    This GE – Profile Series 36″ Built-In Gas Cooktop in Stainless steel has added beauty to our kitchen. Love the five bunners and best of all it has lighted control knobs which stay on while the gas is on now you can’t forget to turn the burners off.

    The griddle should have been left open oven the burners for the round bottom pans and pots for Asian recipes. Otherwise, this is a good upgrade for that price range.

    Have had this cooktop almost a month now and so far really love it. Knobs that light up when the flame is on is a great feature but be careful of the knobs as they will scratch easily (mine are fine so far). The BTU’s are great; water boils much quicker than my last cooktop which was a GE Profile almost fifteen years old. I purchased the optional griddle, which I really wanted but am not as impressed with that (don’t hate it but so far don’t really love it – still trying to get a good seasoning on it) – I’ll review separately. I have the 7036 stainless but wanted to mention that the 9036 stainless has a cutout in cooktop in drip pan area around the knobs that I really dislike; the 7036 is totally enclosed in drip pan.

    BTUs in a cooktop makes a big difference and this cooktop is truly awesome when cooking. I love how the knobs light up to let you that the burner is on.

    I replaced my Dacor with the GE. Installation was easy and straight forward. Size fit perfectly, it had a smaller footprint than other brands. Enjoy the 5 burner, old one had 4.

    Very happy with our purchase. This GE – Profile Series 36″ Built-In Gas Cooktop looks great and works perfectly. Seems very sturdy, burners light easily. Looks perfect on our new kitchen countertops.

    We just refinished our kitchen so this Profile Stove Top replaced an existing 13 year old Profile Stove Top. Although the stove top looked modern it’s construction was no where near the quality of the original. The biggest difference we could see was the composition of the stainless steel. It’s Surface composition is much softer than the older model, thus scratched easily. The stove top functions perfectly but the integrity doesn’t compare to the older model.

    The flames on all burners are too high/hot
    Small pots are not stable on portions of the grate when not filled

    Previously had a GE Profile Gas Cooktop that worked so well for over 18 years. Loved the features of this new GE Profile 36-inch Gas Cooktop: appearance and layout of the burners and control knobs. BTUs match or exceed so many other brands. Knobs have a backlight which is great to have. An added bonus is that it fit PERFECT into the existing space and even went matched with the existing hood!

    This was installed in my new home construction 2 years ago. Within the first year the finish was peeling off the plastic knobs. Expected a little more from this product than having to replace after 2 years because it looks horrible. It cooks OK though. Feel it should be a bit better for the price. Seems more like a sub $900 Cooktop

    Waited months for this particular cooktop as I wanted the lights under the knobs when on. I think it is a great feature. Sadly not the same quality stainless as in the previous one and the same manufacturer. The grates are solid and heavy, and will stand up to a lot of use.

    We could not be happier with this purchase. It sleek looking and very sturdy. The grates are heavy and do not sag in any way. The burners easily startup and actually adjust perfectly! I would also recommend the griddle attachment! It makes incredible pancakes!

    There are a lot of crevices to clean and everything get dirty so easily. But no issues with the functionality so far

    It is solid, i am happy.

    The knobs are as high as grates, so there is concern of hot pots melting them.

    One burner if turns to low low, turns off.
