The subwoofer is reliable and does not need much power. Frequency control from the head unit makes the deep lows very well. The voice coil does get hot at times when maxing out the volume/power.

I’ve been an car audio Audiophile for almost 40 yrs. Can’t beat this subwoofer for the money. I bought it to use while until I had the chance to replace the cone on the worn out subwoofer. I couldn’t believe how well it sounded on all types of music. The sub it replaced was 5 times the price. I put it in a 1.8 cu.ft. Sealed enclosure. Sounded great. Im sure I’m a ported box it would definitely meet the needs of someone who wants more boom but that’s not what I’m into. Quality sound over quantity.

Kicker comp c suboofer open box are good for pricing but mind came bent around the basket now it won’t mount flush to the subwoofer box port ,no way of repairing the basket were its bent its bent pretty bad i decided just to keep the subwoofer and just try to ask for an replacement for the ruined one best buy sent me the first subwoofer kicker i bought from them was in fair condition but i would like an replacement for the second one that i purchased. Not giving up on best buy will definitely buy from them very soon but next could you not send me a subwoofer with an bent basket please.
