    The cable worked fine, however, it is too short to use for any purpose other than setting your laptop on top of the router or switch you’re patching into. It may be too short for that as well. At the price, you can buy a longer one cheaper from another site.

    I bought it to connect scientific equipment to computer via virtual com port. Adapter based on pl2303 ic that makes it compatible with windows an linux machines. Personally I used it on both systems. Good price-quallity ratio.

    Bought one at the last minute to troubleshoot a Cisco equipment issue and it worked like a charm.

    Insignia doesn’t have the latest drivers, but you can search “PL2303 RS232 Driver” to hopefully find it on Prolific’s site.

    Requires a network connection and windows update for drivers. Drivers are not available on website. Does not work for systems that are chipset sensitive. Will not work for PC’s running industrial equipment.
