It has improved the sound of my stereo system tremendously.
KellyJune –
Thought it would sound better. Gave it a little extra kick.
Montecarlo1987ALEE –
Worked great in 1965 c20 pick up truck. Now we bump and bounce.

2018 Double Cab Tacoma.
This does not compete with my 12″ Rockford in a Belva 1.8cbu ported box….obviously. HOWEVER I was pleasantly surprised at the performance this can throw out. Install fits nicely under my driver seat. And if you don’t know Tacoma seats are LOW. I wish I could easily access the output to try and match the voltage going to the sub. But the adjustments that are on it allow you to tune by ear essentially to a good level. It has an overcurrent protection so you can’t go balls to the wall and blow it apart. Thumbs up for that. I have 2 6×9, 2 6.5′ and kicker tweeters form a 2020 Subaru STI (Tacoma thing). Powered by a Sony XG amp. And a Sony headunit. Makes a wonderful addition to my sound system.
Bottom line if you want window breaking bass keep looking. BUT if you want decent bass that fills the gap your stock or aftermarket 3 ways are lacking in a small car or truck id give this a shot.

AWESOME little subwoofer fit great in 2004 dodge Dakota quad cab sounds great in truck with windows up or Down .

This is a underwear subwoofer that I have mounted in the trunk space of a BMW x4 right behind the 2nd row seats. It doesn’t sound like I have a 12 but it does sound too good to be true from its size. My vehicle has the upgraded Harmon/Kardon sound system and this sub adds very much to the over all sounds and sounds like it’s from the factory. Very impressed
Loamwolf –
Great sound for a small sub. Glad i waited for it to be on sale.
CherryT –
Too expensive. Especially for an open box. I returned it

I have an acura ilx. It doesn’t come with great speakers and didn’t have a sub too! I did upgrade my front door speakers with the JBL GX628 which helped improve the sound and the bass but it was still lacking the oomf that we all want. Honestly, this subwoofer does the job. Is it comparable to a 2k system, no, but for what it does honestly I’m satisfied. Clean bass, not muddy and not too harsh too! It made me a happy customer and I’d recommend it for anyone who has a car and doesn’t have a fancy speaker system. It’s really great
Steveoh –
Not bad. But not great. Buyer beware it does not fit comfortably under seats of Equinox. Had to have it installed in cargo area of 2018 Chevy Equinox. Very disappointed as this was the reason i bought it.
Tanner –
Great product, installed it in my truck with the total tech support.
Sacb –
For the money…and simplicity….hard to beat. Installed in a ford ranger, only problem was we couldn’t fit under seat. Still, sounds great for a small cab.
Tonyc –
This brings my stereo to life! I installed this in a very small car and didn’t want to have to take up a lot of room with a sub and amp. This works great.
2wheelnut –
Very easy to install in a UX250H under the trunk floor near the battery with the proper posi-taps. Had to run to the front speakers due to the rears being frequency cut from the factory.
Boomy if not tuned properly but once tuned the sound coming from this little guy is great. Fills out the bottom end nicely, the car already has a good soundstage and punchy mids from the factory, it was just missing this sub.
TundraChris2001 –
The perfect solution for my truck!! It fit right under my seat and adds just enough bass to make my music sound like I’m at a concert.
ScoopedMids –
After running my power wire, ground wire, and remote wire, this subwoofer did not turn on. The led power indicator flickered a couple times, but that’s it.
I realize a bad unit can happen occasionally. JBL has authorized a replacement and I’m waiting for my warranty replacement.
I’m looking forward to hearing what this sub can do…after I receive a working unit. I appreciate JBL honoring their warrantee, although I’m waiting on the replacement.
BBOHIO –
Easy to install and provided a noticeable improvement to filling out the low bass sound that my system was lacking
Fkoff –
Perfect speaker and the perfect price. Doesn’t shake the license plate but who wants that crap anyway lol. Just the right amount of punch for under the seat.
Rafayaslam –
This is the best decision of my life lot more bass than I expected yes it wouldn’t rattle your car but good point is it’s under seat inside your cabin so you don’t have to raise volume to feel the bass no more trouble buying separate amp
I have have focal 6.5 components powered with alpine kttp455u and adding this sub took my system to next level !
Kewldude47 –
I put 2 of these in my Scion xB and they sound great. They take up minimal room and the installation was great that I got from Geek Squad. Overall really good experience.
JBLChris –
An awesome product I have one of this under each car seat and the bass sounds amazing
MelK75 –
Good sound, but you won’t get super sound. I used two and have better sound now. Barely fit under my Jeep seats but was doable.
Sparky –
This JBL subwoofer is very well built with plenty of adjustments. Keep in mind that it may not fit under your seat and it really will not replace a dedicated subwoofer box with a high powered amp. I needed to still have a usable trunk in my Mustang GT convertible and the solution was to create a small port to have some of the woofer inside the boot area. I don;t need a big booming bass box, just some bottom end to fill in on some songs and send some waves to be felt in my seat. This also allowed the installer to adjust cutoffs for the interior JBL speakers because some songs were really pushing those speakers too hard with distortion. Now the Sony/JBL system plays much louder and distortion free with the top down and I can hear more bass details on many songs. RCA inputs and very adjustable . Get a qulaity amp install kit because the power is going to the battery and you don’t want hum, noise or issues .

