It records but low quality unless you Bluetooth to your phone. Bluetooth does not connect automatically. You must set it up each time you start the car. Not bad just not convenient.
jeijei –
Straightforward easy set up, hi definition footage very clear and screen is bright. I love it.

Got to give this 1 star because the Kenwood Dash Cam Manager app is NOT compatible with newer android phones and can’t be downloaded. Then when i tried to go to Kenwoods customer service chat, they actually want to charge you to talk to anyone about it even on a chat online. Will be returning this today and just bought it yesterday. Work of wisdom, make sure you phone is compatible with any apps you have to download for any dask cam.
Strang83 –
Bought this for a road trip to SD. Worked as expected. There are a few cons, if you are taking a long trip the memory card only last for around 3 hours of recording time and you have to format it every 3 hours. The bluetooth options was a pain in the butt to use also

This is my first it looks ok but not 1080p more like grainy 720p but I’m ok with it I can see everything clearly day or night recordings got it on sale for $100 easy to install the window mount is very secure
AndreC –
Great item, does move around a little bit. During the night kind of hard to see due to led lights everywhere. Great picture, easy to use, and straight forward
FernandoR –

First, and most all this doesn’t work like it states it does for one you have to keep it plugged in, even though it charges as I was told at the store that you can charge it up and just use it without it having a dangling cable second of all the picture seems glossy it seems I must’ve bought a open box item because neither the cable fit and the representative who assisted me with it when I ordered it online to pick up in the store stated that that was the only one left now that I’m trying to return it because obviously it’s not fulfilling my needs and it does not work. They are telling me that I can no longer return it because The return window has closed

Great camera. It save me money, when a police gave a ticket and I was right.
DougMD –
Seems to work well but was disappointed in the user manual. Many functions and operations setup left unexplained. Including part identification and definitions. I could write a better manual just as a casual user.
ChadL –
video quality is subpar and menu isn’t the easiest to use. We ultimately returned this and went with the Garmin which had more features.
RobinB –
Great video. Has a nice wide view. Very easy to mount and use.

Had a car accident happen 10 feet in front of me one morning and it was the last straw. I needed a dashcam. Picked this one up on Open box and the only bad thing i can say about this cam, the parking sensor is very sensitive. Ive had it go off and record for 30 seconds of a leaf falling. But other that that its been excellent.
CintyaV –
Very helpfull in case of an emergency. Small practicle love it.. thinking of getting another one..

Decent for the money. Does the job, app is decent. Not very intuitive, but the basics are there

Hard to know how to rate this. I have found these are delicate devices. I am now on my 3rd one in less than a year that dropped and no longer worksand can’t be fixed. When it is working, it is great. It is easy to set up. Just don’t drop it. Not sure I will be buying a 4th, but I feel so vulnerable without it. There are so many insane drivers out there.
RichardG –
Great product. Works well for people who are always on the road

Easy to use and reliable. It’s vital to have a dash cam. I’ve had experience with purchasing a lot of dash cams, and they’ve all been proven to be worthless. Kenwood is known for quality electronics. The camera is simple to use and designed very well.
This product did not disappoint.
Alcon76 –

This thing is so janky. Not recommended. Something from the 1990s.

I recently purchased a dash cam from Best Buy, and it’s exceeded all expectations. The sleek design seamlessly integrates into my car, offering discreet yet powerful performance. The video quality is outstanding, capturing clear details even in low light conditions. The wide-angle lens provides comprehensive coverage, ensuring nothing escapes its lens. Setting it up was a breeze, and the intuitive controls make operation effortless. Additionally, the built-in features like loop recording and G-sensor add an extra layer of convenience and security. Overall, this Best Buy dash cam is a reliable, high-performing addition to my vehicle, offering peace of mind on the road.

Excellent dash cam. I bought two KENWOOD CDR-A301W and works very well. This can have everything of the expensive cam and more advantage than the most recently or new others dash cams. This KENWOOD is great and amazing cam. Thank you for read.

great dash cam for the money. Easy setup and operation. A dash cam is a must and can save you a lot of time and money if you are ever in a situation with another vehicle or accident that you need to prove was not your fault.

