The GE Profile 7-Quart Bowl Smart Stand Mixer is amazing. Out of the box, it is fairly heavy for being an on-the-counter kitchen appliance (Appx 48 Lbs). However, once it is out of the box and it is set up on the countertop it is fairly easy to use. It came with multiple attachments, it came with impeccable quick-start instructions. One of the great things about this mixer is its ability to be controlled by the smartphone.

The mixer is very sturdy, the only downside (This is my first big mixer) is that the bowl only drops down so far from the head, so you do have to fit the attachment into the bowl once it’s in there. The head does not articulate upwards like on smaller, cheaper mixers.

Overall this mixer is very durable, sturdy, and looks super sleek. It’s fun and easy to use with great functionality, it comes with a mixer head, a whisk, and the dough attachment as well, making this a very versatile mixer for all or at least most of your baking needs.

I would highly recommend this to anyone that has a desire for baking and is not afraid of technology.

The GE Profile Stand Mixer is certainly powerful, with a motor that runs very cool and can run very fast. The device has 11 speeds that provide to you all the versatility needed to mix everything from whip cream to bread dough.

Yes, it does weigh nearly 50 pounds, however it is commercial rated and to utilize its higher speeds it must have enough weight to keep it firmly in place. I mixed some heavy items at the top speed and the unit was rock solid – great. The substantial weight is also necessary to keep it planted while mixing very viscous material. So this weight is necessary to handle the power and speed of the mixer and the design is therefore consistent with the heavy duty use this mixer can handle – nice job by the engineers.

It is well advised to find a permanent spot on your countertop where this mixer can ‘live’. It would not be a good idea to try and tuck it into a cabinet since the weight might likely deter you from using this fine product.

The manufacturer did put some smarts into this mixer including WiFi connectivity and the associated cell phone app. I did spend about 15 minutes to install GE’s SmartHQ app, setup the WiFi connection, and make the connection to the Alexa app. The mixer can update its firmware and add more guided recipes and other updates over a WiFi connection – really nice. Using Guided Recipes is easy and fun. A non-cook like me can get much better results with this very smart mixer. I do think this is a very innovative feature that I had never seen before in several other mixers I have had the opportunity to own. A tip of the cap to the design engineers for building this capability into an already awesome mixer.

You will have to enable the correct skills in the Alexa app, but once done the device did understand some commands. Actually, the marketing information on the Alexa (and also Google Home) app relative to voice command is not accurate; you are not capable of total control as the literature states. It is pretty much useless to try and control the mixer with voice commands since you still have to be at the mixer to hit the ‘Start’ button which is safer. Quite honestly the Alexa and cell phone voice controls are not an efficient way to use this device.

The good news is this mixer is very well designed to utilize a very clever interface that makes it simple to operate the device using the provided buttons and speed slide control. It is indeed very smart in that it does have a built in scale and also a timer that can be set to turn the mixer off when the timer ends. There is a nice display on the front to show you the speed, time and weight of ingredients. Another feature that is wonderful is the Auto Sense Technology. The torque is monitored to optimize mixing performance via the very quiet and strong digital brushless DC motor.

Quality is superb. The design arms used to attach the beautiful 7 qt. stainless steel mixing bowl are easy to use and these arms provide a very solid way to attach the bowl. The method to attach the 3 mixing attachments was also well designed; it provides a simple yet effective and even intuitive process to insert and release the attachments – another tip of the cap to the GE engineers. You also get a clear plastic pouring shield that can be inserted while the device is mixing your ingredients. The shield is very easy to insert and remove.

I very highly recommend this super strong, smartly designed and easy to use heavy-duty stand mixer.

This mixer is a beast, it weighs 48 pounds. When I brought it in off the porch I thought I might have mistakenly received two by mistake. I got this for my wife as she loves to make breads, and it looks like a high quality mixer for sure.

The auto sense is great for weighing out the contents of your mix. Everything included with this mixer is well made in my opinion except for the floppy thin plastic splatter cover. I do like how the bowl arms drop down for swapping out mixing attachments as well as for cleaning your mixing bowl.

