    Just picked this up today, on my way home from work. It looked like a good alternative to the more expensive Meta offering. What initially drew me to this was the soft foam padding that comes with it. I was able to open the box in the store and have a look and it looked super comfortable. While it is comfortable (more so then the one that comes stock with the headset), it does have 3 drawbacks that might make others reconsider this purchase.

    For starters, and this is will be a BIG one for those who wear glasses, is usage with the spacer that Meta includes with the unit. It will NOT work with the spacer, or t least mine did not. The included nose piece seems to get in the way, and while it can be removed, this will also let in a lot of light at the bottom by your nose. This seems like a pretty big oversight when they were designing it.

    Next is field of view. Holding up this product along side the stock one, it seems that the viewing area is somewhat smaller. For those who want to have a big open viewing space, this is not for you. If it will affect anything, of that I am not sure yet.

    Lastly is minor light bleed. The padding is held onto the plastic frame by means of velcro. While this allows the changing of the padding (it comes with 2) when needed, it also does not form a tight seal so a small amount of dim light sometimes bleeds through around the facial area. The nose seal, while I like the idea they were going with, also is not a tight seal, so expect some minor light bleed there also.

    Overall, at 29.99 it is an ok replacement for the stiff one the Quest comes with. The padding is a lot more comfortable AND, as an added bonus, there are small vents on top for air circulation. I will be giving this a test tonight with a few games to see if it really helps keep my face cooler, but still it seems like a good idea. As far as recommending the product, well that is a yes and no.

    My daughter has an oculus that she uses all the time. So them having this product, when I couldn’t find it anywhere else, on hand was great! I didn’t have to wait forever for it to be shipped. That was really nice! Never disappointed when I go to Best Buy!

    This is a must if you want comfort on your daily use of the headset, I recommend putting of the nose thing if you use glasses.

    I wear not large big frame glasses and if you need the adapter that came with your meta for wearing glasses it does not fit and will not work

    Best Buy hit another home run in my league of befriended and dedicated brands I stick by with loyalty and certainty.

    Quality made and more comfortable and form fitting than those that come with the base set provided with the Quest.

    MOST IMPORTANT TO NOTE — THEY WILL WORK FOR YOU EVEN IF YOU WEAR GLASSES!!!

    I find always pop my contacts in, especially if I’m bumming around the house on a day off so I often am wearing my glasses when using my Quest 2 and these will work for glasses wearers out there.

    As an added tip for ease of use – I find that the easiest way to get started if you’re wearing glasses is to take them off and fit them inside the headset alone and then, while holding the frame and strap with your thumb and fingers, slip the set on, adjusting as needed for comfort and optimum vision.

    It really saves time and that nervous feeling of pushing the mask to your face while you feel your frames bearing the pressure of the squeeze. For some frames – depending on their size – it may be a tight fit and particularly in those cases, you want to try out my little trick if you haven’t already figured it out.

    By doing this little step first, it lets you easily slip the headset on and off without fear of bending or breaking. Also, I’ve noticed less pressure overall on the fit itself and the weight you feel resting on your nose especially. Before it felt like the whole set was weighing down on my nose pads and a couple times it did make my frames bend a little once I finished using the Quest. That’s what led me to try a few different options for putting it on/taking it off and so far, I’ve had no issue with first placing my frames in the headset, then putting the set as a whole on my head.

    Combine that with the pillow cradle comfort of this priceless accessory that just easily snaps in for a quick and easy install and you’ll notice immediately the difference in the quality of your experience.

    My first time using Quest left me with a pressure headache and it felt like the mask was still there hours after removing it – that phantom pressure feeling. It was because my glasses were getting crushed and crushing me in return.

    Now, with this which fix and the simple fix I mentioned, I can go as long as the set stays powered and it’s comfortable for my glasses, face and allows be to utilize the system anytime with clear vision regardless of whether I wore my contacts or my frames.

    Highly, HIGHLY RECOMMEND picking this up and giving it a go. And as with all Best Buy brands, this is a quality, durable item that I can tell will last for as long as I need it to. Insignia is one of the best for in-home store branding and it stands strong against the inflated pricetag of it’s mainstream competition. Unless you’re a die-hard Meta mega fan I recommend saving some money and grabbing the one built, backed and branded by the best in business – Best Buy!

    The one that came with the quest 2 was thin and got sweaty to fast. This one is thicker and has more padding and easy to install. Super comfortable, and help with not getting headaches when wearing the headset for long periods of time. New padding makes easier to play with when wearing glasses.
