Items start cooking on the range very fast. Have to keep reminding ourselves that it is the pan/pot that is cooking and not the range surface. Unless bringing something to a boil, best to start at medium-to-low and adjust accordingly.
The convection oven is great. But whether baking with or without convection, it takes much longer for the oven to come to the set temperature. Plan accordingly!
We ordered and installed the “Stovetop Extender SE24BLA Oven Gap Guard” (Amazon, package of two) to fill the side gaps between the range top and granite top (left and right sides)…these fit perfectly. Not sure why GE doesn’t offer something like these since they’ve discontinued the ceramic overlapping surface (overlaps the countertop) in favor of only the slide-in range.
Not sure we want to hook this range up to my router (wifi enabled)…don’t need it to be hacked 🙂
Mike –
This range / oven has a nice contemporary look with the smooth control panel and lack of knobs.
The induction range takes a little getting used to if using for the first time. It is important to remember that it is the pan/pot heating up and not the range burners. It is best to start on low-to-medium.
The oven is a combination convection / no convection baking, and takes a bit more time to get to the preset temperature, so plan accordingly.
I think the built-in wifi is something to avoid and I have not enabled it. The last thing I need hacked is my range/oven.
I ordered magnetic strips from Amazon to cover the small gap between the sides and my granite countertops… works perfectly.
All in all, this was an excellent purchase and a joy to cook with.

I love the wifi feature! The convection on this oven is the best I’ve used, love the induction top!
Suzy –
I love this stove. The cooktop is amazing. It is very responsive and the controls are easy to use. I seriously considered changing to a gas range, but after reading the reviews of the induction cooktop, I deciided to purchase this one. The oven also works well and cooks evenly. GE is also offering a cookware set from Chantel. The new pans arrived a couple weeks ago and are wonderful to use. I am very happy.
Pls1994 –
First time user. I think it will be just fine. Wife wanted to try an induction range.
DebB –
We have wanted an induction range for several years. Prices have come down and we finally decidedl to buy it. This is an awesome range and instantly changes temp, much like gas but better. Low temps are easier with induction than gas. We love cooking again!
Averagegeek –
It takes some getting used to, especially with the speed at which heat picks up. Its a great product.
brent –
easy to clean, efficient operations, great design
make sure you have induction friendly cookware
BDfriend –
I really like the induction stove. Heats fast and evenly. No worry oven,
C0recollector –
Install was very simple, it fit within the rough in specs and the glass top is very easy to clean and maintain. It even had wifi/wireless remotre control capabilities from an app on my phone!
AzaW –
We’d been looking at induction ranges for a while, so, when our oven started acting up….
We chose this model because it seemed to be highly rated overall, yet the price at Best Buy on sale was reasonable.
It is easy to use. The controls are intuitive. Love the responsiveness: heats fast and when it’s turned down, it happens “now”. Those who haven’t used induction will be amazed at how fast it can boil water. cThat said, we had to get used to having the “burners” turn off when we pick up pans to swirl things for more than a second or two.
Some people are bothered by the slight noise that induction cooking can make. Unless the kitchen is deserted, we hardly notice it.
The oven heats quickly and cooks/bakes beautifully.
Haven’t used the app for remote operation yet, but others may find it useful.
One suggestion for new owners: cookware matters. The set that is full tri-ply works much better than the pieces that are magnetic only on the base. And, if you prefer non-stick (say, for a griddle), the choices will be limited and expensive.
Finally, kudos to the delivery team. We were the last stop of the day. They arrived in the window. It was a bit of a difficult install and it took a bit longer than expected. Still, they were very professional and didn’t mention the hour. They took the old range with them and left the kitchen in the same condition that they found it.

I just recently bought this induction stove and I’m extremely happy based on its performance
Fuzzy –
We wanted an induction range and are learning how to use it.
