I initially bought the I7 11700k for my build. I have a 9 year old who all of a sudden became very interested in computer gaming and needless to say I needed to build another rig if I ever planned on using my computer again. I ended up going with an upgrade on the CPU and went for this chip. So far I haven’t had any issues I haven’t really noticed much of a change but I also haven’t put it through it’s paces yet either. I’m currently running it on an Asus z-590e with 64gb of ddr4 3600, and a EVGA rtx 3060ti.

Solid 11th gen intel chip that allows me to use all features of that generation. It cools fine with Noctua U12S.

Definitely not the best Intel CPU, especially for the price. Worked well when paired with a 240mm AIO but I hear about lots of heat issues with any less of a cooler, or if the CPU isn’t underclocked.

People need to keep in mind that this is a K series. You over clock it but only if your motherboard allows for it.

If you are looking for a good LGA 1200 processor, look no further. Despite negative reviews at launch and even to this day, this processor is a solid choice for gamers. I play AAA games such as MWII and average 125 FPS, which isn’t a high end FPS count, but adequate for a casual gamer.
The chip idles at 25-29 C and 65-75 when playing games and using multiple programs.
Overall solid chip.

This upgrade was well worth the money. Once I upgraded my GPU to RTX-3080ti FTW3 Ultra I thought the i3 was a bottleneck. After upgrading to the I9-900k I’m seeing gaming frame rate increases of 40-55 frames or more. Solid gen 11 cpu even with 8 cores and a great price from Best Buy.

Great CPU. This CPU is an upgrade from the i7-11700K for me. Bought this at a great price since Best Buy Priced matched it from Amazon for me!! Saved over $200. Not much of an upgrade i realize but this CPU is no longer being made and wanted to make sure i had a spare just in case =).
