    Only had the Microwave for a couple of months. So far, this model of the GE microwave is wonderful, and I love the fan in it. Really helps to keep the kitchen cooler. And, very easy to clean.

    I love the sensory feature. Just press the number 5 for instance and it automatically starts cooking for 5 minutes. No need to press desired amount of time and then start.

    Works great!! Because it doesn’t have a handle it looks huge. My kids keep breaking the handle, so I love it. It cooks everything well and is not as noisy as some others.

    The microwave works great and heats evenly. The round plate seems too big for the unit. The stainless steel design attracts fingerprints every time you open or close the door.

    I bought this microwave because it received a high rating from Consumers Report magazine. It fits perfectly in the space between my upper cabinets above the stove. It has a sleek, flat front as opposed to other models that have a handle that protrudes out from the door.

    Bad design flaw coming into focus , can this be repaired and is it worth it to fix
    Unit is 5 years old
    Do new units have same flaw with cable placement?

    The auto cook features work really well and the unit is very large. The door is so big you have to take a step back to dodge it as it opens. The user interface is a little unintuitive too, which I don’t like, but I do prefer the buttons for OTR microwaves across the bottom like this one. The vents are a little too far back for my taste but they do offer high volume at 400 CFM which works well. Ours however failed after 18 months. The Geek Squad came out to diagnose it and determined that the megatron failed. Best Buy stood behind the product with the Total Tech and replaced it without hesitation. The lead time was a little too long for an identical replacement, otherwise we would have gotten the exact same model, but Bwst Buy got the full amount we paid to be applied to another unit. All Best Buy employees from the phone support (two different ones) to the field tech were amazing to work with.

    Bought this one in 2017. After having a Frigidaire with no sensor cooking and a handle that broke off for 7 years i wanted a really nice microwave that would last. I really expected to get 10+ years out of it but after 6 years i went to thaw out meat and breaker tripped instantly. Reset it and tried again. Reset instantly again. Got an extension cord and tried a different outlet. Lasted 3 seconds made a horrendous electrical clicking sound and died all together. Completely bricked. After not even 6 years. Never buying GE ever again!

    Enjoying this microwave with the buttons on the bottom. Love the modern stream line look! Works great and heats in a flash! Would definitely recommend the GE Profile microwave. Pairs well with my other GE profile appliances.

    This microwave is sleek, works great when it works – I bought it summer of 2019 to specifically match my GE Profile oven.

    It broke almost immediately after we bought it. It was repaired under warranty but took almost 3 months and they sent prob 15 diff parts to my home to try and fix it, multiple GE repair men came out.

    Finally fixed it, all good. Then completely broke in summer of 2023 only 4 years later. I consulted with an honest professional licensed repair man & he told me after parts and labor this would be a $500-$600 repair and not even worth it. So great – I’m already replacing it after only 4 years. Loved it, but totally disappointed in the longevity.

    Loving the microwave. The light under the microwave. Not so much. We just had this installed Tuesday 8/22/23. We’ve used it several times. I have not yet used the light under the microwave…until tonight. From my many uses of microwaves (40 yrs old), not much thought went into that light unless it just wasn’t working. Tonight I turned it on to make pasta sauce and needed extra lighting that I was thrilled to use. Until I just went to sneak a bite of crumbl Cookie before bed. I put the cookies inside to hide from prowling pets at night as I normally do. Under light had been on since dinner, again NEVER had an issue leaving light on under microwave before and this was probably 5 hours since cooking. I opened the microwave and thought dang that’s super warm inside. Looked at the cookies. And numerous cookies with the chocolate were melting as if straight from the oven. I touched the plate inside microwave and it was hot. Touched under microwave and it was scorching. Immediately turned the light off. I’m super concerned. Thank god I decided to be glutinous. Otherwise lord knows what could’ve happened over night to my family and pets. Upset doesn’t begin to explain it.
    And this is a brand new purchase. Again 40 years old have never ever encountered something like this. Ridiculous. I’ll be contacting Best Buy in the morning to address other issues with scratches on the brand new GE Profile fridge and for the brand new GE Profile Dishwasher that was installed with a good inch gap between it and the counter top. Still waiting on the range. And this is on top of being on the phone for hours dealing with deliveries being canceled or postponed. Was supposed to hear back after delivery team (who were amazing) reported the scratches on fridge before 48 hours. Past that time now. Dishwasher I’ll take part blame bc I didn’t notice the mounting before they left as I wasn’t looking flush with the appliance just straight down.

    This is an updated version of this microwave. We had the previous version and the Magnatron went bad. My only issue is the buttons on the door are now harder to press and the interior cooking area has been reduced slightly. The observation window is also smaller. Other than that, it cooks at about 1000 watts.

    A bit disappointed with my purchase. When the surface light is on, even if it’s on low, it causes the microwave oven to overheat. The glass, covering the light, which is not LED, became so hot, it burned my hand. Not a great design.

    I wouldn’t have purchased this if I realized there were no buttons for melting or softening butter. Nor does it have buttons for heating water or milk like my previous Cafe appliance.

    Broke after less than 2 years. The price to repair is the same as buying a new one. I’ll switch brands now because I don’t want to reward GE for making a low-quality low-durability product.
    Not super surprising because I noticed early on that the door handle started to peel – it’s not stainless steel, just plastic with a thin silver colored sticker over it.

    It’s fine, but it seems to me unnecessarily complicated. Have not done a deep dive into the instructions to find out all it can do. I gave it four stars on performance only because I am not sure all it does but it does cook. Cook settings are too complicated-need then pamphlet to get know what all the buttons do.

    This over the range microwave looks great and I love the sleek look without a door handle. Pair it with a GE oven and they work great together – auto turning on the vent when the stove is turned on.

    I bought the unit online to replace an existing unit. The model number online did not match exactly the model number on the unit. The unit was 3/4″ less in height. Mounting bracket and dimensions were different than the previous unit I bought from GE. There is an additional number in the model number on the unit but not shown on Bestbuy’s website.

    I expected this microwave to heat the food better than my last GEProfile of 20 years. I have to increase the heating time. Sometimes its ok other times not so ok. Maybe because it has more sensors.