This has multiple speed setting for easily mixing your ingredients of any dough your mixing for bread or rolls, that will easily power through it all without struggling. The Auto-Sense will tell you the exact weight of the ingredients in the mixers bowl.

If you have Alexa or Google assistant, you can connect this to your wifi and control things like the mixing speed while your hands are full baking a different dish. I’m not into cooking with smart devices, but for multitasking cooks I can see where this comes in handy.

This permanently resides on my counter as it very heavy to transport from a cabinet and to the counter.

  4. PeboQuattro

The GE Profile Smart Mixer with Auto Sense is an innovative, new take on the seemingly timeless kitchen mixer. I know one name comes to mind with kitchen mixers but GE has improved upon what is usually a fairly basic kitchen device.

The Profile mixer features a large 7-qt capacity bowl, an integrated wrap around bowl lift, built in scale, 3 included quick release mixing attachments, and an accessory port for third party attachments. The first thing to note with this mixer is the size. At 17” high, 14” deep, 11” wide, and a hefty 44 lbs, it will likely need a semi permanent spot in your home. Though the size may be expected for a mixer of this capacity, unfortunately our upper cabinetry in our current home limits placement and it is something to keep in mind before purchasing.

Once you setup the device and connect it to the GE SmartHQ app, you can then utilize some of the smart functionality such as Auto Sense. With the provided guided recipes or Auto Sense techniques you can send mixing instructions to the mixer to not only set the speed and duration but it will use feedback from the motor to determine the proper texture and viscosity, impressive! Currently you are limited to the recipes and techniques in the app to utilize this but GE claims to expand on this overtime. Making your own way is still possible and yielded great results as we did with our pumpkin bars or my wife’s chocolate banana bread, a family favorite. The mixer can even weigh ingredients in the mixing bowl as you go or other vessels by placing them on the base. The mixer also has a built-in timer functionality that is thankfully not tied to the app for ease of use out of the box. Though the quick release mixing attachments were a breeze to use, this interface is currently limited to the included beater, hook, and whisk. GE claims they are commercial grade and dishwasher safe, which they are well made and should last the life of the mixer. Though I like the features and functionality of the Profile Smart mixer, I do wish GE offered a slightly smaller model as we tend to not need the large 7-qt capacity.

With kitchen mixers, one brand has become ubiquitous to most homes but the GE Profile Smart Mixer stands out with its new intelligent integrations and also practical innovations making it a great choice.

The future is very bright automated kitchen appliances. Below are my thoughts on the GE Profile Smart Stand Mixer.

    [PROS]

Auto Sensing/Smart Scale: For provided recipes, the auto sensing is pretty remarkable. I love making dough for bread so this has been very useful for me. I’m not great at “eyeing” things and can sometimes second guess myself when comes to the feel of something when stirring. With the Smart Stand Mixer, I’m able to achieve the proper consistency and make sure everything is the correct weight.

Guided Recipes: Having step-by-step instruction is important, but the GE Smart Mixer makes it a fun process by being with you at every moment. I learn best with a hands-on approach, and the app guided me effortlessly in making bread and catching me before I made a mistake. I attempted the Potato Herb Bread Wreath, and I was quite pleased with the results.

Mostly Automated: I’m able to issue commands via Alexa which reduce some manual actions. Unfortunately, you still have to manually start the mixer which is not a big deal given that others settings are already set up.

    [CONS]

Heavy: This mixer is really heavy as in over 40 lbs. It would not be suitable for placement in a cabinet more so because of the weight rather the dimensions.

Attachments: You only have 3 attachments included and the GE website does not provide more. Limited attachments mean limited functionality.

    [CONCLUSION]
I’ve found myself most impressed by the auto-sensing features and the smart scale. Recipe booklets (or in this case digital recipes) can be either be a hit or miss, but I found a few satisfying after a few minor tweaks. Will this replace your Main Mixer? Possibly, depending on your intended purposes. I’m not an expert baker, but this machine has been simple enough to grasp so I would definitely recommend it.