Great video quality. This was an upgrade for my previous dash camera because i wanted better video quality. This cam is much better and easier to use.
SuzyG –
Great auto cameras and are very affordable. The display is a little small so need to download the app for better viewing.
CaryR –
This is a great dash camera. It is an amazing camera and a easy and great replacement for my previous one.
Patrick –
This is my third dash cam. Out of the three, this one is my favorite. Instead of a slide-off design, it has a magnetic contact so it is easy to remove from the windshield without upsetting the suction cup. Can plug into USB or 12-volt. Unit is pretty solid, not a bad purchase. After being rear-ended in a car accident a couple of years ago by a drunk attorney, I realized the value of having one when the first question my attorney asked was if I had a dash cam. Never drive without one, take it from someone who learned the hard way.
Eddie –
Awesome little camera. Pretty wide view and good wuality image.

So I had been wanting a dash cam just to have that peace of mind of should something happen, I have video proof of exact events since not everyone is a standup individual who will say they messed up and caused whatever. Here are the good points. This camera is pretty easy to setup and I had no issue with the app or getting it to connect, which gives you a live view (with some slight lag) which really helps to aim the cam if it’s behind the mirror and you can’t really see the screen well. The screen auto shuts off after a duration to avoid it getting too hot, or being distracting but still has a status light so you can tell it is on. The picture looks pretty good for being just 1080. Night quality is “eh” but I’ve yet to see a dash cam that has a great picture in low light so I won’t bash it too much. The cord is plenty long enough to tuck above the head liner, down the A pillar, and through the dash to get to wherever your 12V is. Now here are some of the downsides I’ve noticed. It has a “magnetic quick release” mount, but it still clicks into spot so if you do remove it using this feature be ready to constanly try to re aim the camera since it will require some force to remove and insert. It advertises having a super capacitor, but the only functionality it provides is finishing saving the current file when power is lost. The instructions that come packaged with it are very lacking, honestly I think the receipt from buying it had more writing in it. It has a parking mode, but it isn’t very clear on how it functions, and also requires the hardwire kit (more on that in a bit.) I can’t exactly tell how it functions, but be ready to have a bunch of protected videos of when you start driving if it’s on. It also has a G sensor to automatically protects files it thinks might be of an accident, which is great, if you live somewhere that has all roads smooth as glass. Even on it’s lowest setting any set of train tracks, curbs, or any bump in the road seemingly will trigger it, and thats on it’s lowest setting. It does come with a small micro sd card to get you started, though being only 16 Gig so it fills up fast. Now the hardwire kit. Unlike most kits that require you to get power from an always on source and a ignition switched source, it only wants an always on source, so it just makes the camera always on, which I can do already since in my vehicle the 12v outlet is always on. That also brings me to my next point, I wish companies would stop putting lights on their power plugs. I don’t need a bright light to let me know it’s working, the device has its own light so it’s redundant and wastes power. Despite the short comings, it still provides the functionality plus has gps info and records audio, and at the under $100 price it’s not breaking the bank and will give you at least a copy of an event for proof. If your looking for a fully automated experience with parking mode and g sensors I’d recommend something else, but if you just something to give yourself evidence then this isn’t a bad choice for a front only system.

Front connection does not work. Video not that clear.
SeanM –
Gift for dad he loves it and says it works amazing for what he needs
racer1511 –
It works very good. It is a entry level camera but does work well.
MarkM –
This dash cam was really easy to set up and get working.
RebeccaF –
This dashcam is small but mighty It works so wonderfully give you the extra security if ever in am accident to let the police see the accident in real time. We have them in all of our automobiles.
MJohnson –
Best one I’ve owned. I’ve gone through dozens of cameras over the years and the Kenwood is the best so far. I own two and you almost never get errors. Video quality is very good during the day and so so at night.
AnneP –
Just what I needed for the car I have. Easy to set up
