A workhorse. Love this Compactor. I know that people don’t use these much anymore, but that’s because they can’t remember how useful they are.
BigChuck –
wanted this product so bad. it had to be returned, couldn’t install without having to butcher my cabinets. still recommend.
Kristin –
It’s a little on the loud side as others have noted, but it’s a few times a day for 10 seconds – not a big deal in my opinion. Everything else is great.
Frustrated –
Disappointed. Seems cheaply made compared to our old one.
Comes off the tracks a lot so itl
Ts hard to open and clise. We’re constanrly jiggeling it to get it back on track.
Gerg –
Have always enjoyed a trash masher and would not live without one
Mike –
Tremendous support at store and 3rd party delivery exceeded expectations.

This has just been installed one week and seems to be working very well.
McSixta –
Excellent. We’ll made. I’ll buy again. Let one lasted 15 years
RissyEM –
Beautiful and much quieter than my old compactor! Arrived earlier than projected which was a nice surprise and the Best Buy price was
$100+ lower than other providers in the area.
SatisfiedCustomer –
Like that it matches our kitchen, so far it’s working smoothly!
Nick –
Beautiful and much quieter than my old compactor. Arrived earlier than projected which was a nice surprise
Mack –
Really happy with this purchase. Old one broke and rather than get it fixed just replaced it. The brand is reputable so I didn’t think I could go wrong. I was right.

Love this trash compactor! Can’t go without having a trash compactor!
KitchenAid –
Love this Trash Compactor. Replaced a Kitchen Aid Compactor that broke 20 years ago. Bought the Dishwasher first and saw the TC look alike. Love both of them.
Very very pricey though. Worth it though.
Printerthatworks –
Finally got a new one. Other was 15 yrs old. This works great. BB installation was perfect and fast.
Adonis –
Worked like it should. Easy shopping at the Bestbuy outlet.
Thanks

Had a Kenmore before for 25 years. Kitchenaid is very expensive. I don’t know. It just seems more flimsy than the Kenmore. It doesn’t compact as much and the activator (footpad) is VERY flimsy like it would break easily. Doesn’t feel like the price of it. Don’t know if Whirlpool is any better as none of the stores have any inventory.

This KitchenAid trash compactor replaced a 20+ year whirlpool trash compactor that we had. This one is stainless steel and it really works great.
ElliottF –
Stainless stell finish doesn’t match the other appliances. Had to return it.
KellyR –
So far it has been great! It fit perfectly where our old one was.
suef –
We love it. KitchenAid makes a wonderful product.
Aggie –
Pretty much the current model for one we are replacing that is 25 years old! A few differences but pretty much the same. Decent compactor. It actually is louder than our old one but we will live with it. It is not a show stopper. I do think it is over priced.
Mrshullett –
Amount of our trash has gone way done. Love this trash compactor

Not a great unit. Clunky drawer. Seems cheap. Would never buy again.
RoyL –
Great appliance but pricey. Has good looking stainless facing.
CarolM –
Have had this for years. Just replaced old (30yrs)
.
RichardM –
Excellent compactor. Very easy to use & attractive.

When replacing our kitchen appliances we started with the Built-In Trash Compactor. Ironically, we were replacing an older KitchenAid model. What we didn’t know is there are only a handful of brands left that still manufacture trash compactors. We decided to go with the KitchenAid model as a brand-for-brand transfer seemed a wise move. While this new model looks great and performs well… it is not as efficient as the older model. We have had a few technical glitches with the compacting method (not always retracting until you run the recycle a second time). However, over all it is a good product. We had hoped for GREAT product based upon the price… but it goes nicely with the rest of our KitchenAid appliances.
SandraR –
Excellent compactor and a great fit into cabinet. Easy to use.
BobS –
The trash compactor ( Kitchen Aid) was delivered on schedule and the installation was very professional adjusting the old 18” space to the new 15” compactor.
SaxMD –
We bought this in May but just had it installed about a month ago due to availability and our schedule. We used a Best Buy installer who came as promised and did a good job. The compactor works well, although not quite as powerful as the much older one we replaced. Relatively quiet and seems to be well made.
lindarose –
Not quite sure it was installed 100% correctly. has more movement than I expected.
GracieM –
L love it❤️. So great to just have one trash bag a week!
DavidB –
Unit looks and works well. Must get use to pulling the handle while stepping on the pedal to open. Not quite as heavy as my last unit but does look better
CherylF –
We love our trash compactors, and wouldn’t be without one
BandKHappy –
Did not have it for more than a month and the drive chain broke. The replacement that was sent was broken upon arrival. These units are terrible. You would think Kitcheaid would have a better product.
ChelsaB –
So far so good. No complaints. Thank you best buy!

