    Can’t recomend this. It works sometimes. You’re supposed to remote start your car it pressing the lock button 3 times. I can do this 3-4 times, and it won’t work. Too close to the car, and it won’t work. Sometimes I have to hit unlock, then lock 3 times. Wish it was constant???

    Was installed on 2006 Silverado 2500HD. Half the time won’t unlock the doors, even though the alarm chirps. On occasion have noticed it won’t lock either but not as frequently.

    I purchased this product since I was told by the associate that it was needed with the Viper alarm I was purchasing. When I called the installer he said it wasn’t necessary so I immediately returned it. When I made my alarm installation appointment the installer said he couldn’t install it in my vehicle so I had to return the alarm too. Check with the installer before purchasing this item to see if it is absolutely necessary.

    I say it was good while it lasted. I bought this in 2017. Finally went out 2021 the time I needed the most. I am going to purchase it again because I think it’s worth atleast 4 years…. hopefully, Bestbuy can uninstall the old and reinstall the new… if not, then it’s not worth it.

    Datalink was easy to program and worked as desired. If purchasing to used with a directed electronics or Viper car alarm you need the USB adapter to change the firmware from the iDatalink website. The box doesn’t come with the small accessory and had to buy the small USB dongle from Crutchfield since Best Buy didn’t offer it. Just be aware. Everything else went smoothly.