The GE Profile is a very capable mixer even without the Smart features, but factoring those in, it is easily the best mixer I’ve ever used. It is a 7 Quart Stand Mixer that comes with the mixing bowl, whisk, beater, and dough hook attachments as well as a pouring shield. It features a 540 watt brushless motor which promises lower temperature usage for extended lifespan. The standout features, however, are the “Smart” features, which come in a couple different forms. First of all, it has a built-in scale, which allows for weighing ingredients right in the bowl. Second, is Auto-sensing technology which can detect changes in texture to apply the right mixing speed and automatically stop when appropriate. And last is smart-phone connectivity, which allows you to connect to the GE Profile app, which opens up all kinds of integrations.

Just to get this out of the way, as a stand-alone mixer, the GE Profile is amazing. It has more than enough power to tackle all your mixing needs. It is easy to use and is just about what you would expect from a stand mixer. It feels very well-built and I expect it to last a long time.

What really makes this Mixer stand apart from the crowd is the smart features. First of all, the built-in scale is something I never knew I always needed. Adding ingredients right into the bowl and having the weight show up on the screen is just so useful. When you’re done adding one ingredient, you just zero out the scale and start adding the next. It cut down on my measuring and cleanup time since I didn’t need to measure out ingredients into separate little bowls or dishes.

The next smart feature I was a little skeptical of, and didn’t really see the use. It is the smartphone integration. I thought it would be too much hassle and not really add anything above just using recipes out of a book or something. But I was very surprised with how fun and engaging it made everything. I tested it out with a simple chocolate chip cookie recipe, which I quickly searched on the app. The app will literally walk you through step by step, and it was really easy to ffollow along. When it came time to add the ingredients, it automatically set the scale and would tell you how much you’ve added. When it was time to mix, it would automatically start mixing at the correct speed for the correct amount of time. It was all really impressive. And while chocolate chip cookies are very basic and you probably don’t need a guided walkthrough for something like that, I am very excited to try some more complicated recipes or just new recipes I’ve never tried before. Consider me very impressed with something I thought wasn’t going to be very useful.

Overall, I am just very impressed with this mixer. Just as a mixer itself, it is very impressive and well-made and powerful. But add in those smart features and this is easily the best mixer I have ever used, and definitely the most fun. It has reinvigorated my interest in cooking/baking and I am looking forward to using it for years to come.

    SUMMARY
The built in-scale, autosense, and guided recipe features are sure to impress beginner and advanced bakers. The mixer is high quality hardware with a capable slow start motor and the ability to utilize KitchenAid accessories is the icing on the cake.

    DESIGN
The GE profile mixer has an overall modern style that will fit into just about any kitchen. I got the matte black model but it also comes in silver and white, and all of the units have tasteful chrome accents. The entire unit is made of metal so it’s very sturdy and heavy, which is what I would expect from a premium mixer. There are very grippy feet on the bottom of the unit to ensure that it stays firmly in place when mixing. The mixing attachments have a handy quick release mechanism which you simply pull down on to insert or remove an attachment. Importantly, the unit does have an accessory port on the front which is compatible with KitchenAid attachments which is a huge win for anybody who might be heavily invested in the many versatile attachments available.

    CONTROLS
The physical interface consists of the speed dial and control panel on top of the unit in addition to the virtual controls from within the SmartHQ phone app. On the control panel there are options to reverse the direction of the motor, activate and zero out the scale, and set a timer in 15 second increments.

*TIP* Holding down the left or right arrows automatically increases the timer by 1 minute increments until you let go.

After you’ve programmed the time, simply turn the dial to the desired speed and the mixer will start ramping up gracefully to that speed as well as starting the timer which begins counting down on the front screen. If you want to pause for any reason, you can press the middle button and the mixer motor and timer pause which is great because you maintain your place in the mixing cycle as well as the speed that you were operating at. After you have connected the mixer to Wi-Fi and have set it up in the app, you can set timers and speed from within the application. You can’t remotely start the mixer, but you can remotely stop or change the direction of the mixer if it’s already running.

