the freezer doesn’t have much light, if at all, which brings me to my second complaint – the placement of the bulb. The bulb is in a place where items in the freezer block the light, so if you have a full freezer there is no light. The third complaint is the space of the freezer. The freezer is not as deep as it appears when empty. Had I known of these issues, I would have reconsidered the purchase.

We purchased this unit 6 years ago. We should have known from the first day this was not a good unit. Soon after it was delivered, we had a leak coming from where the water filter is located. A repairman came out and said the unit needed to be completely replaced. This was literally the 1st week. We soon started having other small issues. Small parts that hold up shelves would break off. The light in the freezer doesn’t come on anymore. The manual says we should never have to replace it. And the switch is not frozen in place. The handles do not have any give so you have to be careful of stripping the small screws and having loose handles. The ice maker is probably the saddest thing. If you are having guests and need ice for drinks, go to the store and buy a bag. This thing makes enough ice for about 4 people. The ice maker also freezes up often requiring us to remove the container and undo any clogs. About 3 years in, the unit stopped cooling. Luckily we had a BBY protection plan and it was fixed. Recently, the unit stopped cooling again. Unfortunately this time, we do not have a BBY plan on it anymore. We had a repairman from KitchenAid come out to look at it. He said he would have to take the whole thing apart to run a test to determine where a leak was occurring. He estimated that the cost to get the unit up and running would be $1500. That was it for us. We decided to junk this unit and buy new appliances (yes we bought an entire matching set) of a different brand.
If you are thinking about buying this unit, don’t. Don’t be fooled by its good looks. It will just bring you frustration.
