    Had to get a new microwave as the old one broke. Had to get s new trim kit to match the new microwave. There was nothing wrong with the old trim kit. Why can’t you make a trim kit to fit all microwaves that size instead of having to pay $200 for a new one?

    This surround completes the built in for the GE Profile PEB7227SLSS microwave. The surround comes with all the mounting hardware for the microwave install (NOT JUST THE HARDWARE FOR THE SURROUND). You need to buy this so that you can mount the PEB7227SLSS (or whatever color you get). This is a little confusing in that it seems you are paying for just the surround when you are actually getting the ‘install kit AND surround’ with this unit. The only reason I rated a 4 star is that it is not solid metal but basically a very strong plastic. It does however look GREAT installed. The screws to attach it to its mounting brackets are a trick. Doable, but a trick to get into the slot. So have patience. Worth it when all said and done.

    This trim kit, which by the way you need these new ones for any newer GE microwave….they will not work with older models, installed easily and looks really nice and neat.

    The door of the microwave scraped on the trim. Trim two different sets and never worked correctly. Had to switch to a different product.

    THIS TRIM KIT WAS PURCHASED TO PROVIDE A BUILT IN LOOK FOR THE MICROWAVE THAT WE SELECTED. IT LOOKS VERY GOOD, AND ACCOMPLISHES WHAT WE WE LOOKING FOR. HOWEVER, IT COST ALMOST AS MUCH AS THE MICROWAVE, BUT YOU HAVE NO CHOICE WHEN YOU ARE USING A MICROWAVE UNDER 30″ WIDE.

    We needed this trim kit to surround our built in microwave. This trim looks nice once installed, but installation was not smooth. The holes to secure the trim to the included bracket did not line up so we had to drill extra room to extend under the trim openings. The trim face shown is plastic and not metal which was disappointing. Also we had to order two of them because the first trim face was bent in several places and was very noticeable and looked like a “second”. The last one we received, once installed, provided a nice finished appearance. Also we learned through the process of replacing our microwave, these trim kits are particular to individual microwaves and not interchangeable.

    this is a must to frame the stainless ge microwave. should really be part of the microwave instead of costing extra.

    Microwave trim kit is a useful addition to positioning microwave in a cabinet space.

    Mounting screws are only accessible when the microwave door is open. Since the door actuator broke on our less than 2 yr old PEB7227DLBB, we cannot get the door open to remove the trim, to get to the unit in order to fix the microwave.

    Looks great! It’s hard to know exactly how far the edges will overlap the cabinet. I had to pay extra to have the prior microwave cavity raised to allow this to be installed so that it fits with the matching GE profile built-in wall oven. It looks good now that it’s installed but exact overlap measurements would have helped. Cost additional to have the installer modify and raise the microwave cut-out opening. The install sheet was not adequate information.

    I thought that this would be made of stainless steel but I guess that the color of the plastic is stainless steel!?!?! Too much to spend on plastic but you do not have a choice.

    The wrong size was ordered twice to fit. Now the right size is not available after two installation tries.
    Now I have a trim kit here and 1 microwave that needs to be exchanged.
    I will have to go to store Monday to start over.
    The door on microwave wave hits the trim when opening and won’t open all the way.

    Looks really nice, but the product took a lot longer to come and was faced multiple resheduled due to Microwave that we purchased along with the trim wasn’t available and no one knew why it wasn’t available but the rep took care of the issue having contacted him mutiple times.