There are some issues in trying to use induction but in time we will learn
Frank –
Love the induction. It does however make a clicking sound which makes me question if it is working properly. Easy to clean. I have a pan that has warped…will not longer work on the stove top.
recommend –
Like the element placement on the cook top. The only issue would be that it is hard to clean off the control panel without turning them on. But I do like the ease and amount of control. So far, think it’s great.
annie –
I have always used gas stoves. In my current condo, the only option was electric. I hated the cooktop. This stove has an induction top and it works as well as gas-when the tea kettle whistles and I turn off the burner, it stops whistling-it is that fast. Once I tried to turn on the wrong burner (one without a pot on top) and it refused to turn on-a safety feature I did not know about. The regular oven bakes evenly and accurately. When preheating, it tells you what the temperature is and when it is at the proper temperature. I have not yet used the convection oven.
Raygap –
We are super happy about this purchase! Everything about it is wonderful. We replaced a duel fuel unit. This is faster and more responsive than gas. The technology is fantastic. Cleaning the stove top is a breeze. Since the burner is in the back of the oven there is more room inside. It has a modern clean look.
SueBee –
Ordering, Delivery & Installation went smoothly. I love the induction cooktop – the precise adjusting of temperature is just like using a gas stove. Settings are easy to understand. Traditional Oven setting takes just as long to preheat as my old electric. Haven’t used the Convection setting yet. Cooktop surface doesnt retain water drop stains, however sauce/greasy drops required cleaning with Ceramabryte. The control panel also needs separate cleaning for fingerprints/spills – must use water with soap or vinegar to clean. I’m happy with the appliance, just wary of the amount of clean up required to keep the cooktop looking decent.
Misscat –
Love this range. Stovetop is a dream even heat and is hot super fast
Moises –
Top quality product. Elegant. Modern.
Food takes less time to cook, as compared with gas range.
Very easy to clean.
Sunshine11 –
The range works very well. It looks good and is easy to clean.
Hanaumabakery –
This stove is a surprise bc it’s better than gas. It heats the pots/pans so quickly. Glass top is easy to clean. There is nothing I don’t like about it. The oven is big and baked well.
BUBS –
I couldn’t see this stove in person so I took a chance on it. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. Good quality stove.. The main screen could of been color, but I guess the “old style” type screen is easier to use and see (see pic). GE could of used thicker gauge stainless for the storage drawer. (It’s paper thin (24 gauge at best). The oven door sort of soft closes so it doesn’t slam like my last stove and the light turns when you open it. The top of the stove is black as well as are the touch screen controls (see pic). It is a bit difficult to keep it from smudging however. Stove is a slid in unit but the edges of the stove don’t extend over the counter and there are no pieces that they sell that can do this (see pic with the spoon between the gap). With that being said, if you spill something onto the glass, it can run down the side of stove and cause a real mess. Changing the microwave next, but I ended up getting the Whirlpool with convection. I really didn’t like the GE one with convection since it felt and looked very cheap. I guess I will just debadge the microwave so the Whirlpool name is staring me in the face. It would be nice if GE made a microwave the matches the stove in quality and looks. Anyway, the stove boils water extremely fast, simmers very well and in general works great. The geek quad is excellent—professional—clean and courteous.
Grandmamary –
Works great. Second induction range we’ve owned. Won’t go back to regular range. Heats pan fast, but leaves range top cool.
disappointed –
Beautiful stove with easy to use controls.
Did not readily fit in location where old stove came out. The installers did not know how an induction stove top works. Spent 15 minutes trying to check th burners by turning them on and holding their had above the burner. No heat until you put a steel pan on the burner.
techguy76 –
I have now owned two induction ranges. This is by-far the best. Very fast boil, quick convection oven…even includes an integrated meat thermometer for the oven. Wonderful unit!
Anna80 –
Easy to use and easy to clean. I like the design as well.
Tmoney77 –
We have had it for about a month, heat is fast and even. Surprised that we like it as much as we do.