It’s worth noting that the mobile mode is only enabled when it’s selected on the mixer. When operating in manual mode the app doesn’t show the status of the mixer. I’m not quite sure why this is as it seems like with the protections in place that prevent remote control it would be okay to always allow mobile control and status checking regardless of whether the mixer is in the remote-control mode. When the timer ends the mixer will play a loud chime (the volume is controllable in the app) – a nice feature would be to send a notification to the user’s phone as well, especially if the mixer is being remotely controlled, perhaps this could be added in a software update.

    FEATURES
The standout feature that a person of any skill level will be taking advantage of is the built-in scale. You save so much time and extra bowls being able to weigh the ingredients as you add them. Just be careful not to add too much of an ingredient! The scale is accurate to 5 grams so you won’t be measuring smaller ingredients, but this is good enough precision for things like flour, butter, sugar, etc.

The guided recipes are great for a beginner or intermediate cook looking for some inspiration of what to make while also enjoying the benefit of being walked through the recipe ingredient by ingredient. To utilize this feature, you will need to download the app and connect it to your Wi-Fi, but it was super easy and quick. After an update I was ready to go.

So far with the unit I’ve made some dough for Challah as well as some meringue kisses. The Challah mixed well, and the dough hook did a good job incorporating all the ingredients. The motor didn’t struggle making the dough or have any issues making a large batch for two large loafs.

For meringue kisses I tried one of the recipes from the app with the autosense capability. It was super easy to follow along with the directions in the app. When you get to a step that involves weighing an ingredient you can automatically put the mixer into scale mode from your phone. As you add the ingredients you see the number go up and it will chime when you hit the desired amount. After adding all the ingredients, the meringue profile is sent to the mixer and you simply have to tap the middle button on the control panel to start mixing. The idea with autosense is because the motor is digital, the mixer can monitor the feedback/resistance from the motor which represents how thick the mixture is. In the case of the meringue, the egg whites get thicker and eventually the mixer stops automatically after it’s detected that the result is the perfect consistency. While the mixer said it could take up to 10 minutes, it actually did stop early and the egg whites were fluffy and the perfect stiffness. Overall I was impressed with the autosense capability and I’ll be utilizing it in future recipes as well.

The GE Profile mixer is a formidable kitchen appliance. First the stylish look is very modern and looks good on the counter while not in use. Second when you touch it it just plain feels solid and durable.

This is a beast coming in at 50lbs, but its rating for being commercial grade stands up to its claims. It comes with 11 speeds in the mixer as well as a 7Q mixing bowl. It does have some high tech integrated into it to allow you to update and control through the app. It took some time for it to connect and get setup roughly 10-15 minutes.

Whats included besides the beautiful stylish base and stainless steel mixing bowl? 3 mixing attachments! They were very simple and intuitive to take off and on. So for a simple cook like myself it was easy. Additionally cleaning it was super simple as it came right off!

Some highlights of this is that it has a built in scale and has easy presets to press and go through to making its use so much simpler. Days of hunting and trying to figure out what to press and how long- gone.

My conclusion is that it mixed the pancake mix amazingly, super simple and was awesome. I’m excited to make some homemade dough this weekend!

We have had our new GE Profile 7qt mixer for a couple of weeks now and we absolutely love it. My girlfriend is definitely the cook of the household. She also has a lot of experience with cooking and baking thru several jobs over the years in food service industry. She says this is her favorite mixer she has ever used and is a huge upgrade to the mixer we previously had.

