The phone has a 5 star but the service from the store I went has 3 stars
TainaM –
Love it , better than a iPhone in my opinion and e camera quality is amazing
Dingophonedog –
Ladies, it’s a great phone that fits in your pocket!! How rare is that?!? Nice camera and does everything you expect from a pixel. Very happy customer!
HriteshwarT –
Great phone! Great display! Excellent battery life although struggles a bit when we use data.
user825920 –
The most optimal phone I have purchased. Going from a trad android to this, the camera quality is superb.
DavidW –
Phone works great. Really appreciate the face unlock,
Dude –
Really nice phone for small hands. It’s just a bit smaller than my pixel 6. About as wide as the pixel 2.
Only going to get better as the bug fixes roll out.
I would almost recommend getting the pro if you’re expecting something bigger.
Patrick –
Great phone and amazing camera. Bought unlocked and set up easily.

Overall, there’s nothing “wrong” with the phone. Coming from a 2 year old iPhone, the largest downside of the pixel is the CPU performance. I don’t see how the tensor g3 is considered a flagship CPU, the performance is either even or worse than my old iPhone. Pixel also has VERY limited customization compared to other android phones out of the box, which means that to really customize you will have to leave the pixel launcher (which is a main selling point) and use a different launcher. My experience is that other launchers hinder performance slightly. The camera is good, I haven’t done enough testing to reach a conclusive opinion but so far I haven’t been blown away. Apps run much worse than iPhone generally. If you use snapchat regularly I wouldn’t get this phone. Runs worse than my even older iPhone 11!! For the sale price of 550 I think this phone is a good option but nothing I’ve experienced leads me to believe that google made a flagship device. Overall I probably would get a different phone if I could go back but there’s nothing too terrible with this one. Bio metrics are good when they work, the lighting requirements for reliable face unlock mean that you will have to get used to using the fingerprint sensor (which should have been an ultrasonic sensor) whenever there is less than direct lighting on your face. I’m just glad I didn’t spend more money and get the same tensor g3 in the more expensive pro phone.

My son couldn’t be happier with this phone he can’t stop talking about it
jazzman –
So Google pixel 8 has all the latest Google goodness without any bloatware. I get 2 days worth of battery life and I chose this phone for its size. It fits into my running utility belt
JTmoney –
i like it the camera is dope it charges fassssssst
MaleeshaT –
Great phone. Nice and sleek, and a great amount of storage. I went from a Google Pixel 4XL, this is a great upgrade.
DonB –
Good phone . Takes really good pictures . Easy to use

