    I work from home and typically take my laptop along with me to other places and when traveling. The Insignia case is a great option for a lightweight protective case that still helps prevent scratches or dents. This case is easy to put on, it simply snaps into places. There are also vent holes in the bottom so your laptop won’t overheat as well as four grips to elevate it. This is a great option for an everyday case or if you travel frequently and want to prevent minor scratches.

    This case is excellent. It is lightweight, doesn’t add a lot of bulk, and the clearness allows for a fun look. My biggest complain about the unit is how easy it smudges. I have used it for more than a week and have it gets smudges within hours of use. The smudges clean easily, but can be a nuisance.

    After using the Insignia MacBook Air hardshell case for about 5 days I can honestly recommend it without any doubt. One thing to note is the case is clear, but it is not crystal clear. The case is a frosted clear. The case fits snug to the MacBook and provides excellent protection. I love how the grips at the bottom of the case prevents your MacBook from sliding around. After using the case for a week I can say I would and will purchase another case. The only negative thing that I can say is the description should say frosted clear case instead of just clear. The case gives the Space Grey MacBook Air a really nice look and it is a very modern appearance. Do yourself a favor and get one!

    The Insignia Macbook Air clear case seemed like an affordable way to add protection to my Wife’s M1 Macbook. The frosted clear case softens the color more than expected but fortunately doesn’t fully obscure the color of the Mac. I personally do not care for the white rubber feet (would have preferred black) but being on the bottom of the device it isn’t that noticeable. The case snapped on with ease and initially I was pleased with the look albeit not as nice as no case at all.
    Unfortunately that faded quickly as I noticed a few days later there was shiny or oily areas where maybe the case was handled. Since they did not clean off with a microfiber cloth and warm water I thought maybe they were under the case. Having used Speck cases on my Macbooks years ago, I figured I would just remove the case to clean it thoroughly. This case was more difficult to remove than anticipated and the corner snapped easily when I attempted to pull it off. Though it seemed like a nice cost effective option, I would look into another case that maybe is easier to remove if required.

    The Insignia Hardshell Case is a good overall case for the MacBook Air. The clear version that I have lets you still show off the color of your MacBook. Unfortunately, MacBook’s no longer have the backlit Apple logo that would have been cool. The case is perfectly cut to match all the ports on the MacBook. It is in two pieces and snaps on tightly to the MacBook. I don’t want to necessarily drop my notebook on purpose to test it’s ability, so I can’t speak on that. The biggest issue that I have with this Insignia Hardshell Case is that it is really slick, no texture at all. Just slick plastic that seems kind of unsafe when handling the notebook. This could be a good or bad thing. On one hand, it is smooth and slick, and really looks great. On the other hand, the slickness of the Insignia Notebook Case makes it really hard to maintain a grip on the MacBook. I never dropped mine, so I only removed one star for this. Other than that, this is an excellent case! A great alternative to Apple cases.

    I’ve been using it for the last few days and I think it looks sturdy and very protective of the exterior of my 2020 M1 Macbook Air. It fits perfectly. I am not concerned whether the display latch will break, but I’m worried that the plastic latches around the display will cause too much pressure and break the screen at some point. I don’t know that. For my daily use, it did not cause overheating. However, since this is a plastic wrap on your metal device, it’ll definitely reduce the heat dissipation and cause more heat to be stored on your device which may lead to lower performance if it heats up too much. I purchased it for $20, so I think it’s a great value.

    I have had this case for about a year now and it has protected my MacBook Air M1 well from several bumps and falls. The bottom shell has stayed intact without any visible damage, but three of the corners on the top shell cover have cracked over time and one of them has partially broken off. It would be nice if this case was sturdier so it wouldn’t crack or have pieces break off, but it has done its job with my kids occasionally banging and dropping it when they used it.

    the case is protective for sure but it picks up any fingerprints, don’t put on any oils or lotions on your skin if you plan on using your Macbook. very frustrating, and it doesn’t wipe off easily

    Works as a good protector. But I can see why it was half off. The frosted color came off in spots where now it looks like it’s dirty or something is on it. But overall fine with it since I only paid $15 and just needed something to protect my MacBook.

    This case provides excellent protection for the Macbook. The only issue I have with the case is that it smudges easily and it adds a considerable amount of weight to the laptop. The protection it provides is good.

    The case shows finger prints and looks terrible. The edges cracked after 4 weeks without even a drop so it seems like it was from stress?

    It was cheaper than other cases and probably would help with nicks and dings.

    I’ve only had this for a couple of weeks and the bottom clips already started cracking, I guess from the stress of being clipped on or off. It’s really snug so it’s hard to get on and off without adding extra pressure. The other reviews are right about the fingerprints but I don’t really care about that. I’m more upset about the chipped corners.

    The MacBook cover was bad quality. It first leaves the fingerprints on the cover when you touch it and it doesn’t come off. Also it breaks very easily, like just placing it down will break it. Do not waste your money and just buy a better cover