Initial impressions after unboxing were all great. First off it’s quite heavy, feels like it weighs 50lbs. The mixer is very clean looking and the carbon black finish is gorgeous. Handling the device gives me a sense of a very precise and well build piece of equipment. I absolutely love how the surface feels. The mixing bowl itself is well designed and solid. Or old mixer was 6qts, this one is just 1 qt more but the bowl is well over twice as heavy as our old one. The way this bowl will lock into place is really solid. While my girlfriend is the one with all the baking experience, I have worked with a lot of heavy machinery and I’m am just so impressed with the precise nature of its construction.

We were impressed before we even turned it on for its first use. As it was a couple of days before my 50th birthday, its first use was to make a cake. A fairly basic test for such an advanced mixer and of course it worked great. What impressed me though was how powerful the machine felt. As days went on and we used it to mix other dough and batters I couldn’t get over how…I’m not even sure of the best words to use here. Just doing basic mixing it felt more powerful, precise and clean in its movements than any mixer I’ve seen in use. Our old mixer on high speed felt like you were reaching the limits of its power. Like the difference of driving a modern EV versus an economy vehicle. Both reach the speed limit on the freeway, but one gets there quicker and smoother and never feels like you are approaching its limit. It has a very powerful and quiet motor.

So it looks amazing, feels very well built and as a mixer it’s awesome. Beyond that, there are many bells and whistles. First off it comes with whisk, beater and dough hook that you see on many mixers. The attachments are solid and well build. There is a plastic cover (the only part of this mixer that doesn’t feel extremely durable) for the bowl they call a bowl shield. Excellent addition I have not seen before. My favorite feature is probably the built in scale. It’s not super precise, but certainly good enough for the ingredients (sugar, flour, etc) that use larger portions. This allows you to weigh your ingredients right in the bowl. It even connects wirelessly to a smart phone via its app. There is a really cool “guided recipes” feature to guide you thru the mixing process and it knows how much you’ve added thru the scale/app synergy. It does a great job of walking you thru step by step of the process. The auto sense tech is interesting as well. I don’t have enough experience to appreciate its value but my girlfriend said it’s awesome. It actively monitors changes in the mixers contents viscosity thru torque feedback and adjusts its speed accordingly to achieve ideal results.

So all in all we love this mixer. For some the weight might be a bit of a hindrance, but if you find it a permanent spot on your kitchen counter that shouldn’t matter. Overall quality is excellent and I expect a long life from this mixer. I would absolutely recommend this mixer to a friend. Well done GE.

The GE Profile smart mixer is a professional level mixer that combines build quality, smart functionality, and great design into to a package that’s sure to please even the most strict of design critics. With the exception of two specific issues I have with the unit, it overall performs very well in a crowded market.

The two issues I have with this mixer were readily apparent from my first interactions with it. For one, it’s obscenely heavy, on the order of 50 pounds. Anyone looking to use this in the capacity of “I’ll take out the mixer when I need it and put it away when I don’t” will be severely disappointed in just how heavy it is, to the extent that my wife had issues moving it at all. If you don’t have the counter space for this unit, I’d suggest you look elsewhere. My other issue with this unit was how difficult it was to pair with my phone. This, frankly, was unexpected, given the “Smart Stand” moniker attached to this blender. For whatever reason, I had a tough time getting it to connect through bluetooth. I eventually got it to connect, but it was far from straightforward, at least in my experience.

With that out of the way, I’ll focus on the positives (and boy there are a lot). Weight aside, the build quality of the main unit and accessories are all great, and relatively easy to clean. To go along with that, the power this mixer has is frankly surprising sometimes. Not once did I have a hint of slowdown, likely owing to the power DC motor. Finally, the smarts on tap here really add to the experience of using the GE Profile mixer. So far, my favorite feature is the built in scale which allows to you to hyper accurately get the mix you’re looking for. This works especially well in conjunction with the recipes available in the app, which walk you through the entire process in an easy to understand way. If you’re looking for inspiration to use your new mixer, the app has it.

Overall, this is a great mixer. The power and build quality give this a feel unlike other mixers I’ve tried, and the Smarts do truly add something here that’s useful. If you want one of the best mixers on the market, consider the GE Profile Smart Mixer.

