We purchsed this unit and installed it last August. Whenever the largest burner or the combination of at least 2 small burners were on high, the unit will shut off by itself without tripping the circuit breaker. The phenomenon takes from 3-7 min to occur. We tried name brand cookware. It didn’t work. Imagine that you have to start the burner every 3-7 min when you are cooking!! We have called technician from Best Buy and GE. So far, we’ve had four appointments. The technicians from both best buy and GE have replaced the control unit and the glass top. Nothing worked. No error code is given. We paid out of pocket and hired a electrician to make sure that our wires can handle the large power output. It is a faulty unit. When I call GE and asked if other consumers have the same issue, the rep declined that he knew any data about it. I would stay away from this cooktop if you decide to buy induction.

Purchased for kitchen remodel. Changed to induction for better cooking. Quick, even cooking, and Easy clean up.

Biz was extremely helpful. Made my shopping experience very pleasant.
Patti –
Induction cooktop with bridging to allow use with a griddle.
ARTIE968 –
We replaced a old GE electric cooktop with this induction model because we ordered new GE slate appliances and the black finish of this matched better. Works very well and coordinates nicely with the slate finish. Only complaint is we had to purchase new pots and pans because our others weren’t magnetic.

I chose this make and brand after reseaching on line. This unit has a
4.7 point rating out of 5.
Limi –
Cooking just got easier and quicker! Really great product, boils water/soups in less than a minute, easy to use. Love the ability to sync the burners.
Tresasurehorse –
I am really enjoying our new induction stove top. Cooking is much faster than both gas and electric and it responds instantly to any changes that are made in cooking temperatures. It was a very good decision to go with induction.
Armtek –
Moving to a new house, we decided to replace the ‘included’ appliance with new ones and with research we selected this unit for the replacement cooktop. Induction was our choice as being new grandparents, it would only be a matter of time where little hands would be able to reach the cooktop, and induction makes things a little safer.
Mfran –
Almost bought the Whirlpool similar style but salesperson said if you like to cook and have a working stove top for years to come, buy the GE. So glad we did. Had the same one in our old house- so user friendly, great safety features, and I love the griddle option!

