I like the rugged design and sturdy shape. Good to have with kids. Easy to carry and you don’t have to worry about kids breaking it. Young kids like carrying it by the handle too. I think the sound is pretty good. I’m not expecting much. just something for an indoor room or for the patio to chill out to and drink coffee. I listened to No Excuses by Alice in Chains on it one morning while drinking coffee on the patio and I enjoyed it. Battery seems pretty good too. Good price and better build than the tall skinny Sony speaker the salesperson recommended I get instead of iHome. Good value.

I was looking for a very specific feature – IP67 rating – as this will be used in a VERY loud and dusty environment with potential for dropping and rough treatment. The iHome Playtough Pro fit the criteria and I found it on sale at my local Best Buy – this is the older iBT157 model. The demo song made me jump because it is so LOUD! I am anxious to see how it performs.

Speaker would die very fast, you probably get an hour of max volume playtime before the battery drains and lowers the listening volume. Also the max volume is not that loud. I had it 3 feet from me max volume and was not surprised. Get a JBL instead