I wanted to like this sub, I really did! Unless you’re playing a song that has a significant amount of base to it, this sub does not work. I have a tundra crew Max, it has very limited space. I needed something that would be able to fit in small places.I will give JBL credit, you definitely can fit in smaller areas.
It does not have the power on most songs to make that much of a difference. You really have to search out the songs I went on the JBL website and could not find the SL pro, it appears as though they stopped making it… I understand why. If you are looking for something that gives you a TINY bit more bass this for you. That’s it, it barely adds anything. Not sure where all the reviews came from..but I’ll be paying for another system to be added.
TechDad –
Great product to add bass to your stock or aftermarket stereo system. It fits perfectly under the front seat in my mini-truck and adds the bass I so desperately needed. You will need an amp installation kit and you’re ready to go!
MilesBeyond –
Got this on sale- $180 bucks! Sounds pretty good, but what do I know… it’s my first sub. Looked at a lot of “how to” things online before and after the install. My deal is, I have a Kenwood dash unit w/EQ, imported CDs in phone using Poweramp’s EQ – the BASSPRO with it’s various adjustments. A work in progress…
Matt –
Mk…build quality and sound quality are good. But if you’re looking to upgrade your system to bump and thump LOOK ELSWHERE. This little guy as well as any under the seat/hideaway subwoofer will NOT put out enough volume to even be noticeable in the least unless you have a small old truck with no bass. Do t get this with anything higher than low expectations. Don’t get me wrong it’s well built and is alright, but it’s no upgrade.
Great –
This is a great subwoofer and the perfect size for my truck.
Luzi4r –
Slumps , bass is definitely present after installing this.
geterdone –
this little unit was so easy to set up great sound looking into getting another one for my second car
msnowzilla –
This sub has great sound. Perfect size to fit hidden under the back seat and adjustable bass control.
Frustrating –
The bass is great for average people who loves to hear music just fine.
Naescire –
It’s ok. It works as it should. Sound is ok. Fits behind the seat in my F150. Kinda hollow bass.
Cheese –
I want to preserve my hearing when I’m older, but I also want to enjoy deep bass when listening to Hootie & The Blowfish on the highway. This subwoofer does it all. Hides away nicely in my Jeep Gladiator, nice features to modify the amount of bass/tone. Highly recommend.
Jeeptrailhawk –
I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk with cooled seats and it would not fit under the driver or passenger seat
Joselsanchez –
It’s a concealed speaker and doesn’t need much to connect to a vehicle
BillP –
Good additional or supplemental speaker. Easy to add to existing sound system
GermanM –
sounds is good for what it is but don’t expect DEEP bass from this thing.
Chuck –
More power than I expected. Sounds great. Nice deep sound
user394284 –
I bought this item black Friday, $100 discount, but the catch was open box they don’t disclose that.
1aerageguy –
Sounds good with out amp needed. Like thst it fit under the front seat.
JeffinFL –
I have a Tacoma, so I have very limited space for a sub and amp. There are expensive, somewhat custom solutions out there (think JL Audio stealth box at $1000+), so this is a much less expensive option. I chose this option for the Kicker “stealth” option mostly because I was also putting in a full set of JBL speakers in the truck also. I also got a great deal on the unit on Black Friday, and with TotalTech, everything gets installed free.
This little unit puts out a surprisingly good amount of bass. I thought I would need a second unit, but I won’t. If you want a to just add a solid good bass to your system, this will work great. If you want a whole lot of thump, then get two.
When I say this thing is small, it is SMALL. It will easily fit under a seat. In my Tacoma, I had it installed in the small storage area behind one of the rear seats, and the small tub and the back of the truck help amplify the bass.
One note: if the installer or someone tries to convince you to NOT install the remote bass knob, IGNORE THEM. You want the remote installed. I took their advice, and now I have to go back and have them put it in. The bass is too much if you have the car stereo turned way down; it still thumps away.
ClarkP –
Man this sub woofs! Most might be dismissed by the woofer being 8″, don’t let it fool you. It puts out so much power and clarity in the low end. I love it, so worth it without sacrificing space in your car
JacobS –
Bought two, had to return them both because they didn’t work. Got a new one and it works perfectly. Great product if you can get one that isn’t a dud…
NickP –
Very minimal bass. Purchased with JBL 628 speakers and the speakers have nearly as much bass as this sub. The stock subwoofer in my Acura TSX had way more bass and would shake the seats and rearview mirror, this sub is not even noticeable I will be returning.
JacobiS –
For the size and the price it’s a good buy with hood bass.
Njm1292 –
Thought it would hit harder but it still sounds descent
StephenB –
Best price on the Internet, these speakers are awesome!
AndrewN –
Very impressed with quality of base
And size fittment
RicardoM –
great quality, there is no sound distortion. compact and easy to install
