Michael –
Very comfortable and buttons feel very responsive.
TechDad04 –
The switch is such a versatile gaming system that keeps me and my son engage when we feel its time for some smash brothers!
AngelF –
These split pad pro joycons are great especially for bigger handed people. They sit comfortably in my hands and I never feel like the Nintendo switch itself is slipping through like with the regular joycons. Especially with the added turbo buttons and the mappable buttons that are on the back make it great for when I play shooter games or Pokémon. Definitely would recommend these to anyone looking for a more comfortable grip for playing in handheld mode.
JayM –
the nintendo switch oled is truly remarkable. sound, graphics and controls are top shelf!!
Alex –
These are an excellent alternative to regular JoyCons. They feel much better in the hand and are more comfortable. It’s not a 5 star review because I ended up missing motion controls and NFC amiibo support when playing Tears of the Kingdom in handheld mode. Game works perfect without these two things, but I just wish it had the feature set.
StephenT –
Love the feel of the joycons. They’re much more comfortable then the original joycons that come with the switch. The supports on the back to make sure they do not break is also a nice design feature
Josue24 –
These are a bit bigger than the standard joycons. The extra real estate makes it more comfortable to olay in handheld mode. Wxtar back buttons on each are another plus downside being there is no rumble or gyro
KenShinmura –
Great set of extra controls for portable play. Feels cheap because of the light weight but this it probably due to the lack of batteries. Overall the the controllers are very comfortable because of the extra thickness of the grip area and slightly shifted button/joystick layout.
Tany –
It works well for my child needs. We were looking for this product and we found it here
BCrab –
Used the controller for about two weeks and its already got drift. The controller feels good in the hand but thats about the only upside that i found.
Klinester –
works as expected. The controllers are a larger size than the joy cons and comfortable to hold. Does not have Amiibo support and will not fit in a case but still worth of the price
GWGB –
Good times. If you like gaming in the go, buy it. I swear.
BenW –
Great joypads and they are lighter than the originals which I like personally. Also easier to hold with a better grip!
phyconate –
Works great feels great wish it had battery capabilities
Mario –
They were fine. Comfortable to hold and all that but they don’t have an internal battery (I overlooked that when I read the description, that’s in me) and the inputs felt like they lagged just a touch. Ultimately ended up returning for originals
EinG –
Great, comfortable grips. They feel infinitely better than the normal switch controllers. I don’t like that they do not work if they aren’t plugged in nor do they have rumble, but as a controller for plane rides and handheld mode they’re great.
I wish they came in more color ways. They don’t feel quite as premium as the switch joycons, but feel solid and rugged; I toss them in my bag and dont need to worry about them breaking.
AndersonU –
excellent product, the truth was that at first I had doubts about buying it, but when I got my purchase I really felt very pleased, the order arrived in less time than it said, which I thought was wonderful, the quality is incredible, it feels great with my console It is a purchase that I recommend to everyone!
Blake –
They feel great in your hand for when you want to play handheld mode. They feel pretty well constructed and are great if you want something more comfortable than the joy-cons. The reason I’m giving a star off, You CAN NOT map buttons from one controller to the other. They don’t have a battery in them, so not realizing, I bought them with intent to add both the “X and B” buttons to the programmable buttons on the left and right. You can’t do that. So that’s why I’m taking a star off.
Eternalwisdom –
My son absolutely loves these joy con replacements. He is an older kid in his teen so his hands are larger than pre-teens and these fit perfectly.
AlexH –
Controllers were extremely comfortable, build quality felt amazing. Buttons were super satisfying to press, joysticks were smooth and had lots of range. No rumbl isnt a huge deal but No Gyro controls is rough especially on games that use it like Zelda BotW or TotK. I also guess I just got unlucky and got stick drift on the first day so I returned them. I never re bought it also because it didnt fit in my portable case. Wish they here built a little tougher.
Edgutts –
The original switch controllers are a little bit too small for me, so this was definitely a game changer very much recommend
Marvin –
This has made playing games on the switch so much more enjoyable.
Minyack –
These grips are way more comfortable than the joycons that come with the Switch, but they feel poorly built. I bought them because some reviews said they had less wiggle and felt more secure than stock joycons but I found that to not be the case for me. Maybe the ones I got are the outlier but there is a good amount of flex/wiggle. Also, the home button is pretty much useless if your Switch is asleep or the screen is off. They don’t have batteries in them so they only work when not in sleep mode
HumbertoM –
Drift No vibration available…………………..
Datyus –
Great replacement controllers for the joy cons. These are so much more comfortable than the joy cons. What they lose in wireless capability they more than make up for in comfort and durability.
AndrewMD –
These do not support motion like standard Switch controllers. This is a huge disappointment as the grip is good.
ScottW –
These controllers are much better than the stock joy con the system comes with. They are bigger and fit your hands better definitely worth the purchase
Jtiwan –
Did not fit with my case that I use to protect it, so don’t buy if u have case on switch
Valligator –
Works really well! I especially love the turbo feature.