Trash compactors are hard to find. Best Buy had them on line. The one I purchased is a kitchen aid. I have enjoyed using it. The sales person was very nice to me and it was delivered when requested.
CraigN –
Delivery was late. Item was probably defect, but nobody knew. Now have to wait a month because Best Buy tan out.
KarenS –
Bought since my last one broke, which I had for 17 years, and loved. This one is not as well made and does not compact as well. The solid packed option does not seem to work. The foot pedal gets in the way of the door opening properly; a design flaw that Kitchen Aid needs to address.
VuD1 –
A very nice machine, worked great and a low price of an open box item

I wish I could give this product a great review, but i just can’t. I bought it to replace another KitchenAid unit that gave me 18 years of faithful service. However, this one stopped working properly after just 3 months. A few welds on the trash drawer have given way, and now the drawer won’t open and close properly. I wish that was the worst part, but i have been visited by two separate service companies that KitchenAid sent out. Both companies agree on the same issue, and both have told me they can’t get replacement parts. I contacted KitchenAid service with this problem, and it has been SILENCE. It’s as thought they simply do not care, and this is a $1,700 appliance. This may be the last KitcheAid product i ever buy. Very sad.

Our 3rd compactor. Weve tried 3 brands. Our first (old) one was by far the best, we replaced for astheteics and wish we didnt. The foot pedal doesnt work well. After less than 3 months it fell off. Doesn’t compact well unless in solid pack mode, but why? I alway want it compacted well.

We bought this product at the end of September and it did not work. The foot pedal did not release the trash door and the compactor “sometimes: work. I called Kitchenaid the day it was delivered for a fix. They sent out a technician ..3 weeks later and he couldn’t fix the problem. I called Kitchenaid again and they resent a technician. Again no fix but was going to order a new part. The scheduled repair, another 3 weeks later was also cancelled since the repairer haven’t received the part. So I’m now 9 weeks past installation and the unit is still useless.
LeonidR –
Immediately after installing it I noticed that pressing the foot pedal hardly opens the front door. The store sent a replacement unit, but it had the same problem. Installers mentioned that other customers had similar issuers. I expected better from the $1700 appliance.
MarkC –
Item was defective. I had to reorder a new one and hopefully it will work properly
DeloresK –
Awesome! Has saved so many trips to the garbage bin outside. Not as quiet as I thought it would be but it is still very acceptable. Advice: When buying a trash compactor–don’t go cheap. Highly recommend this Kitchen Aid
LouiseS –
It quit before a month was up. Had to get in a repairman already.
Shell55 –
We replaced a 20 year old kitchen aid compactor when it finally wore our. The new compactor works as it should. It was easy to install and updates the look of our kitchen. I hope it lasts as long as the last one did. So far, we are happy with our purchase.
JohnhB –
This is our second trash compactor. Our first one lasted 23 years. It was made by another manufacturer, and no longer made. I did not realize how much I would miss having one until it stopped working. We purchased this particular model because it was the only one I could find that has “extra compact mode“ I’m not sure why you would want a trash compactor that does not have this feature. True this apparently makes the trash compactor more expensive, but well worth the money. We simply uncrated carried it inside, pulled out the old unit, plugged it in and pushed it in under the counter. Probably the easiest appliance installation job ever. The filter feature works well but we really don’t use it since I basically washed out any food residue before placing in the trash bin I mean we do only take the trash out every 5 to 6 days. The stainless steel looks great and I would recommend this to anyone especially if you have children .
