UnRaider –
Great build quality. Great sound. Adjustable bass switches is a good option
BLSfmpd –
Perfect for everyday computer use and application.
Batman –
Over all sound quality is good. Mic is decent too.
Jetpackdom –
the sound on this headset is amazing, the only issue I have is the mic volume being too low.
JALIN –

Honestly surprised by Hyper X. I had tested out the Steelseries arctis pros and arctis 7s aswell as the Logitec flagship model going for 200$ and they all sounded flat and didnt have much Bass to them. The logitec did have more bass than steelseries but these Hyper X Cloud Alpha S headphones are Fantastic their mids highs and lows all come in sounding ultra crispy and very well balanced out of the box! The ability to go open back or closed back is fantastic and for a trained ear you can hear the difference. Most of the reviews on here say they cant hear a difference and it almost made me turn away from them until I tried them myself. If your on the fence and are looking at the 200$ steel series models or logitec flagship models save the extra 70$ and get these. The 7.1 virtual works great with windows DTS headphone:X the spacial audio on these are very good for FPS games and the ability to go open back and get more bass has made my music listening experience improve 10 fold. Im hearing things in music ive never heard before and its almost like listening to a song for the first time. All my gaming buddies say my voice is alot clearer than my previous headset so that tells me the mic is a difinitive upgrade over my previous set, For reference I had hyper x Cloud cores that lasted me about 5 years and they still work but the sound quality was diminishing due to age but I loved them Another thing I have to say about hyper x headphones is the comfortability and durability I dont think I could break a hyper x headset if I wanted to these babies are tough! On the comfortability side nothing beats hyper X if you suffer from headaches from headphones hyper X headphones are the only ones I can sit and game for 8 hours with no pain. I spent days looking at headphones and im glad I chose these. hyper X has never let me down. Highly reccomend them if a pair of 200$+ headphones is a hard pill to swallow for you.

These headphones sound great. My friends say the microphone is very clear. The 7.1 Surround Sound is good and the mixer works well too. No problems so far. Great buy for the money.
SEAL62505 –
Great sound quality. It is wired – but you never need to worry about running out of juice!
ckennedy –
They get the job done. 7.1 is okay and they are comfortable enough to wear for a couple hours. Decent volume. Get when on sale though.

Utter waste of my money,
Horrible Sound Quality
Sound is low and fuzzy
Low mic and no mic boost support
Terrible Software
Headset started acting up right when my warranty ended
HyperX makes truly terrible products and I’m angry I didn’t learn from my other subpar HyperX product
paethrs –
Not loud enough at all. Hardly has any base. Would not recommended this to anyone.
Hersh –
Very nice and comfy on me head, muffs are soft. Sound quality is very very very nice.
Mary –
The wire on this headset gets tangled and it is never straight. Terrible quality.

Not bad sound quality mic quality isn’t bad either but they feel cheap to much plastic. Attached non removable headphone cord makes noise in the ear cup when it rubs on clothing etc that’s why detachable one’s are better. The in-line controls are alright. Changing ear cups on this is a skill you need to acquire it is not easily done at all enjoy 5-10 mins per ear cup. Comfort is alright until about 2 hours of gaming for me. I got these as my Astro A40s got lost in a flight luggage and yea they are in no shape or form anywhere near that quality im used to. The cups are soft and all but after 2 hours it’s just a lot of pressure the Astro’s I could wear all day and when removed I don’t feel like I’ve been wearing a headset all day. Returning these for a new Astro pair.