  11. tripplesix

Overall, this is a good mixer that gets the job done and more.
This is a nice modern machine that is quite large in terms of footprint and bowl — the bowl is 7 oz. Make big batches, y’all!! Also, this mixer is EXTREMELY heavy. It was work getting the box up all my stairs and then getting it out and then placing it where and how I wanted it. Find your counter spot because you are not going to move it. It’s just not happening. That is a downside.

Everything else is cool. It comes with three attachments — a whisk, stirer, the one for dough. You can use the popular brand’s attachments with this so that’s a big plus. It sits stable… it’s literally not moving anywhere. The bowl is placed on two nodules on the arms that hug it. You easily lower and raise the arms as needed. You can actually also adjust the height of the bowl; there is a little thing close to the top, but there is no need. I don’t know how much higher you would need it, being that you don’t want the attachments actually touching the bowl. When using the attachments, put your ingredients in the bowl, put the bowl on the arms, and then attach the attachments by just sticking it in what looks like a short pipe. Give it a twist and nudge to make sure it’s in there. Then raise the arms. There is also a bowl cover made to protect your area from ingredients flying out (like a tv show), although, I have not needed it. There is also a spout on the cover I guess if you need to pour ingredients into the bowl. That’s cool. Moving on up to the top… When the ring is in the middle (above the LCD), it is off. Move the ring to the right for connecting to phone, for stir, for power levels that go up to 11. There is an LCD right there to show you what you need to see. On the top top you have a scale and timer; you also have a reverse, to make the attachment turn in the reverse direction when mixing; you have the right and left arrow to set it. There is a center circle that starts, pauses and stops the mixing.

Also, definitely connect this to your phone via wifi using the app; in order to do updates, see and use recipes, and take advantage of auto sense (as well as other things with other products). Auto sense allows you to just set it and then it knows what consistency is needed and mixes accordingly, and stops accordingly. Cool, right? Yup. Technology is fun.

Oh, wow! I almost forgot to mention the scale (to use the scale, it is up top with timer, reverse and friends). You can weigh directly in the bowl. This is a great addition to this mixer. For me, especially because I would see some recipes in the past that only gives measurements in ounces and I would have to skip it and move on.

It is a great product that obviously works. For some strange reason, when I put the mixer on 4, it would make this consistent high pitch whistle type sound until I either stopped or put it on 3 or lower. I don’t know what that is about. But it is a good product, but if you do not have space for it, it might not be for you because you will not be moving this thing around. You will place it and will have to stay put, due to the excessive weight of it.

I like the mixer and, while I recommend it, you would really need to consider the size, weight and your available space (and by the way, these are the reasons that I knocked off a star).

    Peace.

I have owned a KitchenAid stand mixer for close to 30 years. That was the gold standard mixer at the time. Some would argue it still is.

Yet, time and technology marches on. The GE Profile Mixer could be the new gold standard. It certainly is the most advanced stand mixer that I’ve ever seen.

One minor gripe out of the way – could this have been released in more colors? One of the things that people love about KitchenAid mixers are the amount of amazing colors they come in. Carbon (black), white, and silver just aren’t my jam. My old mixer is biscuit (cream) colored because that is what I liked then. For this review, I received the Carbon version.

When you buy your mixer, no matter if you have it delivered or brought home from the store, I would recommend you having help getting it into the house. The mixer is HEAVY. Plus, the box is extra fortified and is heavy by itself. I want to commend GE for packing it so well. I didn’t have help, so I had to gently turn it end-over-end because it was too much for me to lift, and I couldn’t push it across the floor to where I could unload it.

You can unbox the appliance by yourself, but slowly. It’s a lot to carry. I recommend putting it where it’s going to live and leave it there.

To set up the Smart features, you will need to download the SmartIQ app from your preferred app store. If you already have Smart GE Profile appliances, you probably already have it.

Do you need it to operate the machine? No, but you aren’t getting everything you paid for, either, if you don’t use it.

