Cooktop works fine. Reason for the two stars is for the design. The cooktop does not sit flat on the counter. It bows in the front where the knobs are and in the back corners despite the installers using more straps to strap it down. This is the second one put in out of the box and it does the same as the first. It doesn’t look good from the front and because of the bowing it will allow food particles and such to get under the cooktop. Should probably give it 1 star.

I had a GE gas cook-top for 10 years and it was time to replace it. i got another GE cook-top and it was a perfect fit. My wife was already cooking on it in less than an hour of installation.

OK Overall good product BUT when you boil a pot of water on the middle burner, the grates turn hot red like ready to melt or to be forged . We contacted GE cares and are waiting for a reply .
Is this a defective metal issue and or a safety issue. We had a 5 burner Thermador cooktop before and had no problem whatsoever. This one came with the new home model we purchased 8 mos ago . The builder referred us to GE. SEE PIC BELOW.

Great service from the installers. Product fit perfect! Unfortunately, one of five burners didn’t work. Replacement to arrive in May. Long wait cannot help.