Spanky –
This is an induction cooktop. You will need compatible cookware. Heats up quick and maintains temperature well. Oven fan is very quiet.
TracyD –
I’m an experienced home cook and this is the best stove/oven I’ve ever used. My meals are cooked to perfection with the induction stove. I love how the touch controls are so responsive and precise. I love how the bottoms of pans heat to the same temperature and I don’t have to move food around to get even browning! The oven heats spot-on and I’m measuring it with a new thermometer! No hot spots detected so far. Icing on the cake is that my small kitchen no longer is hot when I use my stove; my kitchen towel over my shoulder no longer gets singed when I’m cooking because no more flames coming up the sides of the pan. If you need a new stove, take the plunge on induction – you won’t regret it. It’s everything they say it is!
Demurph –
I do like this dishwasher but the controls are a little confusing. Definitely a learning curve
George –
Okay ladies and Gents. I’ve had this unit for a year and here is my review of it.
Induction is awesome! We had a gas stove and decided it was time to make the switch. If you do a lot of tossing of the food in the pan where the pan comes off the cook surface a lot, stick to gas. When you remove the pan from the cooktop the safety feature triggers after a second and turns off. Safety feature. The surface is easy to clean and if you are a messy cook I would recommend cleaning after any heavy cooking because you do not want to place any of you’re induction friendly pots and pans on the dirty cooktop because it will stain/discolor the surface and water will do that as well. make you sure never put a wet pot on directly on your induction surface. Always wipe down the surface of the pot coming in contact with the stove. If there is any splashes of say oil wipe it all up before placing your pots on it. If your pots are not induction friendly keep in mind you will need to drop money for it. Cast-iron pots and pans work great!
I recommend Cerama Bryte cooktop cleaner (paste clean takes off all the gunk) and cerama bryte touchups (spray for inbetween clean up.) I buy mine from amazon. you can use a paper towel or microfiber towel to clean up.
Another key feature, the lock button for the controls. EVERY UNIT SHOULD HAVE THIS! but they don’t. We use the lock button so our son doesn’t play with the buttons and turn on the oven or stove. The other nice thing about it is, when you are cleaning up the touch panel which you will from splashes from oil etc. you should lock the panel so as you wipe you don’t turn everything on. The lock button activates/deactivates when you hold the button down for 3 seconds.
What I fear…
The oven is like any other. Convection oven just has a fan where it circulates the air for even cooking not thing special. you’re mainly buying this for the induction stove.
My brother has the same unit just 1 gen older. His panel did go out after 3 yrs which I hope doesn’t happen to me. The panel went out and they were unsuccessful in troubleshooting. Keep in mind he did buy the extend warranty, but unfortunately it kicked the bucket not too long after the warranty ended. He ended up buying another brand. Once mine goes out I will update.
anyway, I hope this helps and good luck!

I have had this range for a year now. I really wanted an induction cooktop, and this one delivers. I also like the looks of this unit. It came with a set of free cookware which was shipped and arrived very quickly from Houston. Even though it is a slide in, it is more like a stand alone than some slide ins. I bought GE because of reliability ratings from Consumer Reports. I haven’t had a second of trouble and don’t expect to for a long time. I would highly recommend this range if you’re looking for an induction range.
StPeteBch –
Enjoy the induction and safety of not turning on unless pan on burner.
Nana –
I cook with gas not electric! When I didn’t have gas at our new home a friend who has induction recommended it to me Now I’m a believer!
I84Tomatoes –
We have been using this for for about 6 weeks or more. The induction cooktop works great and is so much faster to cook with.It used to take our last cooktop forever to get water to boil but this happens so quickly with this. The convection oven cooks so evenly and made perfect cookies with 3 cookie sheets at once .We did have to buy new pots to use as ours were not Magnetic but ours were old anyway and new ones are so nice.