Setting up on the app was easy. You hit the “add appliance” icon in the upper right corner and follow the instructions.

The number of features it has are mind blowing. It has a built-in scale, so no need to go out and get a scale to measure ingredients. It actually senses when the mixture is the correct texture and viscosity, so no more overmixing. The app has recipes that will walk you through how to make them step-by-step. The top of the mixer has a LED light that will “count down” the mixing time so that you can see when it gets close to being done, even from across the room. This is stuff that I would have NEVER thought of putting in/on a mixer.

It even works with Alexa (or Google Home, if you have that ecosystem). I already had the SmartIQ skill, and the mixer automatically synced with it.

I recently acquired the GE Profile 7 Quart Bowl – Smart Stand Mixer with Auto Sense, and it has quickly become a staple in my kitchen. This appliance has exceeded my expectations in several key areas, making it a remarkable addition to my culinary toolkit.

First and foremost, the build quality is impressive. The mixer feels sturdy and well-constructed, which instills confidence in its longevity. It can handle even the most demanding mixing tasks without wobbling or feeling flimsy.

Performance-wise, the GE mixer is a powerhouse. Its motor is robust and provides consistent, reliable power. From whipping cream to kneading bread dough, this mixer tackles a wide range of tasks with ease. I particularly appreciate the various speed settings, which allow for precise control over the mixing process, ensuring that ingredients are perfectly incorporated.

What sets this mixer apart is its versatility. It comes with a selection of attachments that make it suitable for various kitchen applications. The included mixing bowl is a decent size, and the splash guard prevents messy accidents. The attachment swapping is straightforward, and the appliance itself is easy to clean. Also GE knows who the biggest competitor is in this space, therefore kitchenaid attachments are compatible with this mixer.

The noise level is relatively low for a mixer of this caliber, which is a pleasant surprise. You won’t have to endure an earsplitting racket while using it, making for a more pleasant cooking experience.

One minor drawback is that it’s slightly bulkier than some other mixers on the market, so it may require a bit more storage space. However, the overall performance more than compensates for this small inconvenience.

On MAJOR drawback is that the stainless steel bowl rusted along the rim of the bowl even though the user manual stated the bowl is dishwasher safe. GE immediately sent out a replacement bowl which also rusted along the rim of the bowl after being placed in the dishwasher. Most importantly, and as a result of my testing, GE reached out and said they got in Touch with their stainless steel bowl supplier and will be changing the polishing process to make sure the bowls do not rust. I was sent a third bowl which has a higher polish finish along the rim and it has not rusted after three bouts in the dishwasher. GE is standing behind their product which is good to see! If you are having the rusting issue, reach out and they will get it squared away.

In summary, the GE mixer has proven to be a reliable and versatile kitchen companion. Its impressive build, powerful motor, and range of attachments make it a fantastic addition to any home kitchen. If you’re looking for a mixer that can handle a variety of tasks with ease and precision, this is a solid choice.

Growing up, I remember the holidays and having my mother whip up some mashed potatoes with the help of her trusty mixer. She would use the mixer often with many baking needs. However, the GE Smart Stand Mixer with Auto Sense is nothing like my mother’s old mixer. This is the mixer to end all mixers.

When you pick up the box (if you can pick up the box), you can tell this is not a normal mixer. This thing is heavy. The box probably weighs nearly forty pounds. While it is quite sturdily made and durable enough to handle any kitchen job, it could be dangerous if you dropped it on yourself, your small child, or a pet. With all of that aside, this is built to last.

The GE Smart Mixer is amazing. Setting it up is a little more time consuming than most mixers. One of the obvious this is connecting it to the Smart HQ app. It takes about 10 minutes to set it up, but it is well worth it. With the app, I can control this mixer (or other compatible appliances); however, I have become a much better chef than I would be without it. The app contains many recipes that I never would have thought of otherwise. And without this mixer, I doubt I would even be able to make any of these recipes. Mixing things in a bowl with brute force and a spoon or even a handheld mixer is no comparison to this device. This has become my go to baking assistant.