I hate to say it, but these are just horrible if you care about sound quality at all.
When connected through the included USB audio control mixer, the sound is “fine”. Nothing about it is great but nothing is too bad…yet. I tried to use these on my Dell laptop and while they work in their normal mode, the virtual surround mode just flat out doesn’t work at all. No audio whatsoever. Their instructions are outdated so you have to just kind of mess with things until windows says surround is on.
When plugged into my laptop without the USB mixer things really get bad. The bass is weak, the mids are muddied and the highs are tinny.
When I hooked them up to my FiiO DAC/AMP things improved a little. There was more power and I had a little more room to try to boost the bass more, but it was still pointless. No matter what I did, I just couldn’t get these to sound good. I hooked up my old Oneodio A71 headphones to compare and they sounded world’s better. What’s sad is those A71’s only cost $30-40.
These advertise adjustable bass, but that’s a lie. What you get is a switch on the back of the cups that opens a little port hole, making them work a bit more like open back headphones. It doesn’t boost the bass, it lets more air move around, thus changing the whole sound profile.
I do admit the build quality is solid, though the headphone cable could use another foot to its length in my opinion.
A few years ago I would have recommended HyperX headphones. I loved my Cloud II’s. And maybe those are still good headphones. But I would avoid these like the plague.
MomOf3 –
My son bought these with his money saved up from chores. He loves them and uses them everyday, says the sound quality is great
ActionJackson –
10/10. Truly am impressed with these headphones exceed my expectations. Purchased on a deal so was well worth it
batcie –
Love the sound quality of these headphones. Best for gaming and music. The sound at first sounded off – but after some reddit searches I was able to fix it. So now it is perfect 🙂
iLiekTech –
Fairly comfortable. Seemed to have decent sound, but didn’t really test it too much. Having no sidetone is a deal breaker, so I’ll be returning it.
Alexj –
Sound quality is fantastic, mic clarity is also great. Mic volume (output) is a bit on the weaker side but not enough to make me avoid buying this again if I needed to.
LuisZ –
I was never a fan of my previous gaming headsets they would always be to thingy or the sound quality would always be too muddy but these are perfect in my opinion as they are very clear that you can hear every fine detail and a side adjustment for bass if you want the rumble or if you just want the clear but these provide magnificent amounts of bass and mids and treble I have been with them for 2 years and still work as great as if they were new dropped them a couple times when I would rage but they haven’t taken any damage which to me is amazing their build quality is very premium and I usually get headaches from having headphones on my head for a while but these never gave me headaches before
Meli –
I purchased this item on October 27, yet there has been no update on its shipping. Only the label has been created and it hasnt even shipped out. This is ridiculous with no updates at all.
Mick –
Brought this for my son for Christmas, he said the quality was excellent
Ryan –
Son loves it. It replaced another Hyper-X headset that lasted 2 plus year
Robert –
I love these headphones, but after years I have moved onto the Logitech g pro x . Having bought 2 pairs of these Hyper X I must say the 7.1 is disappointing to say the least, it is hardly usable in most applications. I will say the mixing interface provided is very handy when playing loud games and need to hear teammates better or vice versa. I do like the bass adjustment switches on the earphones, but thats something that can be done passively through software instead of a physical interface. G-hub has a built in eq that links up with the headset immediately and saves each preset eq/custom settings to each profile. As in whatever game or application is running it will switch to that eq profile, Very useful. Sadly, I waited for hyper x to release something like this but nothing came. There is some weak UI you had to download through windows apps (garbage move btw), but otherwise nothing compareable. I love the second set of mesh ear pads, they are great for breathablity and long hours of gaming. The audio and build quality are superb. Overall I still like them but wish they could do more in terms of capabilities.
JordanD –
This headset is very nice. Have been using it for about 1-2 months now. At First I thought the sound quality was bad but once I watched how to set up the headsets different audio sets it was good to go. Very comfortable and good sound. Only downside is the built in mic.
Kevv –
Decent headset for the price and build quality is good as well
RafaelR –
My microphone stopped working after 8 months. They’re pretty comfortable on the head without glasses. The spacial accuracy and accuracy of the sound are close but no cigar. They don’t fit comfortably with glasses on and the volume buttons on the toggle don’t work unless I press pretty hard. Coming from someone who works audio in the production industry, they’re definitely not as great as they say
Allen –
Good headset. No issues with mic bleed through. Audio sounds great and mic is very clear. I love the remote that’s inline on the cable.
Whoawin –
They are great. Great sound no issues with the mic. I love the in line mute button for work and the ability to remove it for gaming.
Steve –
This headset is great for gaming and music but lacks a good microphone. I can barely be heard when gaming or on video calls. I have to havr the mic touching my lips. And yes I’ve twisted the mic arm so the correct side is facing me. Windows settings are at max input level and I cannot install a third party software for work. The 3.5mm cable length is too short to use without the USB controller. This places the controller at an odd distance where it is hard to cable manage.
David –
Good headset for the value, it gets the job done and has great audio, mic is decent.
Aaron –
Simply said hyper x is a gaming company. They make anything gaming, but that dosent mean they sacrifice any quality! No they make high quality stuff like these headphones with a detachable mic and cable!
Maria239 –
I use this headset everyday! build quailty is very good and sounds amazing for the price !! I Is a little heavy but not overwhelming.
Happy –
This pair has a lot of popping noises not sure if all of them are like this or i just got a bad pair but its really annoying while playing a game ..a lot of minor problems you think would be fixed with that price they charge them at…plus the fact the new ones came out like two weeks after i purchased these makes it even worse….they are comfortable on my head but that popping noise just makes them annoying
Ryan –
They work really well. Must have especially for PS5, Xbox or PC
Schmidty –
Purchased this pair as an upgrade to my Cloud 2 headset which I used for 4 years and loved. When I plugged in the headset and ran a firmware update, I was disappointed to find that the audio quality was not what I had hoped for and sounded worse than my old headset. Another gripe is that the headset was heavier and less comfortable than the Cloud 2. Ended up returning and might buy a new Cloud 2 headset soon.
William –
HyperX has made the best headset I’ve ever used. It’s comfortable, durable, and the quality is great for the price you pay.
SusanB –
The quality wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. I took it back and bought the 11
TrentG –
Amazing headset hyperx does not disappoint, had to got buy the wireless version too
Ces20 –
Good audio but the microphone is a different story, it needs improvement on the design.
Taylor –
Really love this headset. I just plug it straight into my Scarlett2i2 or my PC headphone/mic jack. Don’t care too much for the surround sound USB dongle it came with. My motherboard’s sound card is better sounding to me. I also like the bass tuning sliders on the headset. The cushions on these headphones are very comfortable also. I use the Leatherette ones for sound isolation even though they do make your ears hot.
JOBO –
I’ve went through like 4 of these headsets the past few years, not sure if I’m too rough on them or what. Still like them though.
sheffdog –
Yes I would buy this again and I would recommend this to anyone
Drei –
Have owned this headset for a year and a half and have been very pleased with it. Use it for gaming and watching videos; sound quality is great. Cable length is very long so its very forgiving if you need to move around a bit.
Matisa0522 –
I’ve always loved hyperX Headsets. I find them to be the most comfortable out of your typical “budget” gaming headsets. I’ve owned 3 over the past 8 years, and not because 2 have broken; I was just trying different models, wired and wireless. I love them all, and still have them all.
daddyDABIS –
The headset itself is very comfortable and the audio on it is pretty solid overall. The price is really bang for the buck, you won’t be replacing it anytime soon with proper use.
AngelV –
Audio sounds amazing but I wish it was a normal audio jack instead of a usb a port to plug in also works with ps5/4
Vendaxian –
Very comfortable, and I have a big head and big ears!
Sound quality is good, and inline amp option allows ability to run through USB through amp or disconnect and connect directly with 3.5mm jack (higher quality sound this way)
My only complaint is the mic is fairly quiet with no internal amp/boost db gain available
