We went through 2 Sunbeam brand mixers, both went ‘kaput’ after only a year or so. We were looking for something heavier duty but without having to pay the premium for the KItchenAid line. We looked at this Hamilton Beach and could immediately tell it was very well built, it is actually quite heavy compared to most other brands, with power to spare and a warranty that simply cannot be beat (anything at all goes wrong in the first 3 years, they ship you a new mixer, with prepaid label to return the old one-now THAT is a warranty you do not see very often these days…). Our first workout for this unit was homemade pasta dough, which is quite tough on a mixer (requires alot of power). This mixer plowed through dough-making like nothing, like there was hardly anything in the bowl! Overall, we are quite pleased, and the warranty gives extra confidence in the purchase. Highly Recommended!

I purchased this in the black color when my son was 3 years old he will be 21 years old in a few weeks. I have never had a single problem with the functions of this mixer. I’ve made pound cakes, chocolate chip cookies, occasionally pizza dough and cheesecakes in it over the years and it never quit on me. Never had to get it repaired. Other than cleaning it its been really easy to own and use. My only con is that the painted numbers for the speeds have almost rubbed completely off. Its no a big deal because you can feel each step up in speed as you move the lever but maybe they should just engrave the speeds into the machine, it is metal after all. I think anyone would be happy with this mixer just be reasonable about what you are using it for. Any mixer by even the most expensive brand can struggle under heavy loads. There are many great stand mixers out there that don’t break the bank these days.