The features available on this device make it a must for any serious kitchen. First off, the mixer can weigh your ingredients. This makes for perfect proportions in your recipes. The step-by-step guide makes sure that your mixes come out consistent and correct each time. The mixer also has a timer you can use to make sure you mix for the exact amount of time required. I think my favorite feature is the auto sense technology. This feature allows the mixer to sense how much the ingredients are mixed. It makes sure the viscosity is consistent throughout the batter. If you need it smooth and runny, the mixer will mix it down to the thickness you need. It is perfect. There is even a nice, clear display for feedback on what you are doing.

Like I mentioned earlier, this mixer is built to last. All the parts are solid and well put together. The stainless-steel removable parts are dishwasher safe. The brushless motor is made to run at extended periods of time without overheating. This mixer is solid enough to use for everyday baking. While I wouldn’t start a cookie business baking hundreds of cookies a day, week after week, year after year, this will handle any baking needs in the home.

As far as performance goes, this is the best and most capable mixer built for the home that I have ever used. However, I could see a couple of potential issues with it. As stated, this mixer is quite heavy. It is also roughly 18 inches tall. If you have counter overhang, you may need to check and see if you have space to place it on a counter for use. Also, if you plan to store the mixer when it is not in use, you may need to check and see if it will fit in your cabinets or other area.

In the end, I can not say enough good things about this mixer. It has made me a much better cook than I could have imagined. If you want to get the most out of your cooking and baking, I highly recommend the GE Smart Stand Mixer with Auto Sense. It may be the best mixer for the home out today.

I’ll start with what I don’t like first. Our kitchen counters are generally clutter-free with very new things left out. We just built a new kitchen and one of the coolest features of our kitchen is the mixer lift cabinet. When it’s time to use, open the cabinet, pull the mixer up and our with little effort and it’s right at the counter with little effort. Everything is plugged in and ready to go. I knew the GE Profile mixer was heavier so I adjusted the springs on the lift to support the additional weight, placed the mixer on the lift and when I went to put it away – it didn’t fit!!! It was too wide AND too tall. No amount of repositioning was gonna fix it either. I looked at how I could possibly make it work and in the constraints of our cabinets it wasn’t happening.

But, here’s why it’s going to stay.

The GE Profile mixer is big and heavy because it’s powerful. This is truly a monster and didn’t miss a beat no matter what we tried. We use our mixer for grinding meat and our old mixer would sometimes struggle and start to smell a little hot after long sessions. The GE kept going.

Time to make some dough! Using the stainless bread hook to kneed the dough, I set the mixer on the lowest speed and just let it go. I found the controls easy to use and the mixer isn’t any louder (or quieter).

What sets the GE mixer apart from others is the built-in scale. Admittedly, I’m a measure by volume not by weight type of casual baker. Knowing that in baking, it’s preferred to weigh ingredients this will take time to adjust, but at least I don’t have to buy another kitchen gadget.

The GE mixer also comes with an app that you pair with your phone and it will guide you through recipes – complete with weights, speed settings and timers. It also includes a searchable recipe database to help inspire your next creation.

One thing I wasn’t able to find is the GE uses the same attachments so if you already have a meat grinder or pasta maker they’ll still work with the GE Profile mixer.

With the holiday baking season coming up I’m excited to see how this performs. I’m really disappointed that I didn’t consider the size, but it’s definitely replacing our other mixer that’s served us well for over 20 years. Also, my wife has given me a new role in the kitchen as the “mixer lift”.

I would like to give this a good review but the Bluetooth was not working. This was a gift for my daughter and she really like all the Features this mixer had to offer but when she try to hook up the Bluetooth it would not hook up. She called GE and they try to help her but told her just to return it to Best Buy , which she did and they order hef a new one. Hopefully with this new one everything will work andvwe can give a good review. By the way it is heavy so don’t expect to be moving it to different areas much.
