I use this unit for work, and I really like it. I often have several programs running at once, and this laptop handles the memory demands well. Enjoy the larger screen. It is bulkier to carry around than its smaller cousins, but that’s no a big problem for me.

Absolutely hate it thinks constantly crashes you can’t set it up without Ethernet and doesn’t even have an Ethernet port so you need an adapter touchscreen doesn’t work and the graphics card crashes the pc

This has no reflection on how I feel about best buy, simply just hp laptops in general. I was excited for this purchase at first, I thought it was a cool idea to have a touch screen laptop but it is extremely unreliable and generic parts. Mine blue screen of death within 3 days of having it. Do not get this laptop.

This is absolutely the most enjoyable laptop that I’ve ever owned.
I will start out by saying that my budget didn’t include purchasing such a nice laotop, but I was able to acquire it as “open box”.
Make sure to keep an eye out for these deals. In fact, every “open box” purchase I’ve ever made at Best Buy over the years, has been absolutely pleasurable. I don’t regret any of these purchases.
I was hoping to get a 9th or 10th gen laptop. I was using a 6 i5 6th gen model and it would no longer keep up with what I needed. I was really needed to move to Windows 11 but that required an 8th gen model, I believe.
That’s when I came across this beauty. Once looking at the details of this model, I noticed they had an “open-box” link where you add it to your cart. I was ecstatic!!
I thought an i7 12-generation model was only a dream for me. However, this dream became a reality with open-box pricing. I did have to drive an hour away to pick it up at a different Best Buy, but oh, was it worth it.
Upon opening it, it didn’t appear to be in “Satisfactory” condition, it appeared to be BRAND NEW. It was in the original HP box, with all paperwork and accessories. It did NOT appear as if it had ever been used at all. I, of course, was doing my best not to drool on it as it was absolutely beautiful.
When I got home and played around with it, I decided to upgrade it. I immediately upgraded the memory to 64GB (2x 32 GB modules) and installed a 2TB m.2 drive, both of which were purchased at Best Buy at great prices.
When I open the laptop, it immediately cuts on, recognizes my face, and logs me into the desktop without typing a password or pin code. In fact, I set up my wife an account on this laptop and when she’s looking at it, it recognizes that it’s her and logs in as her. Windows 11 has some really nice features.
Overall, this is the fastest, nicest, and most beautiful laptop that I’ve ever had a chance to use. Even when working, I had been given 9th and 10th generation equipment to use while onsite. However, there’s nothing as nice as this 12th generation.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I have!

This is a great laptop! We had a very similar earlier model that we replaced with a different brand. When that one died I shopped around looking for something and kept coming back to this one. It has all the features we wanted. Great storage. Fast processor. Right hard drive. Big screen size. And a number pad, essential for me working with numbers. No complaints about this computer at all!

This is a great laptop; I’ve purchased about 10 in the past several months looking for the “one” and finally decided on this. Granted, I’m not oblivious to the tech specs, but for me, it’s all about user interaction; the keyboard is good, the keyboard layout makes sense (simple things like one key “home” function etc.), it’s sturdy (unlike the equivalent Samsung I purchased) and it doesn’t consistently crash.
Cons: the monitor seems somewhat strangely engineered. There are two small ‘brackets’ that connect the monitor to the computer and they seem to make a “popping” sound when encountering any physical resistance, which happens nearly every time it is opened. I’m not 100% sure of the cause, but regardless, it’s annoying. I can’t tell if it makes it more robust or fragile ultimately, but I suppose something of which to be aware. Also, this thing is HEAVY. Granted, all these cons are the ultimate in first world problems, but for a laptop of this caliber, I’d expect at min. 20% less weight. It also doesn’t seem to have the offsetting battery life I would expect in exchange for the heft. Not terrible, but nothing extraordinary, for the imposed bicep curls.
Lastly, and most nitpickingly, given the choice between this and any other color, I’d happily have taken blue, black or anything else/darker. Just shows everything, doesn’t hold up to wear as well and generally looks a little basic.

The unit is a good machine. I bought an open box item and was misinformed by the store at Tuttle Crossing, and then lied to. To fix this mistake, I traveled to Findlay to exchange it for another open box item of the same model. I was assured by a manager in the Findlay location, that this was working and nothing wrong with it. Well, I get there and drive home 2 1/2 hours and find out the touch screen and the sound do not work. So, I take it to my local store and between them and Findlay each are complaining about who should take care of it. I just want the unit to work, so now I have to buy another laptop and send this one off under warranty. Talk about inconvenience the client. Had one amazing person from the call center, and she was to call back last week and now hasn’t. The rest at the call center lied, challenged, hung up on me but never could help. Saw another open box item and called to buy it, but no one could tell me where it was. So like a “Bait and Switch”.

I love the size of the screen. Makes it easy to view multiple tabs at once. The keyboard is so soft I enjoy typing. The backlight funtion comes in very handy at times. The system generally runs smoothy. I use alot of programs for work amd have many of the running simultaneously without any issues. Battery life is also acceptable. I am always on the laptop connected to the power so I might be underestimating the battery life. Oberall, a great buy. I would definitely recommend.

I got this computer October 2022, and it completely died on me after having it for a year. It turns on but it just freezes entirely until the screen eventually turns black, I can’t access task manager and there’s no point in waiting for it to go back to normal because it won’t, I have to turn it off via power button.
Besides that it gave me a lot of issues throughout the year, the battery life is awful and it needed to be plugged in or it would die within the hour, the volume was so quiet even at max which made it hard to watch or listen to anything without headphones.
Please DO NOT buy this laptop!

Awesome laptop. I bought it back in 2022 because my Chromebook was of no good use and I needed it for college. Great quality for work and gaming (by gaming I for the most part run a Gamecube emulator). It’s nice to have the light behind the keys and the number pad when typing out numbers. I haven’t had any critical issues with this laptop yet. I would highly recommend using this one.