VirtualFun –
There’s no comparison to the original. These are better in every way. Comfort and performance.
Fitssmhands –
Ive been wanting new joycons so i dont ruin the original ones that will eventually cause stick drift. These are smooth and the buttons feel nice. Also the color is so clean!!
ThomasD –
Awesome joy cons. Feel and look great. Bottoms and thumb stick feel great not cheap. I love them Don’t think I can ever go back to stock joy cons so much less strain on my wrists. Very happy with purchase wearth every penny.

Two things that I have always wanted on my Switch since launch are a proper d-pad and better ergonomics. I tried a few different grip cases and those d-pad caps that stick onto the individual arrow buttons but those grip cases never were dockable (even when claimed to do so) and the stick on d-pad cap always felt pretty cheap.
Then there’s the giant sea of third party joy cons online – many with mixed reviews. I came upon this one as it has been the most promising. I’ve had it for less than 24 hours but the dpad is excellent and the ergonomics are greatly improved. All the buttons have a satisfactory tactile push and click to them. The analog sticks are wonderful and leaps and bounds ahead of the standard joy con sticks. I played a few hours of Dead Cells and Shovel Knight and having the d-pad feels like a game changer. I also tried the analog sticks out on the retro FPS game DUSK and it was a lot of fun and felt a great sense of precision and control.
The biggest thing keeping this from being a 5-star review is no rumble. That haptic feedback can be not only satisfying in games, but feels crucial in certain first party games where rumble is used to indicate a hint (i.e. Super Mario Odyssey or Breath of the Wild). It’s also fairly wide so you’ll need to buy a case specific for these if you plan to travel with and want to protect them. I tried removing each side and putting them into the upper zippered compartment of my large Fintie Switch case with the screen seperate on the bottom but they are too large. Since these are not wireless or battery powered, I suspect this is why they had to add the Assign & Turbo buttons on both sides which I never plan to use and take away from what could have been a sleeker device.
In summary, if you’re someone like me who has been wanting a proper d-pad or improved ergonomics, this should be at the top of your list. The analog sticks are large and very fun to handle. Just know there are some sacrifices. For some that will be gyro aiming or portability, for me it’s not having rumble. With those omitted features, I feel this product would be more fairly priced at $40, not $50 as $50 starts to encroach into joy con pricing territory.
HelalA –
Personally, I think this is better than the internet better than the original nintendo switch controller
GilbertoM –
I have to wait about 7 day to get it delivered. It worth the wait. Somehow it ended up place in a wrong palette in shipping department fly all the way to California to North Carolina. But hey the controller made it without a problem no sign of tamper or damaged. The controller is Great but there some downsides it doesn’t have Vibration, Wireless and NFC. But it worth buying it if you looking for a controller similar to pro controller.
OscarM –
Very good the handles are a little loose but I believe that’s on my switch overall just feels better
Kittenbloodlust –
Makes starting up tournaments and stuff and walking away so much easier
twokayzz –
This was just what i needed fpr my larger hands makes the Switch feel more premium for me!
Gamer –
Definitely an upgrade in handheld over the base joycons. Highly recommend if you have bigger hands and play handheld mode.
FilmFanatic –
The grips have a good quality to them despite them being pretty light. Its a shame that they aren’t wireless or have all the bells and whistles of an ordinary Joy-Con, but they are so much more comfortable to hold!
HectorE –
Helps improves your handheld experience. I would 100 percent recommend this product
Unknown –
Good value for the price is a excellent product I like
Scotty –
Great balance between the smaller size of the hori split pad pro and newer buttons that feel better. Still lacks rumble which i was hoping for, but over all a solid ergonomic joycon replacement for hand held gaming.
JeffS –
I love the Hori Split Pad Compact’s smaller form factor compared to the Pro (as well as how it’s flush with the Switch’s screen). If you love the Nintendo Switch Lite’s mushy face buttons, you’ll love the ones on the Compact. The analog sticks are larger than on joy-cons but not quite as large as on PS/Xbox controllers. The rear back buttons work but are limited to mapping to a button on the same side (left or right). Unfortunately, there’s no rumble/gyro/amiibo support either so if those features are dealbreakers for you, then you should look elsewhere. Overall, the Hori Split Pad Compact is a must-have for handheld Switch gamers.
Charlie –
Makes the switch feel way better! Smart thinking Nintendo!
Jokpkdkfkkdkf –
Best switch pro controllers for handheld gaming sessions.
PS4Pro –
It is easy to use and add to my switch. My game play is easier to play while on the move.
RogerP –
Comfortable grips, easy to use for people with arthritis.
Matt –
Great addition to switch! Better than the joycons even though they lack motion control or rumble. My sons love them too and the controls are better feeling.
Cheis –
Very easy to hold ergonomic only wish is that it was also wireless