This phone replaced an antiquated flip phone. The transition between a highly featured device has made it difficult to provide a meaningful review. It requires understanding new terminology with minimal guidance. It takes a lot of research to deploy the “settings” if you don’t know what the feature is designed to deliver. A detailed user’s guide would probably have allowed me to more readily deploy this phone.
user292173 –
Replaced a Pixel 4A. Pixel 8 is very nice. Works great.
user287356 –
The best Android phone so far! I migrated from the annoying iPhone, feels way better!
Camera, Magic editing Software, 4G, ease of use, flexibility
Adam –
Got the phone for my dad for Christmas. Purchase was super easy. Picked it up in store no problems!
Raybo7 –
I love the look and feel of this phone. I got this phone during the holiday sales and the price was right.
The photo camera is my favorite feature. Colors are great and so sharp.
The display is beautiful. Gets really bright even with a tinted screen protector.
The Google assistant call screen feature is legit! I rarely get a spam call now:)
The only drawback is the charging speeds are pretty slow and the battery drains pretty quick. I had to turn off the always on smooth display and that helped some but could be better.
I would give rhis phone 4.5 out of 5 if I could. The battery life was my only drawback.
DanielF –
Our pixel 8s are great phone for the price. We loved our pixel 3 as well.
SamG –
Nice phone good price. wish it was bigger.
MichaelT –
An amazing phone, very fast, reliable, and most importantly: lots of space.
ShawnM –
I’ve been a Pixel user since the beginning and after the 2XL I opted to try other Android enabled phones only to be met with recurring disappointment. This Pixel has been rock solid and offers many features other flagship Android phones are lacking. This is the best Google phone to date. Since this phone is so new it took awhile to find a case that was mag safe and could be used with my car mount.
SarahMKay –
Absolutely love this phone! Its fast, and it does everything a phone should do. The camera is nice and the phone isn’t too heavy
HarshG –
Everything about the Pixel 8 is top notch, except for Battery life. It hardly lasts 4hr with the 5G network on.
RickyB –
I have loves rhe Google Pixel phones for years. I recommend them to all my friends. BUT as with everything, there’s always a glitch. As soon as i bought the Pixel 8 it was getting very hot in my hand in the parking lot of best buy. Several times within that week it got very hot. And i never could get a signal on my phone.
I took it back and the customer service guy looked it up and it’s on the internet about how many people are having problems with the Pixel 8.
Mona –
Expected to be great. Good for taking pictures and video
Jsmart –
Must buy preferably for a female who loves the camera
PJBhosle –
Good budget friendly phone. Good camera and for $550 definitely great option.
Gary –
I love my new Pixel 8. It is everything I hoped for plus some.
It takes great pictures and runs all of my apps at their maximum potential.
CDS1 –
We’ve had Pixel phones since they first the Pixel 8 has this far been great, we are very pleased.
JonathanW –
Nice phone, arrived on time. I’ve used Google pixel phones in the past.
RalphP –
Purchased online for in store pick up which was a breeze!! Love the phone. Switched back after having iPhone for a while and I missed the ease of use and that CAMERA. Refresh rate, screen size, body form factor. A+
MichaelB –
This is the best phones I have ever owned, great price, great camera, and fast.
AbhijeetG –
Works good. Has a decent battery life too. Speed is good.
Wayne –
I’ve only had this new phone a couple of days now but I sure do like it. It is an upgrade for a 5 but the new functions are really good.
Luddite –
Went looking for a new phone when i learned my Pixel 4A was not going to receive any more updates. Decided to go with the Pixel 8 because it will get 7 years of updates. Was happy to discover an end of year sale and a generous trade in offer for my 4A at Best Buy.
techlover –
Works like a champ! Smaller size makes it more comfortable in the pocket. If you can get it on sale it’s 1/2 the price of the top dollar phones with an awesome camera to boot! I’d recommend it to anyone looking at Android phones.
Keyera –
I’m giving this review 3 stars because the phone was shipped on time, good open-to-box and had everything in the box. Then, I took the phone to a mobile store to have it activated and switch sim card out. But, the phone has a damaged sim slot in it, so a sim card couldn’t go in the phone, and had to activate eSim card.
Duck58 –
So far so good, have only had it for 1 week.Still learning the phone. The phone is not too large, not to small and comfortable to hold. The camera takes nice pictures.
Game –
Easy to use, very durable and crisp clear camera. Love the color
user932613 –
Great condition it’s practically new for a used phone. I wouldn’t even call this used
MarcusD –
The phone is amazing in every way! The service i received at the plymouth location was great as well, i was in and out of the store in under 20 minutes!
ParkerS –
The Pixel 8 may not be a pocket powerhouse like other phones packing the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC, which Google’s Tensor G3 noticably lags behind both in terms of performance and efficiency.
But, if you’re like me you really don’t care about the lack of available processing power. I don’t play many games on my phone, and the few I do play aren’t that intensive. So, a big powerful processor isn’t one of my priorities. And this isn’t to say you can’t play the newest games on your phone. You might just see a dip in performance when your phone gets alittle to hot.
But what the Tensor G3 lacks in general performance it makes up for it by utilizing AI and other software tricks to make your overall smartphone experience better. From custom themes generated to match your wallpapers, screening phone calls for scams, and erasing unwanted subjects from your photos. This phone is smart. And with seven years of software updates promised by Google. You shouldn’t have to think about a new phone anytime soon.

Honestly I am extremely disappointed with this device. I switched from an iPhone 13 Pro, and now 11 days out of the return window, I deeply regret it.
Beyond the general clunkiness of Android and the mismash of Google apps and services that are constantly at risk of getting killed off:
– data sometimes just doesn’t work until you turn it off and on again
– I’ve gone stretches where it would just miss calls and texts
– USB audio interfaces do NOT work with it, even my old cheap Motorola One Zoom can do this
Do your research, you’ll find plenty of people have complaints about this phone. Heed them and don’t make the mistake I did.
SyedmohammadsualehA –
Solid phone with nice camera and will also provide most if not all the features at this price!
SrikanthP –
Awesome phone, the camera is fantastic. Don’t even understand why ppl buy an iPhone
Woodworth –
Love this phone it has been the best one yet! And the picture quality it’s outstanding!
LiLi –
I could have bought this phone anywhere but I returned to Best Buy for their exceptional customer service. The Verizon rep at the Blakeney store (Rahi) was helpful above and beyond in guiding me and helping the phone get set up through the network. He was generous with his time and very knowledgeable and considerate.

Bought this in an emergency to replace a pixel 7 pro with a cracked screen. Surprisingly it doesn’t at all feel like a downgrade. No complaints about this phone at all, feels like a flagship device and runs like a champ.