Mjg5545 –
I exchanged my KitchenAid induction ranges e for the GE because the KitchenAid oven would not cook on the convection cycle. I am pleased with the oven on this e GE range but the cooktop is inferior to the KitchenAid range.
Bestbuybuyer90 –
I love this stove. Everything cooks so much faster and even. I also like that the burner only heats the pan. It’s a great addition to my kitchen.
Range –
Beautiful. Boils water in minutes. Large oven. Easy to clean and operate. Can’t wait to cook Thanksgiving dinner with it.
Kori –
I had a Fridagare professional gallery series smooth top for 24 years. The top cracked for no apparent reason. It could not be fixed. The warranty program I have offers what is competitive at that time. The stoves they offered were not that great. After searching and reviewing, we stumbled across this one. Even though I had to get new pans due to being an induction, all I can say is why I didn’t buy an induction years ago. So far, this has been very good. It has WiFi & Alex enabled which I have only used to preheat or turn the oven off. It has some built in baking categories, which I have used. The convection is fantastic and much more up to date than the older ones. Baking cookies in older models, you would have to constantly rotate and change rack position which was a pain when a cookie can only back for s 10 mins. With this oven, there is no need for that. You will not go wrong with this purchase
Static –
Boils water so fast! The touch buttons are annoying to clean around but it’s worth for the cool factor.
Skyhawk –
Overall an excellent range. Both the induction cooktop and convection oven are extremely efficient. Very low learning curve to use.
Debbie –
I am not a fan of the stove top. I like everything else about the stove, but the top. Very challenging to clean, always looks dirty. I’ve bought alot of products and spent alot of time cleaning it! Should have went with a different stove.
BakinglikeaGBBS –
Well I didn’t anticipate buying an induction top stove but I am very glad I did. I am amazed I can boil water in a minute! I wasn’t sure about a glass top but it has been easy to adapt (have always had coil burners) The oven with its 3 porcelain racks heats evenly and bakes like a dream. I am still learning and figuring out all the options and ways to cook and bake but will say the ability to easily switch to baking in Celsius has come in handy. I also love the clean, sleek look.
CharlieC –
Awful awful awful. Broken more than it works and now 4 years old and warranty is expired. This is not a good product and tried to enact lemon law and they said I didn’t qualify as it was always something different (or so they said). Awful product I would give no stars if I could.
Frank –
Excellent product. We only have electric as an option but wanted the cooking control of gas so we elected to get an induction range.
Works as advertised. The large burner can boil water in as little as a minute. Excellent heat control not quite as good as gas but close.
Really nice to have all the burners and control “smooth”. Makes it very easy to clean plus the lockout button for the controls makes cleaning that area very easy. Also, has controls to use 2 burners together for a grill or griddle.
Also gives you a good excuse to get new cookware 🙂 as we had all aluminum cookware which won’t work on an induction cooktop.
Very pleased. Highly recommended.
Brandon –
If you’re on the fence for a great induction Stove. Look no further, this is defintely the one. It cooks, cleans and handles like a dream, and it looks great in a kitchen with matching stainless steel appliances. It’s kid safe and very durable.
Caprichoso –
I’m not sure I understand all of the highly rated reviews. Yes, it is a great range, but it has one glaring, dangerous, fault. The burners are controlled by touch sensitive sensors. This is great except for the fact that they are water sensitive. If you are steaming something, or frying, if anything splashes on the controls chaos can result. Normally it means that when you try to change the settings of a burner and there is moisture on the controls the stove will refuse to change the setting. I’ve seen all of the burners start flashing trying to turn themselves on. Luckily if you don’t have anything on the burner you are ok. Tonight I had a wok drying out on low heat. I smelled something burning, and the heat had changed from low to maximum. You can’t leave this stove range unattended if there is any possibility of something splashing on the controls. If it didn’t have this flaw I would rate it 4 or 5 star.
KellyM –
It was junk and only 1 burner worked….never buying from Best Buy again.
