  1. Michael

Saw this in upcoming-pre orders, thought the details were interesting and so I bought launch day.

The game is fun, the sprites are adorable too. Goodbye World also has a neat emotional story, which I’m more than sure any artist or programmer who’s struggled with their work will appreciate.

That said the game is SUPER short. For $35 you’re getting a physical game that’s beaten in a hour, MAYBE 2 hours tops if you insist on beating the mini game throughout the story ( And that’s being very generous)

Basically the pros and cons are below

    PROS
-emotional and interesting story(programmers/artists may appreciate this game more based on the story)

-Easy to sit down and play
-Music during mini game is catchy and fun
-physical copy includes stickers and poster

    CONS
-VERY short (can be beaten in around a hour)
-$35 and there is zero replay value.

Overall fun game and I enjoyed my experience, but keep in mind this is more or less a game you play once and then don’t come back to (and if you do it’s years later, for maybe an hour, then put back on your collection shelf)

Let me start off by saying I love this game. The story it tells, and the way it lets you connect with its two protagonists are just beautiful. The passion that the developers had for their project is evident, but even with that, the game is still just shy of being an hour and a half long. There are no alternate routes or incentives to replay (outside of trying to complete Blocks).

The story is basically structured like anime film with a small Gameboy inspired game in between each day’s events. If you enjoy these sort of meta-drama narratives, then Goodbye World is a something that you’ll most likely enjoy, but just be aware of its short breadth going in.

  3. Timmmmehhh

Interesting concept, but not well executed. This game tries to chronicle the perils of indie developers struggling to make a game. However, the only actual gameplay is a little gameboy-style puzzle game. It can also be beaten in 2-3 hours, and the story falls flat in the end. I’d recommend skipping this one.

  4. Chocobun

This game is super short, you can beat it in an hour and a half. Its a story about two friends who want to make video games. It plays like a visual novel with some basic platforming in between chapter. Neat idea but definitely not for everyone. Comes with a little poster though.
