    NOT for use as in extension cable when a USB A to A is needed for devices to extend length (like my Satechi 7 port USB strip that the cat chewed the original A<>A cord up!). This cable is more of a crossover cable for a Mac to a PC. I misunderstood the description when I ordered. I’ll be returning.

    BTW I did verify that it does work as intended by hooking this up between my MacBook and Windows 11 desktop

    Transfer is fast, but the proprietary software is less functional when it comes to transferring files. Specifically, there is no provision in their software to handle copying over large numbers of files that already exist on the “to” drive. You can’t skip transfer of all pre-existing files; you must select the action for EACH file.
    Copying data to a fresh, unused drive is fine, but trying to update or back up to pre-existing folders is not.

    Not as easy to use as I would have liked. Stupid pictures that do not match up with FTP, so difficult to know whether files were transferred correctly and guess what They weren’t had to go back multiple times to try to get all files from one machine to the other. Still not sure all is done, just a hassle to use.

    It works perfectly, and my files were transferred seamlessly. Although I’ve tried cables of other brands, I am always pleased with Insignia cables. Plus, they are often priced lower than other well-known brands which make them even better. I strongly recommend Insignia cable for all of your electronic needs.

    Cable doesn’t work like the box says, connect 1 computer to another and all your files will transfer over. It needs a special program. Wasted my money.

    I purchased a new iMac to find the outlets on the back are for the newer connections and since I needed a standard USB 3.0 connection for most of my items I had to search for a fix. This connector goes into the thunderbolt slot and works great.

    I’ve had a terrible time trying to figure out how this works. I have yet been able to transfer my documents from my old computer to my new one. There are no significant directions at all. The plug and play works but I still can’t figure out how to use the program.
