Every time I tried to find an OEM laptop charger, I gave up the search and decided to get the plug-and-play charger that automated the correct setting. Once, it turned out that I did find one for my daughter’s laptop like a month later and it was well over half the cost of a universal charger. If time is on your side, well… Then the OEM distributed charger is meant to be. My case, I really need to get something working in a day or three.
Happily so, the Insignia™ – Universal 65W Laptop Charger – Black – is a lot of overkill. BUT, some of the extra could become handy! So, the power is one of the extras and it’s there to be had when desirable (65W.) My laptop is not so hungry and doesn’t use it. If I need to charge while I use the laptop, The battery would easily charge even then. If I use this charger for some power-hungry system, there is 65 Watts. So worst case, the battery would charge while I wasn’t using the system? I think so.
I didn’t need a gender change because the center was natively of correct polarity for my HP laptop. I can’t remember. Since I always test polarity… that would have been reason to notice absence of a reverse polarity adapter.
A chart to identify which adapter to match my system and other supplied adapters was on a small slip of paper. I am convinced that I will never need about seven of them. Ever.
Another extra is that my final batch of teens (both of which have needed to replace a lost charger for EVERY single technology they own HAVE needed a replacement charger as well as eight or sixteen data/charging cables.) I think this is the same Universal Laptop charger I purchased for my youngest daughter. How did I lose a laptop charger? I loaned my original to one of them and you guessed?–must have evaporated and never made it back.

This charger works great. It was purchased to replace a cheaper one that we had bought online that only lasted less than six months. This seems to be a much better quality and it should last the duration of the computer.

none of the attachments worked for my ASUS laptop and now nothing will charge my laptop. I was told this “universal” charger may have broken my charging circuit. Now I have to take it into shop to have it evaluated!! how much will it cost, not sure yet. But when I called 800 # they said they would find the right attachment and mail to me and email me. I HAVE NOT REC”D ANYTHING YET and the window return is over. THANKS ALOT BEST BUY!

It’s ok, works in a pinch but I still need to buy a new one directly from Samsung. It doesn’t fit in the hole snugly so it will only charge if the cord is at an exact angle that supports it.

I lost the original AC cord to my HP laptop and hesitated to buy a universal one, but since the original HP was no longer available, I bought the Insignia and found it to be just as good as the original. It doesn’t run hot like the cheap ones you can purchase on Amazon and supplies the proper wattage for my laptop. It’s a great charger and I’m glad I bought it. No regrets.

The charger was perfectly fine, it just didn’t have the USB-C laptop charger that I needed. For my Lenovo laptop. But the cashier at the time looked up the the kind of charger I needed and realized they didn’t have it, and offered me her own personal charger seeing I was distraught after going store to store. That was the greatest experience I’ve ever had in any store ever.

Stay away!! I would give negative stars if I could. I verified twice that this was compatible with my Lenovo IdeaPad. I used it for less than a day and the tip separated IN my laptop. My laptop is now unusable as part of it is STUCK in my charging port. This wasn’t a cheap charger. At $60, I expect a quality charger. I can’t believe Best Buy is selling this junk. Now I’m out the cost of the charger AND have to pay a few hundred dollars to have the laptop fixed. Learn from my expensive mistake.
