    bigger one. I’ve had other tools like this before, but of all of them, this one was by far the easiest to use and was much quicker.

    I had a 2.5” 1TB hard drive left over from my SSD upgrade. A lot of amazon enclosurers had bad port selection; USB-A to USB-A or USB-B, mini-USB, unremovable cables or all sorts of funky configurations. This best buy enclosure is one of the cheapest I found and also has a USB-C port on it, and comes with a USB-C to USB_C cable with a USB-C to A adapter included (take a shot for every time I said USB). So, it’s future proof and you can replace the cable in case of failure. Installation was easy and tool free; mine fit right in but it also comes with sticky pads if you have a thinner drive. This is a great way to repurpose old drives or just have an external storage device for cheaper. Mostly plastic, but gets the job done and also looks sleek and great.

    I love this SSD drive enclosure. For the price it’s pretty unbelievable. You can connect it to your Mac, Laptop or PC for extra drive space and it’s fantastic on the go. Plus it’s great for transferring information from an old drive to a new one. Buy one you won’t be disappointed.

    I needed a case to do do a large backup quickly if over 1.5 TB. Easily installed the SSD drive and backed up the data for the project that was needed.

    I needed to recover data from my defunct laptop, so an HDD enclosure was a must! The Insignia 2.5 SATA to USB-C HDD Enclosure fit the bill. I slipped the old drive into the enclosure without any difficulty and plugged it in. No tools needed.
    Easy peasy.
    FYI: The USB-C cable came with an adapter for an USB-A port and some foam stick-on shims to take up any slack in the case.

    Had an old laptop with a new drive. Recycled the laptop but used the SATA drive enclosure to make the drive a back up. Works Great! Nice and small and portable with no connection issues.

    I had an old MacBook Pro that would not boot, so I removed the HDD and installed it in this device. I can access all files on the drive. I can also boot onto this drive. Works like a charm!

    It only fits one drive and is limited to the 2.5″ size internal sata, but otherwise it is a great product.

    The included instructions for how to format the drive didn’t work for me. I could see the drive under disk management, but there was no option to “initialize” or otherwise format the drive and it wasn’t showing under My Computer. That said, I was able to use cmd commands to format and setup the drive and it works now.

    This 2.5″ hard drive enclosure has allowed me to examine our older laptop hard drives for photos that were left behind when replacing a laptop. It did exactly what we were hoping to accomplish and at a reasonable, onetime expenditure.

    Only giving it 3 stars bc my HSSD feels a bit loose and unsecured inside so you have to be extra careful and gentle with it. Good for HSDDs or SSDs would not recommend for normal SSDs as it could damage it if your not careful. Otherwise its ok.

    After having issues with our old desktop PC, the geek squad helped diagnose the issue. The hard drive was full and not worth repairing. This helped us immensely to recover our data, and re-use the old hard drive as a portable drive now. A great recommendation by the geek squad crew.