I have owned both electric and gas stovetops and this was my first induction stovetop. We had to adjust our pots and pans because they need to have magnetic bottoms but the reduced cooking times and easily and precisely controlled cooking temperatures were worth it. The biggest bonus comes when cleaning the stovetop. With no protruding knobs to get in the way or drip pans to collect mess, it is as easy to clean as a glass tabletop. I wholeheartedly would recommend this stovetop to anyone!!
BBTrouble –
I love my induction cook top. Works quick to heat. Need induction cookware but well worth New cookware. Easy to wipe up spills with out being burned. Cools down quicker n it’s safer
Jeanrobby –
Love this new cook top! Great for any type of cooking!
JDUmp –
This is our first experience with induction. It’s not inexpensive, but we’re very impressed with the technology. It’s amazing how quickly things heat up. The heat is much more even and consistent than the old electric cooktop. Cleaning is much easier as well since the heat comes from the pots/pans and not the burners. The controls are a bit touchy, but we’re still getting used to them.
Jjenik –
Love this! Had to figure out what pots and pans still worked and which i had to get rid of but once I did all was GREAT!
Mark –
It works great. Much better than electric stove top.
DG13 –
Love this cooktop – induction is amazing and it’s easy to use.
ewb1991 –
Easy setup and install. Works great! Boiled a big pot of water in 6 minutes on first use.
Lonnie –
If you like induction cooktops then this is a great choice.
gnfern –
We love how fast it brings water to a boil. Still getting used to cooking with it since it stops cooking as soon as you turn it off, but on the plus side, no hot spots to burn yourself. Just know that if you have a 30 amp double breaker in your electrical panel, you will need to get a 40 amp double breaker for this cooktop. It is not a big deal to change, but it is good to know before installation.
frmrarmy –
Very easy to use and replaced prior cook top in existing opening.
Renovation234 –
This is my first induction cooktop, Love how fast it boils the water, You have too get use to of it heating pattern for cooking .Touch panel is little annoying it keeps turning on and off burner while cleaning . You have to get use to it.
Over all good addition to my kitchen and great cooktop if you want to get use to induction cooking.
Spartacus –
The GE Profile cooktop heats up water to a boil very fast! No more waiting forever to boil eggs or cook noodles. It’s also very simple to clean off. So far I’m really enjoying it.
Martitarnowski –
I took out an older upscale gas cooktop and replaced it with this induction unit. It was more complicated than I expected as I had to have a new electrical line run to the kitchen island, and the gas had to be capped off, but it was so worth it! I love the responsiveness of the controls and the range of settings. You can go very very low for slow simmers and very high for browning, much more flexibility than the old gas cooktop. And it is so easy t keep clean!
Seektruth7 –
With the correct invection pans, this stove cooks very quickly and evenly. Love the sleek look and the ease of installation.
StillNoCooktop1 –
Our first cooktop as recommended by Bestbuy specialist did not fit cutout. Needed to order second cooktop, wait some more to have it installed again. Overall, we were without stove for almost 2 months because of specialist error. Do your own research on what cooktop will fit your cutout.
Harbourcacher –
Ordered this to replace our older induction cooktop. This is top of the line, easy to clean glass surface. Food doesn’t cook on because the burner surface doesn’t get that hot. More responsive then electric cooking. Faster then gas. It is all good.
frowley –
This is the best option if you do not have a gas top.
fierval –
Love this cooktop. Top of the line, heats and cools down very quickly easy to maintain.
BestBuy contractor was unable to install it, I don’t recommend using their service as they may very well not be equipped to do it correctly if the coutertop cutout is wider than the cooktop or some other customization is required for it to look nice.
MRK420 –
Really like the appearance and ease of cleaning of this cooktop. It’s the first induction cooktop that we owned and induction cooking has been everything that it’s advertised to be. Heat up fast and surface is only warm when you take the pot off of the burner.
John –
Induction cooktop heats very quickly.
Used in location over drawer due to low profile.
Safety features such as auto turn off when cookware is removed from the surface.
Kellie –
I love the sleek look of this stovetop. I also don’t have to wait long for water to boil. It will boil water in just a few minutes. It cleans easy as well.
Blink –
Would buy again…. back order from GE For 3 months sucked though!
Mrthink –
Very slick design, laying flat on top of the counter. The heating elements are very precise and easy to control. Also very easy to clean with Cerama Bright polish. All-in-all, this was a great investment.
JimS –
We’ve only had it for two weeks, but so far we love it. The only complaint I had was the minimal users guide (a single, folded sheet). Fortunately, the GE Profile website had a more complete and better organized document. Had to replace a couple of old favorite sauce pans, but everything else was fine.
Ziggy47 –
for this induction range I had to change all the pans and still some do not work on it. But the water boils very quickly, that’s the only advantage
Cookwareflaw –
Only issue is how sensitive the switches are and the stove can’t detect revere ware with copper bottoms. Cleared out half my cookware as useless.
Barbara –
We change out our gas stove for this induction stovetop. We love it. Heats up quickly & without the gas smell and environmental damage
LaurieM –
Love it, and I swore I would never use anything but gas.
ChitaMulholland –
Stopped working after a few months. Will not replace! Only will repair. Defective model as since been discontinued!
Dissatisfied –
Product does not work with valid cookware, and GE tech support refuses to acknowledge any fault or provide any way to resolve the issue. BestBuy tech support attempted repairs and now, due to the faulty product, it works worse than before, but GE still claims that nothing can be done (despite the obvious reduction in usability even now).
Dareina –
This stove top is excellent for cooking and is much quicker preheating cookware than gas or electric. Love it!
QUEEN –
When you spent $2k on a major kitchen appliance, you hope it will function as expected, and at the very least- have an adequate warranty to cover issues or decent customer service to troubleshoot. We bought our new STOVE and it’s now 1 and half years old. Doesn’t work properly since day one. The geek at best but are helpless since installation. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this particular model to anyone.
